Isn't it amazing what people can achieve when several come together and pool their ideas and resources for a shared goal?

It certainly is in Jon's eyes, whose innate lack of creativity originally has gone as far as bringing some blankets to the beach and hoping for a good mood. What has ended up being set up on the bluish, almost purple sand of the beach is far beyond anything he would have imagined and he won't deny being glad he has reached out over the network with his little suggestion.

Of Barbecues, Grills and other Beverages

Do you remember Cobb asking for a grill to be made for him? Right. That grill can be found at the party. Kyle has offered to prepare burgers to be grilled along with whatever meat selection the diner has to offer and Clarice is the person to thank for the home made ice pops, created from native fruits such as glueberries and mangourd. Of course these are kept fresh under a parasol and in an insulated box mostly buried into the sun. That's how the majority of the drinks offered at this party are being kept cool as well.

If you want to catch one of those fat green lobsters roaming the beach as well and toss it onto the grill, you sure can try.

INTO THE OCEAN!!

You better bring your swimwear, because jumping into the water is an option. No actually dangerous creatures are this close to the shore, making swimming or potential swimming lessons very much possible.

Tony also ensured there is a little kiddie pool for the babies. And Cobb.

Someone brought an inflatable Eyeball?

Before anyone asks, it wasn't Jon. But it's there. An inflatable eye beach ball.

Lounging in the Shade & Music

Parasols, blankets and a guitar borrowed from Cayde's bar. Sit down, relax, chat. And if you know how to play this instrument, you're very welcome to do so.

Let there be BIRBS

Have you wondered yet why those birds are in the banner for this party? It's because they are here.

At first they linger in the trees near the beach, watching and squawking and being colorful parrots. As a little time passes, they leave the safety of their trees and start coming over, sitting on parasols, hopping curiously between this oddly large amount of people gathering at their beach and in all likelihood attempting to steal a snack or two.

But if you pay close attention, you can also observe them swooping down at the nearby lobsters, easily picking them up and carry them back into the nearby forest. Apparently these birds aren't just colorful and curious they also hunt lobsters. Who could have known...

Don't forget the Caves

Actually not far from our little party waits the entrance to the caves. Take a wrong turn in them and you will find yourself in a large chamber filled with those energy crystals that make all your technology glow and go insane or result in your powers to fluctuate greatly. Take the right turn, and you find yourself at those mysterious hot springs only few know about.

To be fair, the actual party is at the beach, but who knows when the need for some privacy arises.

When it gets Dark we gather around the Rainbow Colored Fire Pit

While set up at the edge of the gathering, the fire pit Tony and Cayde have set up to have a bonfire in easily is one of the center pieces of the party. Benches and seats either brought over from Temba or crafted from different material are set up around it and once the sun begins to set and the bonfire gets lit along with the many torches set up around the party, the invitation to remain a little longer couldn't be clearer.

There's more to it than just a cozy fire, a pleasant atmosphere and the company of friends. Next to the fire pit sits a small box. In that box, wrapped in plain tissue paper, are what at first glance are little more than lumps of wax. But mixed into this wax are different chemicals and tossing these into the pit will result in the fire burning with different colors or even sparkle. Way to set the mood and linger as the party winds down.

Due to health concerns Jon does not recommend cooking any food over the chemically altered flames, thank you.

"Being a mess isn't the same thing," Tommy countered before twisting onto his stomach to start swimming away a little.

Kyle swam after him, pondering. "I believe it, though," he said. "We can ALL choose how we approach life."

[doubled_speed]

"And what would you do, if you chose how to approach life in this moment?"

Tommy really was intrigued, and wanted answers he knew he didn't have a right to.

"Well. Not waste any more time kvetching about being the one normal guy stuck on a planet full of badasses, for a start. I'm gonna stop being a pussy and accept the reality of the situation: I'm here, and not being exceptional isn't an excuse to not try.

"I'm gonna do my goddamn best to make sure that everybody stuck here has their basic needs met. I'm gonna get an actual dwelling, because I'm obviously gonna be here a while. I'm gonna treat my friends better." He looked over at Tommy. "You know, just be honest and kinder and stuff."

"That's a lot of big picture stuff. That isn't the moment," Tommy points out. Not that he's going to judge the guy too much. He sets to floating again, but it's very clear that his body just isn't good at it. Too much muscle, not enough flat.

"Well, it's hard to try and hit on you when we're swimming, dude," he says dryly.

Ah. Tommy smiles.

"I don't know. I'm being a less mobile target than normal.

[kyley_b]

Kyle swims as close as he can. "I'm hitting on you," he says, smiling a little because in spite of everything he's nervous.

That's pretty close, and Tommy has to shift to figure out how to tread water more easily with someone this close to him. Swimming, not his greatest life's desire.

"I don't quite see it."

[kyley_b]

Kyle sighs and starts swimming for shore.

Tommy frowns and turns around to swim after Kyle.

"What? Kyle, where are you going?"

[kyley_b]

"Shore," he says. "I should get in the shade." Which is true. He also wants to nurse his pride a little.

"You can come if you want."

[doubled_speed]

"Hey," Tommy said, going further. "Wait, was saying 'I'm hitting on you' how you were flirting?"

Did he just FUCK the hell up? He doesn't know. Tommy's not the greatest at flirting.

Kyle stops, able to put his feet on the ground while still staying mostly submerged. His face is indeed quite red, but his shoulders aren't which may be a giveaway that he's blushing.

"What, you think I was lying?

[doubled_speed]

"I didn't... I didn't realize. I'm sorry. This, I'm used to the drunkest cheesy lines or awkward things over the counter at coffee shops or something."

That's nothing like what he's used to.

"It's okay." He shrugs. "Seriously, just forget about it."

God, he feels so stupid. This is a date, but somehow he's clearly not giving date vibes. Typical.

No. No please. Tommy reaches out, grabbing Kyle's arm. And then realizes he HAD said no touching without permission from the person being touched. He looks ashamed that he broke the rule and drops the touch.

"I meant more... It's not what I've had before. I expected you to just smirk and say 'if I said you had a nice body' or something like that."

Kyle, of course, barely counts that as touching. He does stop moving, though.

"Oh. Well. Okay." He thinks a moment. "That ass must be critical data, because I wanna back it up."

[doubled_speed]

What. Was. That? Tommy's eyes go wide and then he's laughing in delight.

"Shit, I've heard a hundred lines in as many languages but I've never heard that one before. Fuck, it's great."

[kyley_b]

His expression breaks open in a smile. "Appropriately nerdy." He wades a little closer. Just a little.

"That's more your thing?"

[doubled_speed]

"More like, it's something I recognize," Tommy admitted, hand coming up to card through his wet hair. Yeah, he was bad at this.

[kyley_b]

"Right. Okay, well. I can do terrible pick up lines."

[doubled_speed]

"Maybe confidence in me and terrible pick up lines are the language I know," Tommy admitted. That was nice. Because it was obvious.

[kyley_b]

"So if I asked you to come sit in the shade with me and maybe like... Maybe I could kiss you? You don't have to say yes. You're still my friend even if that's a no."

Because he can't lose a friend.

[doubled_speed]

"I mean, I'd rather kiss you in the water," Tommy answered. Mostly because he knows the cold water would keep his body under control. "But I respect shade and your skin."
