Reeve Tuesti
Droid Quest 20-Whatever! | OTA
Given the world was strange, and there were Jedi around, Reeve wasn't certain how to hide his connection with the doll that normally traveled at his side. However he still had to be concerned about keeping Mini safe. Reeve had grabbed a satchel, prompted Mini to climb in, and they headed out into the city.
Wandering alone got him to what he was seeking, a shop that specialized in droid parts, and other bits of mechanical junk. It was here that Reeve invested many hours, going through second hand bins, and carefully showing Mini possible pieces.
"If only we could afford all we need," he lamented at one point. Damn, this was going to be harder than he thought.

Shit. Reeve definitely felt guilty to hear the man there. Yeah, he was going to have to face this sooner or later, wasn't he? He tried not to be awkward as he turned to face the other man. Who looked... ridiculous. Reeve just wanted to sigh.
What was it about Tony that made Reeve think so much of Vincent's overly dramatic nature?
"I suppose I do. However I fear that no investor would care to spend their capital with a testy old man who just wants to work on a pet project."

Like anyone asking for money ever did. "Have you considered lying?"

Tommy Shepherd
Shopping Spree - OTA
List compiled Tommy set out, spending time every day all over the planet. Someone looking for weapons might find him in the same shop looking at things to serve as cooking knives. Clothing shopping? Tommy was there looking for things that could serve as aprons and pot holders and oven mitts. End up by something resembling a grocer or a restaurant? Tommy was there too, gathering supplies, asking about recipes, doing anything he could to make life better when they returned to Temba.
Right up to and including waving anyone he recognized over toward him.
"Hey, come here and smell this thing. Does this smell, I don't know, edible?"
Or perhaps something more like
"Do you think this apron would fit Lauri-Ell?"
Or even maybe
"Think this knife could hold an edge for cumato dicing?"
no subject
In any event, when the foreign item is put under his nose for a sniff, he jerks backwards. "Holy fuck! What the shit is that?!"
no subject
But at least he'd known the guy was a thing.
"I think it's something like ginger. I need it for spicing stuff I think," Tommy says, considering the thing. "And it has seeds. And we have pots, so I could possibly plant them..."
Yeah, he doesn't accept your whole idea, Eddie.
"You're going to need to adjust."
no subject
He glances around, noticing the few aliens looking his way and shaking his head. "Listen, I've been here, like, two days. Excuse me if I'm not used to this shit, yet. I'm working on it."

It's utterly overwhelming to be here. He hadn't much opportunity even when living at the temple as a youngling to explore the city proper, and it's been years since he'd been in a place with so many people. And still he somehow feels all the more alone for it, adrift in a sea of people. Well, not quite alone. BD-1 beeps excitedly every so often as things catch the droid's attention. And then despite the sheer expanse of places to see, there's this uncanny habit of running into familiar faces like the speedster poking around clothing over there. These are instances that Cal won't complain about.
"It might?" he says thoughtfully as he studies the apron that Tommy holds up. "At least aprons are more forgiving than full garments when it comes to sizing."
no subject
What? Learning languages could be fun. Though a human making droid noises was probably wrong, right? Which was why he knew Cal was there to help him figure this out.
"I should get you one too, shouldn't I? Everyone deserves a sassy apron.
no subject
"Are you looking for anything else specific?" he asks Tommy.

"Earthy," she said. "But smell isn't the only thing you need to tell if something's edible. What did they stock it next to? Sometimes markets group foods that are served together, that might give you some idea."
no subject
“That tends to work better when you’re around only humans. Here it could be grouped with stuff I can’t digest.”

He Loves the Night Life - OTA
And maybe, you know, bring back an amazing story about it too.
So Tommy bolted off through the city until he could find somewhere with a kicking beat and people dancing, and just made his way amid the dancing press, moving in any way that he felt like. He didn't care if he looked silly, he just wanted to have fun.
Which was well and good until he saw someone he knew from the ships. Then he grinned, darting out to see them, his hand grabbing at their wrist.
"Come dance with me. I promise it's fun.
no subject
"Me?" he clarified, looking around, as though there were someone else the kid could have meant to grab.
no subject
"If you promise to, you know, buy real clothes. What the fuck?"

Lauri-Ell
The Knowledge Of Ages | OTA
This, of course, seemed the most likely place for a few things: finding what the Agrii wanted, finding a way home, and finding a solution to the storms that were supposed to plague Agra 10. Therefore it seemed to Lauri-Ell to be the most prudent location at which to begin the work. Once she was familiar with the working of the records, Lauri-Ell found herself a comfortable place to sit and opened the first record.
As much as she loathed to think it, part of her wished this place had something like the Supreme Intelligence. As unkind as the former leader of the Kree had been, the Intelligence at least could have provided answers faster.
"Ah, but reading will reach me other things as well," she noted to herself. Yes, very valuable. With that she settled in, not looking away from her research unless she heard footsteps nearby.

They hadn't had a chance to talk much back on the ship before the group as a whole had scattered. He's glad someone is taking advantage of the Archives here at the Temple.
He should too, really, and he'll ask the librarians for help, in a while. Maybe request a list of some of the texts that are standard curriculum for young Jedi. But it's all rather...a lot. His formal schooling is minimal, and he's always learned better hands on than from reading.
no subject
“Our pilot. Good day to you. I find the reading here pleasant. It is far easier to follow than how the Agri transcribe the language. The history of this world is intriguing.”

The Clothes Make The Woman | OTA
Clothing. This was finally a chance for Lauri-Ell to seek out clothing in her own size. However, never having worn anything before that was not a uniform or borrowed from her sister's closet, there had been one important step that needed accounted for.
"Thank you for assisting me with this endeavor," Lauri-Ell spoke as she moved with the companion she had managed to acquire for today. "I have only acquired goods through the exchange of currency once before, and I was informed that I did it improperly. I have also never owned clothing beyond my uniform."
Which she was, of course, wearing now.
no subject
"It's not a problem," Clarice said, smiling as they moved toward a boutique that had promising mannequins in the windows - though she wasn't sure about the twin tentacles springing from the backs of their heads. That was a bit odd. A lot of things were a bit odd to her, and she was trying to take them all in as much stride as possible.
"Shopping for clothes can be a lot of fun, and it lets you choose your own style. Another form of self-expression, to show off your taste."
no subject
Self-expression. What an idea. Kree were not meant to be truly unique. They were an army. But she supposed it would not hurt.
“I worry there will not be anything sufficient for a woman of my size.”
And given she was massive in both height and muscle size, it was awkward for her to find things at times.
