01 Network; Voice

[There's a short burst of static as Altair fiddles with the still unfamiliar tech. He's more used to holocomms, though this isn't entirely that different. Given the usefulness of the thing, he's sure he'll get the hang of it eventually, anyway. For now? Just getting it to stay on voice in a network post he's made himself, rather than as a reply to someone else is an a small victory.]

Greetings, all. Some of you I have met before, but allow me to introduce myself properly- I am called Kallig and I come to you today with a question- those of you who have powers, have you noticed any changes in their nature, at all? If so, might I ask the nature of the change?

[A pause.] I was something of a... [Information hoarder.] Scholar, back home.

[Not a complete lie, definitely not the whole truth.] You all might see then, why I thrive on information.




I thought it prudent to check in with you all.

If we are being tossed together to see what'll stick, then we should probably try to get to know each other enough to not wish harm on one another in the future.

Knowing if any of you are used to or not used to interstellar travel, that would be useful to know as well.

I'm not sure if concerned is the word for it, but apparently I am not the only one who's noticed changes to the way their powers function.

[goldenglasses]

What sort of changes have you noticed?

[kallig]

My own powers seem... Weakened. Take more out of me.

[He knows he's still a force to be reckoned with, but that doesn't mean he's not annoyed about and concerned about the changes.]

And I can't speak for everyone else, of course, but it seems to be something of a trend.

[goldenglasses]

Oh, that! [That was something Vash forgets about. After a few years he has gotten use to feeling weaker than he should be.] Yes. That I've noticed as well.

[kallig]

Worrisome. But I suppose I am glad it's not only me.

[If he was, he's certain he could manage enough anger to level at least a building. So it could have been helpful.

But mostly he's relieved.]

[goldenglasses]

Yeah. It's been years since I first felt weaker and at the level I am now that I forget that it's a new feeling for others. It's just my new normal now.

[kallig]

... I certainly hope this won't become a "new normal" for me.

[goldenglasses]

Hard to say! I've seen people come and go quickly but then others who stick around for years.

[kallig]

I assume if I asked you to tell me more of this coming and going thing we would both be talking for a while?

[He is interested, after all. He's nothing if not a hoarder of knowledge.]

[goldenglasses]

That is possible, but most of my knowledge comes from the fleet. The rules might be different here. Although rules might not be the right word for it. It all seemed so random when people would stay for years at a time and then vanish the next.

[kallig]

I would like to hear more about this fleet, admittedly. As I said, I am a type of scholar, and knowledge is the most valuable resource of all.

[Still, this fleet, and this world, are two separate places, two separate entities so to speak, and dealing with the one breathing down their necks is more important.]

Still I suppose it remains to be seen, who stays, and who goes, if it indeed stays the same here... A thing I will be trying to track, certainly.

[He finds himself missing Lana... As the Minister of Sith Intelligence, she's got a better eye for such things than he does. Still, even if it's not something he's used to, all information is useful in some way or another. And he's nothing if not a quick study.]

I hope you're able to figure it out. I was so close to getting home again, but it feels like I've gotten lost on the way back or something.

[kallig]

You have my sincere sympathy.

[He's serious about that. He's still enraged about being here but to have been in another unfamiliar place first, and then ending up here rather than home... That must be awful.]

[goldenglasses]

Eh. [Vash waves a hand in front of his face.] It hasn't been all bad. I got to see some amazing places and meet even more amazing people.

[kallig]

... Silver linings, I suppose.

[He doesn't think he could ever put such a positive spin on it- even if he has met some fascinating individuals here.]

If you do hear anything else concerning about powers I would love to hear it.
