Temba Beach Party!
WHO: EVERYONE!!
WHERE: Temba Beach
WHAT: BEACH PARTY TIME!!
WHEN: noooooooow
Notes: Mix & Match the prompts as desired. Any format goes!
WARNINGS: Pride Birbs. It's Pride month. So. PRIDE BIRBS! Oh. And you may add your own warning labels to the respective threads, I suppose.

Isn't it amazing what people can achieve when several come together and pool their ideas and resources for a shared goal?
It certainly is in Jon's eyes, whose innate lack of creativity originally has gone as far as bringing some blankets to the beach and hoping for a good mood. What has ended up being set up on the bluish, almost purple sand of the beach is far beyond anything he would have imagined and he won't deny being glad he has reached out over the network with his little suggestion.
Of Barbecues, Grills and other Beverages
Do you remember Cobb asking for a grill to be made for him? Right. That grill can be found at the party. Kyle has offered to prepare burgers to be grilled along with whatever meat selection the diner has to offer and Clarice is the person to thank for the home made ice pops, created from native fruits such as glueberries and mangourd. Of course these are kept fresh under a parasol and in an insulated box mostly buried into the sun. That's how the majority of the drinks offered at this party are being kept cool as well.
If you want to catch one of those fat green lobsters roaming the beach as well and toss it onto the grill, you sure can try.
INTO THE OCEAN!!
You better bring your swimwear, because jumping into the water is an option. No actually dangerous creatures are this close to the shore, making swimming or potential swimming lessons very much possible.
Tony also ensured there is a little kiddie pool for the babies. And Cobb.
Someone brought an inflatable Eyeball?
Before anyone asks, it wasn't Jon. But it's there. An inflatable eye beach ball.
Any questions? Yes? Good.
Lounging in the Shade & Music
Parasols, blankets and a guitar borrowed from Cayde's bar. Sit down, relax, chat. And if you know how to play this instrument, you're very welcome to do so.
Let there be BIRBS
Have you wondered yet why those birds are in the banner for this party? It's because they are here.
At first they linger in the trees near the beach, watching and squawking and being colorful parrots. As a little time passes, they leave the safety of their trees and start coming over, sitting on parasols, hopping curiously between this oddly large amount of people gathering at their beach and in all likelihood attempting to steal a snack or two.
But if you pay close attention, you can also observe them swooping down at the nearby lobsters, easily picking them up and carry them back into the nearby forest. Apparently these birds aren't just colorful and curious they also hunt lobsters. Who could have known...
Don't forget the Caves
Actually not far from our little party waits the entrance to the caves. Take a wrong turn in them and you will find yourself in a large chamber filled with those energy crystals that make all your technology glow and go insane or result in your powers to fluctuate greatly. Take the right turn, and you find yourself at those mysterious hot springs only few know about.
To be fair, the actual party is at the beach, but who knows when the need for some privacy arises.
When it gets Dark we gather around the Rainbow Colored Fire Pit
While set up at the edge of the gathering, the fire pit Tony and Cayde have set up to have a bonfire in easily is one of the center pieces of the party. Benches and seats either brought over from Temba or crafted from different material are set up around it and once the sun begins to set and the bonfire gets lit along with the many torches set up around the party, the invitation to remain a little longer couldn't be clearer.
There's more to it than just a cozy fire, a pleasant atmosphere and the company of friends. Next to the fire pit sits a small box. In that box, wrapped in plain tissue paper, are what at first glance are little more than lumps of wax. But mixed into this wax are different chemicals and tossing these into the pit will result in the fire burning with different colors or even sparkle. Way to set the mood and linger as the party winds down.
Due to health concerns Jon does not recommend cooking any food over the chemically altered flames, thank you.

Of Barbecues, Grills and other Beverages - OTA
For him, this was a belated Liberation Day celebration. The day he stopped being a slave and started living as a free man. It was an important day and he was a little pissed he missed it. He was making up for that now with an impressive bit of grilling.
The Agrii must have caught wind of this because they had helpfully provided some tools for grilling and an apron. Cobb had laughed and rather shamelessly put it on. Why not? Maybe it'd get him a kiss or two.
It would get him a laugh at the very least.
He stood by the grill the whole time, tending the fire underneath and the meat cooking on top. There were steaks, kabobs, burgers - which Kyle handled - and ribs. Anything Cobb made would be spicy, either seasoned that way or served with a spicy sauce. He also had grilled flatbread to make up for some of the heat.
But it felt good seeing all these folks together and celebrating. Almost felt like home in Mos Pelgo. And he was happy to chat with anyone who came by.

The Archivist approaches with a drink in hand, wearing a pair of swim shorts and a widely cut, open shirt, off-white with a light grey floral pattern on it. Items he has been lucky enough to find on Coruscant. And he is happy enough to actually wear both. And he has enough scars on his face alone that he doubts anyone being too shocked at finding more on the rest of his body.
"I take it you haven't changed your decision regarding getting into the water." Jon says, offering the drink to Cobb.

Without further explanation, Cayde's dropped a floppy hat on the man's head, his attention already shifted to the variety of cooked meats, and soon enough he'd claimed a kabob in one hand and a sizable chunk of rib in the other. How he was planning to eat those was anyone's guess but he didn't seem to find that the problem so much as which to start on first.

Some Toys to Enjoy, and also Tony brought some stuff. OTA!
Battlestations!
The territories had been neatly defined, and the red team base had been fortified with sticks, rocks and a few shells for good luck. Behind the low, cobbled wall, Tony crouched next to the bucket of their crimson ammunition, a palette of slightly familiar glittery, red paint in one hand that he used to swipe onto the cheeks of his undefeated commandos. Undefeated by nature of this being their first mission, but undefeated nonetheless. The blue team, somewhere behind the territory line and hiding their own chosen flag, could not possibly be prepared for the slaughter they had signed up for.
"If you get eyes on the leader," he said as he dabbed more paint onto a soldier's face, "don't shoot. They'll be going brute force, we're going to take prisoners and shatter their morale." The water guns dripped menacingly with the red-tinged water, ready to leave their mark on the opposition. "There are no civilians. Only obstacles," he continued. "Everyone out there could be an enemy agent. I have it on good authority that Cobb is a high ranking advisor and should be eliminated on sight. Everyone got a buddy? Uh, partner. Wingman?"
((OOC: water fight would be unreasonable to contain to this thread, take this information and spread chaos as you wish unless you're here to engage Tony somehow!))

DID SOMEONE SAY SHENANIGANS?!

OTA (possible End Game spoilers lmk if you want me to avoid)
Grabbing a towel, she found a shady spot on the edge of everything where she could sit. She didn't want to intrude on anyone's fun, but it allowed her the chance to watch and learn about them. She found her eyes drawn to the water, though. Pulling one knee up to her chest, she sat and watched the waves, lost in thought.
Now Now, Socialize Nat!
Dark colors like that would only serve to further warm an already pleasantly warm day. Granted Lark didn't have as much she could say given she was in a robe of handmade green fabric, but she had pulled it up a bit, tucking the excess material into the cord at her waist to hike it up higher on her legs. Even the sleeve of her robe were pushed up a bit, to let her feel more of the sea air on her skin.
"Not seeking to join the others frolicking in the sane and surf?" Lark asked as she came to a stop beside the other woman, offering her a soft smile.
Don't tell me what to do!
But Lark just wants comfortable interactions
That's fair.

Padme had spread out a large blanket by the kiddie pool, with an umbrella for shade. Luke was laying on his belly in the shade on the blanket, a fuzzy toy clutched in his little fist. Padme knelt at the edge of the kiddie pool, gently holding Leia up so she could sit in the water. Leia smiled, kicking her legs and laughing as she splashed. Padme beamed, clearly having just as much fun as her daughter.
Ocean
At some point, Padme gets someone to watch the twins so she can enjoy the water, herself. She's wearing a simple swimsuit as she wades into the water, as happy as can be. She's missed the water, okay? She wastes no time diving in, her long hair streaming behind her in the water as she swims. When she finally surfaces, she pushes the hair out of her face with a grin. "Oh this is wonderful!" She says to no one in particular.
Other
At any given point of the party she can be found on her blanket, getting food (or feeding the kids), playing with her children, or swimming. As the fire is lit, she finds a comfortable place to sit with the children napping in their pram nearby. She's quite approachable and will greet anyone with a smile.
Kiddie Pool
He felt especially awkward crossing the sand towards the kiddie pool, where he paused and offered an uncomfortable wave of his fingers and a stiff smile.
"Hey, I uh- sorry to interrupt- I just...I got this toy from the supply box by mistake, I wasn't sure if the kids would like it?" He flashed a slightly more sure smile then, taking Padme in properly now that his mission was complete. "...I'm Bucky," he added.

Moonshade doesn't have a swimsuit.
No, that's inaccurate. Moonshade cannot conceive of the need for a swimsuit. When she's ready to swim, she just strips down and wades out into the water, because that's just the done thing in her culture. She's clearly not worried about it, and will likely be surprised to find anyone else is. Find her about as relaxed as she's been since her arrival out in the surf, perhaps even diving for interesting shells.
Water Gun Fight
The leathers go back on for the water gun fight, at least. Moonshade, a squirt gun full of blue liquid in her hands, seems a little unsure about what's going on. It's entirely possible people of both sides will get squirted by her. A skilled archer, her aim is surprisingly true, even though she's never handled a squirt gun before.
Tonight's Howl is For You
As the sun goes down and the fire comes out, Moonshade seems to put a bit of distance between herself and the bonfire and the torches. There's two reasons for this:
1. She just doesn't like being near fire. Ever since her people were burned out of their home in the forest, ever since the death of the Father Tree and the holt built into its branches, she's not comfortable putting herself near flames.
2. Moonshade wants to howl. She heard the music earlier, the guitar playing and singing, but it's not the same as how her people sing. She and her wolf Steadypaw find a spot on a rocky outcropping (perhaps near the caves), look up to the sky, and howl in an eerie harmony that echoes over the waves and the beach.
It's a forlorn, sad sound, the song of two missing their home, their pack, their tribe. But even so, it's oddly beautiful.
Wildcard
Feel free to meet the newcomer elsewhere and elsewhen during the beach party!
Tonight's Howl
He excuses himself from the crowd around the fire and makes his way slowly across the beach, following the haunting melody. He wasn't expecting to find a person at the heart of it, and stops a little ways away, watching her. Something about the sound of it reminds him of his youth, curled up in a corner of the Ravagers' ship, one hand starfished to the glass and watching the stars, wondering if one of them was the Earth's sun, and just how far from home he was. His eyes water, a lump rising in his throat, but he doesn't quite cry.

Lauri-Ell | OTA
1. Surf
Yes, Lauri-Ell is aware of the ocean here. She's seen it, she's brought people to it, she's explored the beach. But never before has Lauri-Ell been in the water. Today would be an experience. Hammer still in hand she stepped toward the water, and then finally in.
"Alright," she said, "now what do I do?"
2. Sports
A ball that looked like an eye. Another might consider it a novelty. Lauri-Ell stood back from it, looking at it in disbelief. And... fear? The eye looks too... Well, monstrous. Like it might start to attack. Lauri-Ell holds her hammer toward it, a warning and a weapon ready to deal with any false moves.
"State your purpose, orb."
3. And Lounging
Only once before has Lauri-Ell had what she felt was a day of 'relaxation'. Of course such things had grown old to her rather quickly. Human television was not pleasing at all, it was confusing and frustrating. But today? No, she was enjoying today. For instance, she was now stretched out on the sand, her hammer sunk haft first into the sand. Her outstretched arm was positioned just right for the back of her hand to brush against it, sustaining the golden forcefield above her head. It's not quite a sun shade, but the force field from the Universal Weapon still served as a servicable UV screen, and she was enjoying the sun without possible skin damage thank you.
"I can extend the barrier, if you desired to rest," she spoke to whoever it was she could feel hovering nearby.
Sports
"Supreme Accuser, I can tell you on my authority as a Guardian that it comes in total absolute peace. I can neutralize that threat no problemo."
He hooked his toes underneath the ball, flipping it up into the air and bouncing it on his knee to catch it with a satisfying, solid smack. "Mostly because it's not a threat, it's a beach ball."

Reeve | OTA
The timing couldn't be more perfect. Just the night before Reeve had managed to finalize the work he had been doing, and today seemed as good a day as any to reintroduce his completed work. So when Reeve walked up to the party, with a large container of sun brewed tea, it wasn't alone. Nor was it with the relatively small doll that Mini had been until now. No, now there was a full three foot tall anthropomorphic cat, one with dexterous hands, and booted feet, and even a tail. It carried another container of sun brew appropriate to its size.
Oh, and it was talking, with an obvious accent. Apparently Mini didn't just take after his brother visibly, but in tone as well. Wonder why that was.
"Ya' but why do ya think thay'll like it?"
"Perhaps they will, perhaps not. But in the end, you know what Mother always said, Mini."
"Ay," Mini agreed, his tail flicking behind him as he walked. "Ya canne get it out of ya mind."
"Indeed."
"But ya canne expect me ta jus' put on a friendly smile. This face is nah good fa smiles. Nah that I'm complain'."
2. Birbs Are Beautiful?
The advantages of Mini being able to move on his own is that both he and Reeve can have their own adventures and Mini can still call for help.
Like now. Mini had gone off wandering along the beach alone to explore. Except, uh... Well, Mini had one unfortunate characteristic that wasn't working for him. Which was his size. Mini wasn't too far off from the size of a green lobster after all, and apparently moving over the beach made him a bit of a target.
"Ach! Geh away from me ya fools! I'm not bloody dinnah!"
3. Fire Pit
It had been a long day, and a lovely one as well. It had been so long since Reeve had truly enjoyed himself in such a frivilous way, and he found himself pleased as he lounged near the fire pit. Mini sat silently at his side, eyes closed, resting after a long day. Reeve?
Reeve selected another lump of wax and tossed it into the fire. The flames leapt in a beautiful shade of green that left him looking a touch wistful.
"Looks like the lifestream," he observed, before sitting up a touch straighter. "I have to wonder what mineral salts are in these to make the color. I've never seen anything like it."

Daywalker (aka Kyle) | OTA
Although not as susceptible to sunburn as some, Kyle's still half a ginger. This means that after some frolicking in the water (yes, frolicking, he's having a blast, thanks) he collapses into the shade to make sure he doesn't wind up as red as his hair.
He's fully expecting to find other people who either burn easily, or who can't stand the heat to be catching some respite from the sun as well.
"Dude. This is sweet."
BIRBS!
Being a giant nerd, Kyle's been observing the birds from his spot in the shade when he's not throwing himself in the ocean. They're beautiful, but what he really finds fascinating is their diet. The lobsters, he thinks, would be a good food source, but catching and killing them is difficult. Unless...
"We could train the birds," he murmurs aloud.
The colours!
"God, I wish we had marshmallows."
Still, just hanging out by the fire, watching people periodically change its colour, is quite relaxing. Part of it is the lethargy that inevitably descends after a day spent running around in the sun, but part of it is also just being in friendly company after a period of stress. He'll sit quietly for a while, but eventually his natural inclination to speak will assert itself.
"...so. Anybody know any ghost stories?"
Birbs
"You know, we do already use them. Or maybe it's 'did'. I don't know what the order is now. Mostly I focus on the greenhouse, you know? I used to gather them some, because it's easy protein no one's gonna bitch over."
But fuck they sucked to acquire, even for him.

Clone By The Ocean - OTA
And Echo wonders why he hasn't spent more time out here.
Obviously the man looks like he can't take a day off, but he (currently, self-monitored even) is off-duty; just look at him, still in full armor for this beach day despite it all, the helmet stowed away where the others lounge.
Not that he sees a problem with this. Although he's now armed with a water gun, he's still enjoying the relative peace of looking out at the water, standing just where the waves touch his boots, walking through them whenever he decides to change location.

Rufus hasn't been to the beach since he was a child and his father took him to the summer house on the shore. He didn't really have any particularly fond memories of those trips. But today was as different as it could be and he slips off his boots carefully when he gets to the sand. Cane in one hand, shoes in the other, he follows Dark Nation who is practically running around in circles eagerly. There are new sights, sounds, people, so much to explore.
Rufus is content to stick to the shore to watch as Dark Nation enjoys playing in the waves. It's peaceful here despite the crowd, no one seems to recognize him and no one seems to want him dead for a change.
And when that particular beach ball comes bouncing along Dark Nation freezes, ears perked up as her red eyes track it intently. And in the blink of an eye she's in motion, grabbing it between her two front paws, massive teeth ripping into the plastic. The beach ball doesn't stand a chance and gives up immediately, leaving her looking bewiliered as if her world just turned upside down leaving her with shreds of plastic hanging from her mouth when it pops.
Fire Funtime;
It's been a long day, exhaustion pulls heavily on him but the light of the fire is relaxing to sit by and gather his strength. Even Dark Nation is sprawled out, still covered in sand as she soaks in the warmth. It's not long until he notices the box with the lumps of wax, quickly learning that when one is tossed it, it turns the fire a beautiful red.
Another lump turns the fire green. And a third a deep blue.
Oh, that's fun.
Two of the wax lumps are saved, tucked into a pocket, for him to try to figure out what they are made of later and he hols up another two. There is only a moment of consideration before both bits of wax are tossed into the fire at the same time.
What's the worst that could happen? Other than the gross gray color that the fire is turning now.
Ocean
Seeing what quite apparently just happened, Jon winces briefly, then swims back towards the beach until he can stand and makes his way towards the animal, pausing a plausible distance away to call out towards it. "Ah- You alright?" He isn't familiar with this one, or its breed, but Jon certainly knows that loud, sudden noises can be quite irritating for humans and animals alike.

Amazingly, the boy's not standing knee deep in the water wearing his usual workwear and boots. And while he hasn't committed to a full swim just yet, he's taking the time to enjoy the cool water and the feel of the sand beneath his bare feet. When has he ever had a chance to actually enjoy a swim?
Still modestly clothed, at least Cal looks more set for a beach party than some underwater exploration, wearing a dark blue shirt and a pair of longish but loose-fitted black shorts. It still feels a little strange being dressed like this, a feeling that fluctuates with the sense that 'no, this is kind of how it's supposed to go,' which he can only assume is some remainder of that city experience from the month prior.
Bonfire
Even before the skies begin to fully darken, Cal's opted for having a seat on one of the blankets near the fire, just to take everything in and enjoy being around everyone. He laughs as BD-1 hops across the sand and towards him, awkwardly clutching one of the one of the wrapped wax lumps with a foot.
The droid beeps eagerly, having seen others throwing them into the fire to produce a spectacular color-shifting display. Cal picks him up, letting BD hold onto his hand so he can get some good leverage- he remembers how to toss things from when there was that game booth at the festival Billy had made for everyone. The droid pitches his other leg and the wax bundle forth, watching it sail into the flames, giving a squeal at his triumph. And then the flames flicker and flare into a vibrant heliotrope, making him bounce happily in Cal's grasp.
Bonfire
"What's their name?" she asks when she makes her way over. Ikora nods her head to the droid.
As always, Ophiuchus is with her, though he did hide for a little bit during the water fight. He's hovering nearby and floats a little lower to say hello to the droid.

Echo isn't the only one to arrive to the beach party in armor. But unlike the clone, Din's helmet stays on. He doesn't seem all that bothered by the heat, either. Touching the shiny beskar is NOT recommended, unless you potentially want burns. Although, at some point he's resolved the issue, and claimed one of the parasols for shade, and to relax under as he watches people play in the ocean. Taking advantage of the shade to manage to actually take in some of the good grilled meats, too.
While he doesn't directly participate in the water wars. At some point he does wind up armed with a water gun, too. But be wary of him, he is a fast drawer, and not known to miss his shots.
Bonfire
When night falls, and the fun and games have wound down. He's taken a seat around the fire. Occasionally tossing his own color in, and watching as others do too. He'll listen to the stories people tell, but doesn't seem all that inclined to add his own. Also, all the fun and food was apparently too much for at least one attendee, as Grogu can be found cuddled up in his buir's lap snoozing away. Using Din's cape as a pillow and blanket
Bonfire
"I feel like I owe you an apology for our meeting in the city," she said quietly, her gaze drifting down to the sleeping Child. "If I'd been in my right mind I never would've suggested separating you two. He thinks the world've you."

Beach Volley Ball (Sometime before the ball is popped) OTA
He drew up a small play area in the sand, and dragged in some foliage to act as a sort of net.
"You know how to play?" he asked, push his sunglasses (where had he gotten those) up onto his head.

YOU'RE MY WONDERWAAAAALL | OTA / Eddie Date Time!
Yes. That's right. Richie is playing Wonderwall by Oasis. You're all welcome.
"C'mon! Someone's gotta know the words! Tooo daaaay is gonna be the daaaay..."
Daaaate- For Eddie but feel free to tease him OTA Richie isn't nervous. It's stupid to be nervous. Eddie is his best friend and, yeah, sure, also the love of his life. But they know each other and Eddie had said that he wanted this. Him. So. Yeah. A date comes next. Which is good! Really good! Even if it makes Richie possibly go off, away from everyone and throw up into the ocean before walking back and rinsing his mouth with whatever drink he grabs.
"Shit...shit shit shit shit...." He paces a little, waiting to see his friend. He has pretty much one outfit so it's not like he can really dress up for this. Still, he at least combed his hair and replicated himself a pair of swimming shorts in bright fucking red. So yeah. He's ready. Ish. And yeah. It'll be fine. Totally fine.
"Holy shit," he murmurs into his hands as he keeps pacing. "I'm gonna fuck this up so bad. I know it."

OTA - what's a beach party without ice cream?
Once it was all set up, she left it as a free-for-all like the rest of the food and made her way down to the water, untying her skirt and laying it out like a beach blanket. She had black, modest panties on underneath, giving her the look of a mismatched bikini, and stretched out with her arms behind her head, watching the clouds and the birds flying around in their rainbow flurries of feathers.

Stepping a little closer, he cleared his throat. "Hey, uh, you mind some company?"

OTA
Once the war is over and the flag is won, she takes a dip in the ocean to wash it off ... along with any barbecue sauce she's managed to cover herself in learning the joy of grilled ribs. Occasionally she'll dive below, seeing how deep she can go and what sort of trinkets she can find on the ocean floor, coming up with a shell or creature in her hands and seaweed in her hair. Once, she comes up with a lobster, only to have it snatched from her hands by a rambunctious bird. Its head and tail are yellow, the wings are blue, and the chest a vibrant pink. With a cry of surprise, Aeon swims after it, toward the shore ...
Eventually, she manages to coax the bird back over to her with some bits of meat and fruit. The two are equally matched in curiosity: for every time she strokes its feathers, it hops onto her shoulder and preens her hair or cleans out sand from beneath her fingernails. It's clear she's made herself a friend.

He went out pretty far, diving under the water and swimming along, exploring the sea life and occasionally, sneaking close enough to deliver a playful pinch to unsuspecting toes.
CLIFF DIVING It wasn't particularly easy getting up there, but after a bit of trial and error Poe found a fairly reliable route, happy to guide any others who wanted to partake.
"It's easy," he promised, looking over the edge to the water down below, offering a reassuring shoulder pat, "You just need a little bit of distance, after your first jump you'll be hooked."
no subject
"It's not the jumping I'm worried about." He has done much bigger Force assisted falls, bunches of times. "It's the swimming back to the surface. I know how to swim-" Capital City on Lothal was on the coast, and his parents took him to beaches several times that he remembers.
"It's just been a while."
