[The scene is of water and Noctis is visible, working on perfecting his craft of fishing here in this strange new land. He casts the line with his right hand and it goes out pretty smoothly. And as he talks to the camera, the bobber is bobbing along pretty well at first and only the side of him is seen since he's not looking directly at it.]
I'm studying agriculture, but it seems I wasn't able to get a lot of information on the different fish here. I know they got pretty big back where I'm from so I was kinda hoping someone could tell me how big they get here if anyone knows.
[And then the bobber goes down quick and Noct pulls back with the rod. And the next thing that's heard is splash and the camera falls off its perch to reveal a pale hand coming up out of the water and onto the deck after a moment or two. Next heard is spluttering accompanied with slight swearing but there's no one on camera.]
What the hell was that?

Seems you might have almost caught something. Or been caught by something.
no subject
Oh that's just great
So he sighed and didn't look at the camera, trying to laugh it off at this point. "Ya..whatever it was, was heavy and huge and snapped my line like a twig. I'm lucky it didn't break my pole."
no subject
If the fish hauled Ignis in, that was.
no subject
Which was his sideways way of trying to tell Reeve a little bit about who he was in his past and his fishing hobby.
no subject
Oh it was probably wrong to tease but he was quite amused here.
no subject
And of course that meant a rematch.

Wrap this soon?

Unfolding it will reveal what looks a lot like an emergency airline life vest, complete with a whistle and...oh, well, whistles everywhere where the life vest might have been blown up. All of the instructions and cautionary notations on it have been replaced with quickly painted, three-eyed smiling faces.

"Uh..ya. That's..helpful." Though he really wasn't sure what to do with the thing. "What's with these eyes?" And that was him asking no one in particular.

Ya I'm good.
[He then tried a smile and nodded.]
Thanks for checking up on me.
Oh, I'm glad to hear it. What happened?
Got pulled into the water..by whatever's in there.
It must have been big... Please be careful! My brother nearly got caught up by something huge that lived underwater and it was difficult trying to get him free. That wasn't here, but still...
[Cue all the embarrassment over here as Noct feels like an idiot. But he did listen to what the other was saying and he felt bad. It was really touching to have this unknown person worry so he laughed a little because of feeling awkward.]
Sorry you had to see that but I'll be more careful next time.

I'm assuming you're still alive and in one piece, yeah? I don't know shit about the fish here, but I'd guess they get pretty damn big if one just pulled you in.
[Or rather, he knew something about the fish, but just whatever was included in the basic information. He'd been working his way through the info on all the different types of animals since he'd arrived, just in case he needed it someday.]
From what little I could tell, it seemed pretty strong so it had to be pretty big.
[You know, how they could get ridiculously big if they were released into the wild. Or rather, maybe it was the alien version of a goldfish.]
Personally, I wouldn't feel too comfortable about taking a sudden swim. I've been catching up on the land animals but not the aquatic ones. Who knows what's out there.
Not like I had a choice to land in the water, but ya.
[A small sigh came out and he nodded at the man speaking to him.]
I'll definitely have to see if there's some sort of information about how big things in the water are. It is an ocean so I'd imagine things get to be a good size out there.
[He could make some kind of comment about how there's probably more information floating around about fish and other animals than there is about how they were going to get home, but... he pushed that bitterness aside.]
So'd you do a lot of fishing back home?
I did, used to make it a regular hobby back home.
[Death kind of put a damper on all of it.]
What about you? Did you go fishing back in your world?
