Isn't it amazing what people can achieve when several come together and pool their ideas and resources for a shared goal?

It certainly is in Jon's eyes, whose innate lack of creativity originally has gone as far as bringing some blankets to the beach and hoping for a good mood. What has ended up being set up on the bluish, almost purple sand of the beach is far beyond anything he would have imagined and he won't deny being glad he has reached out over the network with his little suggestion.

Of Barbecues, Grills and other Beverages

Do you remember Cobb asking for a grill to be made for him? Right. That grill can be found at the party. Kyle has offered to prepare burgers to be grilled along with whatever meat selection the diner has to offer and Clarice is the person to thank for the home made ice pops, created from native fruits such as glueberries and mangourd. Of course these are kept fresh under a parasol and in an insulated box mostly buried into the sun. That's how the majority of the drinks offered at this party are being kept cool as well.

If you want to catch one of those fat green lobsters roaming the beach as well and toss it onto the grill, you sure can try.

INTO THE OCEAN!!

You better bring your swimwear, because jumping into the water is an option. No actually dangerous creatures are this close to the shore, making swimming or potential swimming lessons very much possible.

Tony also ensured there is a little kiddie pool for the babies. And Cobb.

Someone brought an inflatable Eyeball?

Before anyone asks, it wasn't Jon. But it's there. An inflatable eye beach ball.

Lounging in the Shade & Music

Parasols, blankets and a guitar borrowed from Cayde's bar. Sit down, relax, chat. And if you know how to play this instrument, you're very welcome to do so.

Let there be BIRBS

Have you wondered yet why those birds are in the banner for this party? It's because they are here.

At first they linger in the trees near the beach, watching and squawking and being colorful parrots. As a little time passes, they leave the safety of their trees and start coming over, sitting on parasols, hopping curiously between this oddly large amount of people gathering at their beach and in all likelihood attempting to steal a snack or two.

But if you pay close attention, you can also observe them swooping down at the nearby lobsters, easily picking them up and carry them back into the nearby forest. Apparently these birds aren't just colorful and curious they also hunt lobsters. Who could have known...

Don't forget the Caves

Actually not far from our little party waits the entrance to the caves. Take a wrong turn in them and you will find yourself in a large chamber filled with those energy crystals that make all your technology glow and go insane or result in your powers to fluctuate greatly. Take the right turn, and you find yourself at those mysterious hot springs only few know about.

To be fair, the actual party is at the beach, but who knows when the need for some privacy arises.

When it gets Dark we gather around the Rainbow Colored Fire Pit

While set up at the edge of the gathering, the fire pit Tony and Cayde have set up to have a bonfire in easily is one of the center pieces of the party. Benches and seats either brought over from Temba or crafted from different material are set up around it and once the sun begins to set and the bonfire gets lit along with the many torches set up around the party, the invitation to remain a little longer couldn't be clearer.

There's more to it than just a cozy fire, a pleasant atmosphere and the company of friends. Next to the fire pit sits a small box. In that box, wrapped in plain tissue paper, are what at first glance are little more than lumps of wax. But mixed into this wax are different chemicals and tossing these into the pit will result in the fire burning with different colors or even sparkle. Way to set the mood and linger as the party winds down.

Due to health concerns Jon does not recommend cooking any food over the chemically altered flames, thank you.

"I know-" Beck's face twisted, "You were a good kid. You are a good kid, and I don't- know how to begin to make up for what I did in there. It wasn't right."

Kid. Tommy's eyes narrow more than that.

"Just because I was younger there doesn't make me a kid, Quentin. Or okay with what you know. If I was a telepath I'd gut your brain right now.

"Tommy," Beck corrected, cheek flinching a little as the use of his own first name, but naturally he had to accept it. "I'm not super okay with knowing it either, honestly. But I can't change that. I'm sorry. If you want nothing to do with me I understand, but I want to try and make amends for what I did. And show you that's not who I am. I liked you...You did good work."

Amends. Tommy doesn't stop glaring. How did someone have amends for what Quentin did to him? What he showed Tommy?

"Don't talk about my work. That's him, not me."

"You think they're different?" Beck prompted innocently, tilting his head?

Of course he thinks they're different. Even if he's had the conversation before.

"I wasn't raised by Wanda. I never got anything but a GED and that when I was seventeen. I don't get trusted to do smart people stuff. So no, I don't think they're the same. Not like they could be."

Any reasonable person would reassure Tommy, but Beck opts to try and use that lack of confidence to his advantage instead. "Then you know, we were both different people there. Whatever your brother put into our minds..."

Well sorry Beck, gotta burst your bubble.

"That's not true at all. The spell was affected by our desires. Or at least those of us closest to him. Thus Wanda having kids and being married to Vision, thus us being her sons, thus me being smart and successful and with a guy, and Billy not having powers."

"Is that what he told you?" Beck tried to pose it in a gentle way. After all, would Billy really tell the truth if he had tried to make Tommy into a better version of himself.

[doubled_speed]

"Yes," Tommy answered, "And I trust him more than I trust you."

Beck was the one who had betrayed him, after all. And Tommy held grudges.

"Well I didn't want to hurt you. I didn't want to hurt anyone in there. That's not me," he insisted calmly, "I know I hurt you, but we all did things in there that were-"

He sighed. "It's not an excuse. I know. And I get it. Just...try to remember that's not who I want to me."

Tommy rolls his eyes.

"Show me a hero, I'll show you someone who has fantasized about using their powers to take over the world. Plain and simple truth, it's how it works."

So some level of darkness is to be expected.

"Even you?" Beck arched a brow, and frowned in consideration. "...maybe after what happened to my world, some part of me wanted to take control, make things right," he conceded, "But I've never wanted to hurt people."

"Especially me," Tommy answered, and he offered a grin his grandfathers would be proud of, all madness in his eyes and too much teeth. "I have a really good reason to hate humans after all."

[itsamysterio]

Well that's...frightening. But honestly, it made Beck look at the kid in a different light. "...I'm sorry to have given you more reason then. I just wanted to let you know-...I really did enjoy working with you. I want to make things right."

"Yeah, well, there's no right anymore. I'm not him, I don't have the chances he had and I can't be him, so there's no fixing what you did to him."

Because Tommy can't be that man, no matter how much Clarice and Billy and Kyle insisted he could.

"I'm not asking you to be him." Beck wondered if he could play off this insecurity more in the future, offering a sympathetic look. Of course Tommy could never be him. Poor thing.

Everyone was expecting him to try and be like that guy, and Tommy knows better.

"So you're literally said nothing so far that I care about. Give me one good reason to listen to you."

[itsamysterio]

"You know, for someone so sure he's not the man in that world, you seem awful sure I am. You might wanna figure out what you actually believe," he said with a pointed look, "You don't have to like me. Or forgive me. But you need to take a good long look at yourself and sort out how you actually feel about things, because you are just a bundle of hypocrisy sometimes."

It's called an irrational grudge, dumbass.

"I'm absolutely a bundle of hypocrisy. EVeryone is."

[itsamysterio]

"Well, you're old enough and smart enough to start dropping some of that bullshit, all right?" he said plainly.

"You were dealt a bad hand. A lot of people were. And I respect you too much to not call you on it. You can spend your whole life like this- holding onto grudges, and leaning on your past, or you can grow up. Become who you want to be and stop blaming everyone else."

"Or how about fuck off," Tommy snapped.

No, the reason Beck didn't get another chance was because of what he'd seen. SOmething Tommy didn't want anyone to know, not fore sure. Which he hates.

"Like, as far as possible."

"Or you know- ignore all that," he muttered, pushing up and dusting off his hands.

"...look, I'm around if you ever wanna talk," Beck offered, "Or want someone to talk straight to you for once. But if that's what you want, I'll leave you alone."

"If I need to talk, I have my brother," Tommy says. Not that he talks to him. No, if he needed to talk he'd talk to Kyle if he's being honest with himself. The guy knew so much already.

"Sure you will," Beck said dismissively, walking away with that dangling bait. If Tommy was anything like he remembered from the other world he wasn't going to let Beck have the last word like that.
