Isn't it amazing what people can achieve when several come together and pool their ideas and resources for a shared goal?

It certainly is in Jon's eyes, whose innate lack of creativity originally has gone as far as bringing some blankets to the beach and hoping for a good mood. What has ended up being set up on the bluish, almost purple sand of the beach is far beyond anything he would have imagined and he won't deny being glad he has reached out over the network with his little suggestion.

Of Barbecues, Grills and other Beverages

Do you remember Cobb asking for a grill to be made for him? Right. That grill can be found at the party. Kyle has offered to prepare burgers to be grilled along with whatever meat selection the diner has to offer and Clarice is the person to thank for the home made ice pops, created from native fruits such as glueberries and mangourd. Of course these are kept fresh under a parasol and in an insulated box mostly buried into the sun. That's how the majority of the drinks offered at this party are being kept cool as well.

If you want to catch one of those fat green lobsters roaming the beach as well and toss it onto the grill, you sure can try.

INTO THE OCEAN!!

You better bring your swimwear, because jumping into the water is an option. No actually dangerous creatures are this close to the shore, making swimming or potential swimming lessons very much possible.

Tony also ensured there is a little kiddie pool for the babies. And Cobb.

Someone brought an inflatable Eyeball?

Before anyone asks, it wasn't Jon. But it's there. An inflatable eye beach ball.

Lounging in the Shade & Music

Parasols, blankets and a guitar borrowed from Cayde's bar. Sit down, relax, chat. And if you know how to play this instrument, you're very welcome to do so.

Let there be BIRBS

Have you wondered yet why those birds are in the banner for this party? It's because they are here.

At first they linger in the trees near the beach, watching and squawking and being colorful parrots. As a little time passes, they leave the safety of their trees and start coming over, sitting on parasols, hopping curiously between this oddly large amount of people gathering at their beach and in all likelihood attempting to steal a snack or two.

But if you pay close attention, you can also observe them swooping down at the nearby lobsters, easily picking them up and carry them back into the nearby forest. Apparently these birds aren't just colorful and curious they also hunt lobsters. Who could have known...

Don't forget the Caves

Actually not far from our little party waits the entrance to the caves. Take a wrong turn in them and you will find yourself in a large chamber filled with those energy crystals that make all your technology glow and go insane or result in your powers to fluctuate greatly. Take the right turn, and you find yourself at those mysterious hot springs only few know about.

To be fair, the actual party is at the beach, but who knows when the need for some privacy arises.

When it gets Dark we gather around the Rainbow Colored Fire Pit

While set up at the edge of the gathering, the fire pit Tony and Cayde have set up to have a bonfire in easily is one of the center pieces of the party. Benches and seats either brought over from Temba or crafted from different material are set up around it and once the sun begins to set and the bonfire gets lit along with the many torches set up around the party, the invitation to remain a little longer couldn't be clearer.

There's more to it than just a cozy fire, a pleasant atmosphere and the company of friends. Next to the fire pit sits a small box. In that box, wrapped in plain tissue paper, are what at first glance are little more than lumps of wax. But mixed into this wax are different chemicals and tossing these into the pit will result in the fire burning with different colors or even sparkle. Way to set the mood and linger as the party winds down.

Due to health concerns Jon does not recommend cooking any food over the chemically altered flames, thank you.

Away from people? That's an interesting idea. Tommy smirks and makes for the shore.

"I mean, I think you not being burned is more important. But there are other places away from people..."

They have been into the hot springs before though, and they both know Tommy doesn't do well with the space. So shade will do.

Kyle follows, looking entirely too pleased.

"Look, I just wanna kiss you again, but I don't wanna make it some big PDA."

"PDAs are the worst," Tommy agreed. Not that being here was going to stop anyone from seeing them if they really wanted. He was pretty sure Tony had drones.

If Tony is using drones to watch people make out, that's his own disturbing issue.

Kyle flops into the shade again, skin still wet, hair weighed down. "Good date," he says.

IT really would be his own disturbing issue Tommy wants no damn part in. But once they're at the shade Tommy sits.

"I mean, I could have done better I bet."

[kyley_b]

"How?"

[doubled_speed]

"Could have been nicer to you," Tommy answered with a shrug.

[kyley_b]

Kyle rolled his eyes. "Tommy, I'm gonna tell you a secret: you don't have to be nice to me all the time. Like... you know how I feel about you. But just because I think you're awesome doesn't mean I'm gonna stop ripping on you sometimes. So that goes both ways. Just, you know. Be honest with me about the whole... I don't wanna be your friend you make out with sometimes. You get what I'm saying?"

Well, that's a point. Tommy sighed, shaking his head. "It's not that, man. Could have taken your apparent flirting better. But it was just so low end that I didn't think it was what it was. And that was teasing but good natured?"

It's balancing act, and he doesn't know what to do.

[kyley_b]

Kyle blushed. "I'm... not good at flirting. Lack of practice."

He sighed and sat back. "We're shit at this, aren't we?"

"Back home, David and I haven't even really used the 'd' word, or the 'b' word. I was prone to quick flirts and dancing at clubs and flirting with people that wouldn't really respond. So yeah, what we had was the most serious thing I've had."

So he's very bad at all of this.

[kyley_b]

"Well. You were the most serious thing I ever had, too. So."

He considered this, pulling his legs up to hug his knees. "Okay. We're in a weird place. We know that. I, personally, would go out with you again. But I get that I am clearly less... reluctant."

[doubled_speed]

"This doesn't count as going out?" Tommy asked. "I asked you here and we're here. Or... should we just assume whatever happened there as part of whatever this is between us?"

Except for the 'l' word. He's not ready there.

[kyley_b]

"No, it does! I mean after THIS date, I'd do another one. I'm liking this one a lot." he pushes his wet hair back. "I'm like... dude, I dunno, I'm trying to not freak you out. That's all. Mostly I wanna shut up and kiss you again."

[doubled_speed]

"I'd say I'm not a cagey guy, but I guess nope, I'd be wrong," he sighed, pulling his legs up against his chest. That sucked.

"I mean, that's not a bad impluse I guess."

[kyley_b]

Kyle snorts and rests his chin on his knees. "He guesses," he says. He falls silent, watching the waves.

"...no, you know what? This is stupid. We were doing good, we were having fun and things were cool. I made it weird, but whatever, I always make things weird. It's like my specialty. My entire time on this fucking planet has been a parade of me making shit awkward." He unfolds his limbs and leans over.

"Kiss me again. If you want."

They are definitely strange and in the weirdest position. This is probably a lot of different sorts of awkward. But the invitation has Tommy turning to Kyle. Twisting toward him and kissing the other guy, a hand on his cheek.

That, at least, isn't awkward. It's sweet and warm and perfect, so he kisses back, arms coming up to drape over Tommy's shoulders.

It's nice, to have Kyle wrapped around him. He smiles into the kiss and presses more firmly into the kiss. This was lovely, and he intended to keep it going for a while.

Finally. His lips part, and he scoots just a little closer.

Finally? Well at least someone was happy to be kissing him. Tommy hummed against those lips and moved to press Kyle down into the sand.

Kyle doesn't spare any thought to how the sand is sticking to him, and he doesn't entertain his usual worries about things like small crabs crawling into his hair. No, he just wraps his arms around Tommy's neck and hauls him down with him, apparently delighted to slip Tommy the tongue right there on the beach.

There it was, very nice. Tongue was nice, and Tommy took the chance of being hauled down to straddle Kyle. This was absolutely wonderful moment, and he hadn't thought to do anything but this. The kiss is intense, and he wanted to enjoy this.

At least they're in the shade and not about to get burnt because they're busy making out. Having been given what feels like a second chance at one of the best things to ever happen to him, Kyle's not thinking of the fact that minutes ago he was saying he wasn't into PDAs. At least not until the predictable physical effect of having someone he's into on top of him starts becoming noticeable. Only then does he pull his mouth away.

"...wow."

Yeah, Tommy had absolutely been in the school of no PDAs. But did it count when you had chosen a non-public place. Or a mostly not public place? That said, Tommy was pleased with the reaction he could actually feel and he let Kyle pull away. The wow earned a bright smile.

"Approval?"
