[There's a short burst of static as Altair fiddles with the still unfamiliar tech. He's more used to holocomms, though this isn't entirely that different. Given the usefulness of the thing, he's sure he'll get the hang of it eventually, anyway. For now? Just getting it to stay on voice in a network post he's made himself, rather than as a reply to someone else is an a small victory.]
Greetings, all. Some of you I have met before, but allow me to introduce myself properly- I am called Kallig and I come to you today with a question- those of you who have powers, have you noticed any changes in their nature, at all? If so, might I ask the nature of the change?
[A pause.] I was something of a... [Information hoarder.] Scholar, back home.
[Not a complete lie, definitely not the whole truth.] You all might see then, why I thrive on information.
I thought it prudent to check in with you all.
If we are being tossed together to see what'll stick, then we should probably try to get to know each other enough to not wish harm on one another in the future.
Knowing if any of you are used to or not used to interstellar travel, that would be useful to know as well.

I'm used to interstellar travel...I can pilot a ship, but I'll need some help.

There are several of us, so I'm certain we'll manage to help you with whatever it is you need help with.

I've got a coupla months of interstellar travel under my belt. I used to be able to pilot these things - but I think I lost it in the transfer.
So - how about you? Interstellar travel veteran, or not?
no subject
And I'm something of the sort, I suppose. These ships are very different from the Fury, but back home I've been traveling from planet to planet for a few years now.
no subject
That's more experience'n me. My first trip to outer space was less than a year ago. But I'd like to think I've got the idea down all right. I'm pretty adaptable.
What did you study?
no subject
[He's more or less like that, himself.]
Archaeology was my main area of study, though I've poked my nose into a few others, as well.
no subject
[The grin is pretty audible in his voice.]
Huh. Sounds pretty interesting. Was that part of the travel?
[He can't imagine trying to keep the history of multiple planets straight, but then, he is not the academic in this conversation.]
no subject
[There's just a slight hint of humor to his voice.]
It was. The Empire is a large place, and Sith do so love to hide their temples and tombs away in the strangest of places. So it was part trying to locate the damned places, and then proceeded to become part reclaiming history, part trying to not get horribly murdered by traps.
no subject
[That gets a laugh.] It sure wasn't boring.
[He hasn't heard of an Empire or Sith - in that context - so it's probably a universe, well, other than his own. Although honestly, to Bucky, that makes it doubly interesting.] That sounds like it's a lot more dangerous than most archaeologists have it, where I'm from.
Unless you believe the movies, anyway.
[Someone's mentioned something called Indiana Jones to him, at least.]
Although it seems like you might have some pretty decent survival skills going for all that, then.

I can't say whether my speed is messed up or anything. Because not enough food and the like. But yeah, I used to be able to fuck with stuff to make it explode and now it's not doing that! At worst things crack. It's a mess!
no subject
Fuck with stuff and make it explode, how exactly?
[There's the slightest hint of relief to his voice though, that it's not just him. But that hint is only really noticeable if you really listen for it.]
If things still crack though, it sounds as though your power has only weakened, not disappeared completely.
[...] As for the situation with food, it's still a work in progress, I suppose.
[He's often out in the greenhouse, himself. Though he tends to slip in and out rather unnoticed, preferring to work by himself.]
no subject
[As if that is the only way it could ever been done. AS for the hint? Well, it's not like Tommy would care to listen for it. Duh. That would be boring.]
Dude, I could make things explode. Cracking is just really messed up and useless. And I farm tons, so there's food, but I can probably eat as much in a day as maybe taking half the population here who aren't, you know, super-soldiers.
no subject
[Staying positive? Possibly. Still, he understands the frustration.]
... There are super-soldiers here?
no subject
[Plural. All three of them that can claim to be a Captain. America, America, and Marvel. They're definitely super.]
no subject
[So much confusion. Is he supposed to have met them? Or even know who they are. The way it was said makes him think the answer to that is yes, but...]

[He knows he's still a force to be reckoned with, but that doesn't mean he's not annoyed about and concerned about the changes.]
And I can't speak for everyone else, of course, but it seems to be something of a trend.

But mostly he's relieved.]

Yeah, there's been some changes to the way they work: they don't.
[There's that sigh.]
Well, not as well as they should, anyway. Usually I can absorb ambient radiant energy to fuel my photon blasts but this is like trying to suck it through a straw. I think this planet's atmosphere is fucked.
[A beat, and then her tone shifts, a little lighter, but man, she is still annoyed by this power inhibition.] Carol, by the way. One of 'the Caps' Tommy was talking about.
no subject
[There's a pause.
He considers, thinks about it. Then sighs.] Well, let's just say that I'm not unfamiliar with planets like this one.
[...]
You're the "shiny" one, then? Since there are no speeches forthcoming.
[There's just the tiniest touch of humor to his voice, at that.]
no subject
Heh. That's me.
What do you know about planets like this, then? How'd it work where you're from, and is there a way to stop it?
no subject
I doubt this planet is the same as the one I'm familiar with.
