Temba Beach Party!

WHO: EVERYONE!!
WHERE: Temba Beach
WHAT: BEACH PARTY TIME!!
WHEN: noooooooow
Notes: Mix & Match the prompts as desired. Any format goes!
WARNINGS: Pride Birbs. It's Pride month. So. PRIDE BIRBS! Oh. And you may add your own warning labels to the respective threads, I suppose.

Isn't it amazing what people can achieve when several come together and pool their ideas and resources for a shared goal?

It certainly is in Jon's eyes, whose innate lack of creativity originally has gone as far as bringing some blankets to the beach and hoping for a good mood. What has ended up being set up on the bluish, almost purple sand of the beach is far beyond anything he would have imagined and he won't deny being glad he has reached out over the network with his little suggestion.

Of Barbecues, Grills and other Beverages
Do you remember Cobb asking for a grill to be made for him? Right. That grill can be found at the party. Kyle has offered to prepare burgers to be grilled along with whatever meat selection the diner has to offer and Clarice is the person to thank for the home made ice pops, created from native fruits such as glueberries and mangourd. Of course these are kept fresh under a parasol and in an insulated box mostly buried into the sun. That's how the majority of the drinks offered at this party are being kept cool as well.

If you want to catch one of those fat green lobsters roaming the beach as well and toss it onto the grill, you sure can try.

INTO THE OCEAN!!
You better bring your swimwear, because jumping into the water is an option. No actually dangerous creatures are this close to the shore, making swimming or potential swimming lessons very much possible.

Tony also ensured there is a little kiddie pool for the babies. And Cobb.

Someone brought an inflatable Eyeball?
Before anyone asks, it wasn't Jon. But it's there. An inflatable eye beach ball.

Any questions? Yes? Good.

Lounging in the Shade & Music
Parasols, blankets and a guitar borrowed from Cayde's bar. Sit down, relax, chat. And if you know how to play this instrument, you're very welcome to do so.

Let there be BIRBS
Have you wondered yet why those birds are in the banner for this party? It's because they are here.

At first they linger in the trees near the beach, watching and squawking and being colorful parrots. As a little time passes, they leave the safety of their trees and start coming over, sitting on parasols, hopping curiously between this oddly large amount of people gathering at their beach and in all likelihood attempting to steal a snack or two.

But if you pay close attention, you can also observe them swooping down at the nearby lobsters, easily picking them up and carry them back into the nearby forest. Apparently these birds aren't just colorful and curious they also hunt lobsters. Who could have known...

Don't forget the Caves
Actually not far from our little party waits the entrance to the caves. Take a wrong turn in them and you will find yourself in a large chamber filled with those energy crystals that make all your technology glow and go insane or result in your powers to fluctuate greatly. Take the right turn, and you find yourself at those mysterious hot springs only few know about.

To be fair, the actual party is at the beach, but who knows when the need for some privacy arises.

When it gets Dark we gather around the Rainbow Colored Fire Pit
While set up at the edge of the gathering, the fire pit Tony and Cayde have set up to have a bonfire in easily is one of the center pieces of the party. Benches and seats either brought over from Temba or crafted from different material are set up around it and once the sun begins to set and the bonfire gets lit along with the many torches set up around the party, the invitation to remain a little longer couldn't be clearer.

There's more to it than just a cozy fire, a pleasant atmosphere and the company of friends. Next to the fire pit sits a small box. In that box, wrapped in plain tissue paper, are what at first glance are little more than lumps of wax. But mixed into this wax are different chemicals and tossing these into the pit will result in the fire burning with different colors or even sparkle. Way to set the mood and linger as the party winds down.

Due to health concerns Jon does not recommend cooking any food over the chemically altered flames, thank you.

You know how hard it is keeping firm footing on sand?! It seemed his intervention was unnecessary as Tony managed to keep from accidental injury, and he had to admire the man's focus as Tony resumed whatever his plan of attack was.

Unfortunately it was going to be difficult getting a water gun between the fitted leather armor, and the collar around Cayde's neck was more of a twisted scarf that was part of his hood and cape ensemble. He'd give Tony a 'A' for effort at least. And with Tony busy scrabbling about, the Exo brought up one of his guns to spritz a puff of wet air in Tony's ear to try throwing him off guard so he could make a grab for his gun.

This was not working the way that Tony hoped to torture Cayde as much as possible, the water just sliding across the leather instead of soaking him to his circuits. "Is this painted on--?!" Tony started to complain with a laugh, cut off by the very uncomfortable puff in his ear that had him raising his shoulder to his cheek to try to defend it, with a shiver for the assault. Tony was definitely thrown off, making a grab for Cayde's wrist to disarm him as Cayde did the same, and was slow to jerk his gun back in surprise.

"Oh like you don't know how armor works!" Never mind that some Exos felt naked wearing armor because they would get confused and think it was an actual part of them.

The resulting gun tango might have made it look like the two were tying their arms in knots or doing some kind of strange dance, Tony hanging onto Cayde's wrist and Cayde with a hand over Tony's gun hand.

"Okay. Now what?" he smirked, meeting Tony's eye before he glanced just past him. "Now Sundance!"

To note, this was a total bluff.

They were one wrong move away from a slapfight, in Tony's experience, and Tony wasn't sure if that was more humiliating than the certain knowledge that Cayde was strong enough to pick him up and throw him off at any moment. Rhodey would have by now, anyway, but Tony would have also managed to get the gun down the back of Rhodey's shirt. Tony had just wormed his knee into the crook of Cayde's elbow to pin down his grabbing hand and try to wrench the last loaded gun free when Cayde tried his bluff, making him freeze and dramatically declare, "Sundance! How could you? I thought we had something!" He swung around to try to spot her before she--what, rammed into him? He didn't know what a Ghost's offensive manoeuvres entailed, but he released Cayde's wrist to better defend himself, trying to use both hands to secure his gun again to shoot her out of the air.

Things were already ridiculous as it was, but the Hunter could care less. He was thoroughly enjoying himself. How often did you just get to do dumb things and not get yelled at? ...the not getting yelled at part was really the main thing.

Of course, Sundance was not there. She knew better than to be about when people had water-shooting projectiles. Cayde didn't waste a second once Tony went rigid, and the moment Tony turned in preparation to ward off a Ghost attack (which the Exo very much wanted to giggle about), he shoved his free hand towards the man to knock him off as he pushed himself up. Rising to a knee he leveled his remaining water gun at Tony then, grinning roguishly. "You tussled with the wrong Exo."

Cayde was full of dirty tricks, and as Tony was thrown to the side he had the time to think that he didn't express his appreciation for the Exo nearly enough. From where he ended up sprawled on his hip and propped stubbornly on an elbow in the sand, he twisted his hand up to point the gun he brandished in an unconvincing surrender to Cayde's aim once more and said in his best drawl, "You'll hang for this, Cayde-6. Your power walking days are over." Then he blasted Cayde in the fast as much as he could before being laid low by his tricky adversary.

There was no dodging. Dodging at this point would be shameful. Cayde waited long enough to let Tony deliver his final sentence before they both opened fire.

With water.

That detail wasn't lost on him but he was caught up in the moment of whatever silly fantasy they were playing out, some great bastardization of those old western legends.

They were both getting absolutely soaked but neither of them were going to stop until the water ran out because that was just how they were. That it took a little bit to actually expend all their ammunition just messed up whatever drama they were going for, but Cayde was still committed to the role as the last of the water sputtered from the gun's nozzle, and he let himself collapse on the sand again.

Thoroughly defeated, blinded and with his nose clogged with water, Tony fell properly onto his back to drop his spent watergun to the side and spit some of the salt from his mouth. He had to wipe his face down before he could take a proper breath and lay panting on the beach, starfished and considering he could have approached that more tactically.

After a moment of squinting up into the sun, he helpfully provided, "There's still a couple of guns left, don't even have to fill them up."

His chuckles were still breathless for all that he didn't have the capacity to breathe, and it was probably going to be a mess to clean up later between colored water and purple sand, but at the moment, he was fine with it.

After Tony spoke up again with this important information, Cayde raised his hand with a thumbs-up. "Great. Because I have so. Many. Targets."
