Network post: Video

[The scene is of water and Noctis is visible, working on perfecting his craft of fishing here in this strange new land. He casts the line with his right hand and it goes out pretty smoothly. And as he talks to the camera, the bobber is bobbing along pretty well at first and only the side of him is seen since he's not looking directly at it.]

I'm studying agriculture, but it seems I wasn't able to get a lot of information on the different fish here. I know they got pretty big back where I'm from so I was kinda hoping someone could tell me how big they get here if anyone knows.

[And then the bobber goes down quick and Noct pulls back with the rod. And the next thing that's heard is splash and the camera falls off its perch to reveal a pale hand coming up out of the water and onto the deck after a moment or two. Next heard is spluttering accompanied with slight swearing but there's no one on camera.]

What the hell was that?

[Noctis blinked at the new and unfamiliar voice.]

Ya I'm good.

[He then tried a smile and nodded.]

Thanks for checking up on me.

[The girl looks relieved once he responds.]

Oh, I'm glad to hear it. What happened?

[Noctis lowered his head a little and looked a bit sheepish.]

Got pulled into the water..by whatever's in there.

[She winces a little at that.]

It must have been big... Please be careful! My brother nearly got caught up by something huge that lived underwater and it was difficult trying to get him free. That wasn't here, but still...

Ya..it really must've been.

[Cue all the embarrassment over here as Noct feels like an idiot. But he did listen to what the other was saying and he felt bad. It was really touching to have this unknown person worry so he laughed a little because of feeling awkward.]

Sorry you had to see that but I'll be more careful next time.

[The kid smiles a little, nodding at him then.]

Probably the best thing to do around here. What were you trying to do?

[Well she wasn't wrong there about being careful but Noctis tried to shrug it off.]

Just thought to do a little fishing. Didn't realize I was going to hook something that would drag me in with it.

Is it difficult? Fishing, that is. I've never done it before, even though the planet I lived on was entirely covered in water.

No it isn't difficult. Some people find it pretty boring actually.

[What was it with this place and people who hadn't fished? Reeve, Kyle and now this girl. But then he nodded.]

Did other people fish then if you didn't?

[He'd imagine that to be the case if everything was covered by water.]

[She shakes her head.]

No, I don't think so. The city was more of a scientific research and military training facility.

Can...you show me how?

Oh.

[Well there had been things like that back home so he had something of a mental picture here. Sort of. But the next request had him wonder.]

You mean you want me to show you now or..?

[Did she mean she was coming out here?]

It doesn't have to be now- not if you don't want to. [She smiles a little.] It looks like you're a little busy at the moment anyway.

I don't mind, if you don't but it isn't hard to do.

[He was really just busy being wet at this point anyhow. So he tried a small smile.]

Just tell me where to find you. It might take me a little to get there, depending on where you are though. Should I bring anything along?

[Well this was just unexpected but Noctis would roll with it.]

Just..bring yourself. The fishing pole didn't break so it's fine.

[But then he looked around and as to where he was. This was where he personally first showed up.]

I'm on the beach at the ocean. Do you need me to come meet up with you somewhere?

[For some reason Iris came to mind and he knew he wouldn't want her running around on her own, Hunter or not.]

[She doesn't know anything about fishing so she wouldn't have known what might have been needed aside from a fishing implement, not that she knew where to get one of those. So it's a bit of a relief to be told she doesn't need to find anything.]

The beach. I know where that is! I'll head over right now.

I'll be here.

[He wasn't sure if anything was lurking around and didn't know if she could handle herself. But in case she did, he nodded.]

I'm Noctis, by the way.

[At least she knows the area a little better now. She doesn't anticipate any trouble getting to the beach, but since she's heading over, she decides to pack a couple bottles of water and a thing of cookies she'd found at the bar.]

I'm Omega. It's nice to meet you. Or it'll be nicer meeting you in person, anyway.

Nice to meet you too Omega.

[It was still weird to him that he was meeting new people when that was sort of the last thing he would've ever thought he was going to do. So he nodded.]

I'll see you when you get here.

I'll be there as soon as I can.

[It'll be a bit of a walk, but at least Echo's outpost is a little closer towards that edge of the city than the hotel is. Slinging her energy bow across her back, she picks up the bag she's packed and then starts off at a brisk pace for the beach. She doesn't want to tire herself out completely but neither does she want to make Noctis wait too long either, so she alternates between jogging and a fast walk until she's able to see the open sky and the purple sand once she gets further along the wooded path.]

Take your time.

[He leaves the device on just in case she needs help or something. In the meantime he's just busy restringing the line and casting out to ensure everything is in proper working order. And while he's busy with that, he keeps a look out for Omega.]

[It does take a while, but eventually movement is seen from further up the beach where the woods begin. Omega waves eagerly once she comes further out onto the beach enough to catch a glimpse of him.]

I'm here!

[Noctis hears her voice and turns to the sound. Okay, there she is, the girl in the video. So he lifts his arm and waves back, happy to see her safe and sound.]

Hey. Glad to see you made it.

[She jogs across the sand over to where he is, beaming.]

I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long. I brought some water and a snack, if you want any.

[He waved his hand dismissively.]

Nope, waiting was totally fine.

[But then he's intrigued.]

You brought snacks?

[That was something he never even did back home.]
