"Explore time," he says, even before he glances over at Tommy once he senses the speedster's return. "There's an area nearby that seems dedicated to droid-related businesses. We'll have to catch a ride across and a level down though."
no subject
“Really? A ride?” Tommy asks, wincing. “Any chance there’s a path I could run, to meet you there?”
He still wasn’t a fan of flying. Ever.
no subject
He points towards the nearby taxi landing pad. "We won't have to go far. It'll just take us across from there to that section over there."
no subject
“Then we’ll go. Come on.”
Don’t question it. He’ll be shaking too much if he gets called on it.
no subject
"It's just a quick ride," he says again in reassurance. He waves at the droid managing the taxi landings. "Just to the next platform over," he informs it, fishing out a few credits to cover for them. They're pointed over to one of the idling hover vehicles then, also manned by a droid.

“Better be fast. I hate going slow.”
Better than admitting he hated not being in control.
no subject
Honestly there was no help for anything going fast enough for Tommy's standards, but once they're set to go and the destination given, the ride is a smooth one, dipping down as the vehicle leaves the platform, suspended by repulsors as it glides across the gaping distance that allows for a glimpse of the seemingly endless lower levels that make up sectors and subsectors of the city, practically an entirely different world in themselves.

But soon they are landing and he's okay, so he'd claim. He's shaking. Gotta get his feet on the ground.
"Hate this planet."

Cal hops out, looking back at Tommy as the other disembarks. "Coruscant is one of the most populated and busiest. I don't think there are any other planets that have practically turned into an entire city."
no subject
It was never good.
"Can't be good for the planet, all this shit."
no subject
"Got any color thoughts for BeeDee?" he asks instead, as to which the droid behind him peers eagerly at Tommy to see what sort of input he might offer.
no subject
When Tommy resolves to learn something, he fucking learns is.

"He did see what a good job you did in helping me pick out something," Cal points out with a slight smile, the droid hooting his own confirmation in that. Still, he'd been asked directly, so the droid tilts his head as he thinks about it. It really isn't something he'd given much thought to, but like Cal, he'd been alone and on his own for a good long time and there'd been other things to be concerned about than getting a new paint job.
Something to contrast with Cal's darker colors maybe? he beeps. He has no specific preferences, but likes colors, a fact that the padawan's not at all surprised to hear given how excited the droid always was whenever he found a new poncho for Cal in the old abandoned crates they'd come upon on their travels.
no subject
"How about a really awesome sunset spread or something? So you match Cal's hair too. And then you'll be as sunny as you act."
no subject
The staccato of beeps sound like a titter of amusement as the droid seems pleased with the suggestion. He whistles enthusiastically, and while not sure just how much color he should be getting, he definitely sounds open to the warm palette.
no subject
Yeah, Tommy missed his actual costume, because it was so fucking durable. But hey, he had his goggles, which were important because it kept things out of his eyes when he was running.
But he's glad that Beady was excited over this. Maybe he should message Poe and suggest the same thing for Weeble and Little Man

"Not sure how good a spa for organics might be around here given the obvious catering- oh, there's the oil baths," he says, pointing out a neon sign in Aurebesh. BD-1 hangs off his arm eagerly as he swings about for a look, beeping excitedly.
no subject
no subject
"Oil baths are basically what it sounds like- it's a bath of hot oil. Helps droids clean out all the dirt and stuff that gets caked up in their joints and sockets, and it also lubricates them so they can move and operate smoothly. Kind of an all-in-one treatment."
no subject
For now, though, he figures he's gotta figure something out. Answer a question he has.
"But isn't that bad for his wires?"
no subject
To Tommy's next question, he shakes his head. "No, droid wiring is pretty durable and well-insulated. They have to be considering the various places they're expected to operate in. And BeeDee's an exploration droid, so he's built extra sturdy. Aren't you, buddy?"
He gives the droid a little bounce in his arm, BD-1 giving a smug sounding trill. "I mean, he's gone with me underwater before."
no subject
"Underwater little guy? How interesting. You're pretty talented, Beady. Humans wish they were as cool as you were."
But he smiles at Cal and offers a wink. The guy clearly has to know that Beady deserves great support and kindness.
no subject
It makes Cal smile. "You're always helpful, BeeDee." He catches the look from Tommy, chuckling. Supporting the droid is the least he can do, given that there's so much support that BD-1's given him in turn.
