Isn't it amazing what people can achieve when several come together and pool their ideas and resources for a shared goal?

It certainly is in Jon's eyes, whose innate lack of creativity originally has gone as far as bringing some blankets to the beach and hoping for a good mood. What has ended up being set up on the bluish, almost purple sand of the beach is far beyond anything he would have imagined and he won't deny being glad he has reached out over the network with his little suggestion.

Of Barbecues, Grills and other Beverages

Do you remember Cobb asking for a grill to be made for him? Right. That grill can be found at the party. Kyle has offered to prepare burgers to be grilled along with whatever meat selection the diner has to offer and Clarice is the person to thank for the home made ice pops, created from native fruits such as glueberries and mangourd. Of course these are kept fresh under a parasol and in an insulated box mostly buried into the sun. That's how the majority of the drinks offered at this party are being kept cool as well.

If you want to catch one of those fat green lobsters roaming the beach as well and toss it onto the grill, you sure can try.

INTO THE OCEAN!!

You better bring your swimwear, because jumping into the water is an option. No actually dangerous creatures are this close to the shore, making swimming or potential swimming lessons very much possible.

Tony also ensured there is a little kiddie pool for the babies. And Cobb.

Someone brought an inflatable Eyeball?

Before anyone asks, it wasn't Jon. But it's there. An inflatable eye beach ball.

Lounging in the Shade & Music

Parasols, blankets and a guitar borrowed from Cayde's bar. Sit down, relax, chat. And if you know how to play this instrument, you're very welcome to do so.

Let there be BIRBS

Have you wondered yet why those birds are in the banner for this party? It's because they are here.

At first they linger in the trees near the beach, watching and squawking and being colorful parrots. As a little time passes, they leave the safety of their trees and start coming over, sitting on parasols, hopping curiously between this oddly large amount of people gathering at their beach and in all likelihood attempting to steal a snack or two.

But if you pay close attention, you can also observe them swooping down at the nearby lobsters, easily picking them up and carry them back into the nearby forest. Apparently these birds aren't just colorful and curious they also hunt lobsters. Who could have known...

Don't forget the Caves

Actually not far from our little party waits the entrance to the caves. Take a wrong turn in them and you will find yourself in a large chamber filled with those energy crystals that make all your technology glow and go insane or result in your powers to fluctuate greatly. Take the right turn, and you find yourself at those mysterious hot springs only few know about.

To be fair, the actual party is at the beach, but who knows when the need for some privacy arises.

When it gets Dark we gather around the Rainbow Colored Fire Pit

While set up at the edge of the gathering, the fire pit Tony and Cayde have set up to have a bonfire in easily is one of the center pieces of the party. Benches and seats either brought over from Temba or crafted from different material are set up around it and once the sun begins to set and the bonfire gets lit along with the many torches set up around the party, the invitation to remain a little longer couldn't be clearer.

There's more to it than just a cozy fire, a pleasant atmosphere and the company of friends. Next to the fire pit sits a small box. In that box, wrapped in plain tissue paper, are what at first glance are little more than lumps of wax. But mixed into this wax are different chemicals and tossing these into the pit will result in the fire burning with different colors or even sparkle. Way to set the mood and linger as the party winds down.

Due to health concerns Jon does not recommend cooking any food over the chemically altered flames, thank you.

"Fuck off," Kyle replied brightly as he moved further out. The ground fell away and he swam, looking quite pleased with the world and his place in it.

"I gotta admit something, dude. I did talk about you a little to Clarice. I didn't use your name, though."

Oh no. Tommy swam after Kyle and looked to him before turning onto his back to float.

"So did I. But I did use your name."

Shit.

Oh.

"Oh," Kyle said. His face felt hot, so he dove under the water a moment.

"That's okay. I mean, not like it's some big secret, I just didn't know at the time if you wanted anybody to know.

"Did she say anything helpful?"

Don't worry, Tommy doesn't put together that diving under the water is to cool his face.

"I didn't want anyone. It just... It came up."

ANd he had been so stressed, so worked up about it.

"That I should believe in myself and what I was there. All of it."

Kyle tread water, looking at Tommy seriously. "Well, she's right. Just because it wasn't REAL doesn't mean it was all bullshit.

"And I'm not upset. You had yo talk to someone, dude."

"I talked to you and her and Billy. And with all of that, I took time on my island to think."

And he had thought about Kyle.

"You could get bored of me.

[kyley_b]

Kyle laughed. "What?! More like YOU could get bored of ME. I'm just dumb human Kyle here, dude. I won't be able to keep up with you at all, and I can't help you with any heroic stuff. I'm just a guy."

[doubled_speed]

"No one keeps up with me here," Tommy counters, twisting in the water to lift his head and tread instead of floating. "And I'm not a hero here. I'm just a farmer or some shit."

[kyley_b]

"I think you get what I mean," Kyle replies. He swims lazily around Tommy.

"Plus I am pretty boring. I've been told that, before."

[doubled_speed]

Yeah, he does get it. He just wishes this was something he could get better with.

"You don't bore me, Jersey."

[kyley_b]

"Well, you don't bore me, either." He stops swimming to tread water again, looking at Tommy with carefully guarded affection.

"You annoy the shit out of me, a little, but I don't mind."

[doubled_speed]

"Welll, I tend to annoy the shit out of a lot of people," Tommy answered, shrugging in the water. "I'm an annoying fucker who sticks around with my bro to make sure people aren't mean to him, I ponder the value of learning electronic engineering, and I hope to be better. But none of it works well.

[kyley_b]

"None of what works well? Because engineering takes time and practice, that's all."

[doubled_speed]

Time, he's got time. Practice? Theoretically he could get that too.

"And a teacher, Kyle. So I'll stick to plants."

[kyley_b]

"What about Tony?"

Yeah, Kyle never did know when to give up.

[doubled_speed]

Ugh, don't even mention that.

"I already follow Tony, help him out. He lets me. I sorta learn a bit by watching."

But they'd talked about it, sorta.

[kyley_b]

"So ask him to teach you some more stuff! I'm sure he wouldn't mind. Or I mean... you could always touch one of the engineering Data Points. Or ask someone else who has." Kyle's a problem solver, which is sometimes great and sometimes exactly the opposite of what people want.

He resumes swimming around, pausing to talk. "It sounds like you know what you want to do but you're too scared to go after it."

Engineering? No man, he didn't want to do that. He just wanted to work his farm. And he wanted to know how to do things.

"I don't know the point. When I go home I won't remember any of what I learned."

He's definitely too scared. In more way than one.

[kyley_b]

"The point is you wanna do it. That's reason enough."

He swims closer so he can look Tommy in the eye. "We don't know when of if we're going home," he points out. "So. Why hesitate, you know?"

[doubled_speed]

The point is he wants to do it? The point is that he shouldn't hesitate? Oh the way it made his heart ache to look at Kyle when he says that.

"You really believe that? Can you choose to live your life like that, Kyle? To act and not hesitate?"

[kyley_b]

Kyle laughs. "Me? Dude, my entire life has been a balancing act between overthinking everything and doing shit before I can think at all. I'm a mess."

[doubled_speed]

"Being a mess isn't the same thing," Tommy countered before twisting onto his stomach to start swimming away a little.

[kyley_b]

Kyle swam after him, pondering. "I believe it, though," he said. "We can ALL choose how we approach life."

[doubled_speed]

"And what would you do, if you chose how to approach life in this moment?"

Tommy really was intrigued, and wanted answers he knew he didn't have a right to.

[kyley_b]

"Well. Not waste any more time kvetching about being the one normal guy stuck on a planet full of badasses, for a start. I'm gonna stop being a pussy and accept the reality of the situation: I'm here, and not being exceptional isn't an excuse to not try.

"I'm gonna do my goddamn best to make sure that everybody stuck here has their basic needs met. I'm gonna get an actual dwelling, because I'm obviously gonna be here a while. I'm gonna treat my friends better." He looked over at Tommy. "You know, just be honest and kinder and stuff."
