It's utterly overwhelming to be here. He hadn't much opportunity even when living at the temple as a youngling to explore the city proper, and it's been years since he'd been in a place with so many people. And still he somehow feels all the more alone for it, adrift in a sea of people. Well, not quite alone. BD-1 beeps excitedly every so often as things catch the droid's attention. And then despite the sheer expanse of places to see, there's this uncanny habit of running into familiar faces like the speedster poking around clothing over there. These are instances that Cal won't complain about.
"It might?" he says thoughtfully as he studies the apron that Tommy holds up. "At least aprons are more forgiving than full garments when it comes to sizing."
no subject
What? Learning languages could be fun. Though a human making droid noises was probably wrong, right? Which was why he knew Cal was there to help him figure this out.
"I should get you one too, shouldn't I? Everyone deserves a sassy apron.
no subject
"Are you looking for anything else specific?" he asks Tommy.
no subject
He sighs and tilts his head. What is he looking for?
"Well, I sorta need to replace clothes that got ruined in the whole 'crash because Tony made a bike I had to race' thing."

"Back home I just used to pick things up quickly. I didn't think about it really. So I guess I'm not used to buying it anymore."
no subject
Cal's pretty sure he'd be overwhelmed looking at clothes himself. That's probably why he never bought any on Risa. The Agrii garments he and Teddy had scavenged from a supply crate back on Temba took a lot of...adjusting to be usable.
no subject
"I guess we could probably look for something for you, if you want. I could help you. I'm sorta fashionable at home. When I want to be."
ANd he thinks he could come up with some choices for Cal. Starting with dark blue. The guy deserves some blue in his life.
no subject
"Sort of, huh?" he chuckles. "Well, I guess that's still sort of more than me. If you want to help me out, be my guest."
no subject
"Awesome then, Caliente. Let's see what we can find. With color. You Jedi-like people just don't seem to want color. What's up with that?"
no subject
He's not going to say no to some color though. He wonders if part of it is just that ingrained thought of not to stand out in a way that obviously identifies him as a Jedi.
no subject
"Try this on."
no subject
Cal holds up the turtleneck that Tommy's found, giving an appraising nod before he looks around for some place to do so. BD-1 hops down from him and skitters by the speedster's feet as the padawan locates the fitting room.
no subject
"Yo, Beads, I think he's going ot look good in that," TOmmy says, squatting down to pat the little droid's head. "He deserves to look good. You do too. Maybe we can get you a polish and paint while you're here, if you want.
no subject
It takes just a bit before Cal finally reemerges. He tugs at the bottom of the shirt to make sure it's not all bunched up at his waist, flashing a lopsided grin at the two before glancing down at himself.
"This is pretty comfortable, actually. Well? What do you think? "
no subject
"Looking hot, Caliente."
no subject
no subject
"Light or heavy? With that, I'm thinking a nice gray or black. Which would also go with about anything else.
no subject
no subject
"After this, find a place to get Beady a polish and paint job. He likes the idea. Droids should be pampered too."
no subject
As Tommy goes to peruse other racks, Cal goes to get his things from the changing room. Probably wouldn't hurt to find a better rucksack or something, but he supposes they'll have to find another shop for that.
no subject
He finally selects a few coats and offers them out. "Here, man."
no subject
BD-1 trills excitedly at that. Droid spa!
When Tommy holds out some coats, Cal sets his things to the side, taking the first to slip into. He tugs it into place, moving his arms to see how flexible the material is before he slips it off to try the next.
no subject
Jealous.
"You think there's a place that will do droids AND people?"
But then he's looking at Cal in the coat, circling, tugging at it. Yeah, looks like a fit.
no subject
He's liking the fit of the next jacket, grinning as Tommy helps ensure it's sitting in the right place. "This one feels all right," he says with a nod. "I'm liking how it looks. You?"
