Party at the Blue Bantha!

WHO: Everyone!
WHERE: The Blue Bantha in Coruscant's entertainment district
WHAT: A party!
WHEN: The last day before they leave.
WARNINGS: Fun times? Probably drunkenness.

After having found this place on an outing with Echo, Obi-Wan had decided he rather liked this one particular establishment they stopped at. So for their last evening on Coruscant, the Jedi had the place rented out. A network post also going up inviting everyone for one last hurrah before they have to go back to Temba.

Welcome to the Blue Bantha Bar and Grill!

Everything is very blue. A bright blue neon sign advertises the joint in the entertainment district. Its letters in Aurebesh with a little bantha head shaped neon light next to it as well. The lighting inside is distinctly blue as well. There is a mounted bantha head placed on the far wall above the bar, its fur having been dyed blue. Clearly it is the mascot of this place.

There are tables and booths in varying locations for people to sit. With the tables having bantha hide rugs under them that look reminiscent of shag carpet, while the booth seats have bantha hide upholstery as well. There's a band playing in one corner with space for people to dance. While on another side there are screens broadcasting sporting events from across the galaxy. Feel free to place bets on who you think will win!

Even the staff are either blue, or are wearing blue. It won't be uncommon to have a blue scantily clad Twi'lek waitress serving you. The long bar also has blue neon lighting with several stools to sit at, in which you can order whatever drink your heart desires on their menu.

Speaking of the menu, everything is made with bantha products. That is what they specialize in. Several types of Jawa Juice, a kind of beer made from fermented grains mashed in bantha hides, can be found here. As well as Bantha Blood Fizz, a sparkling drink made from purified bantha blood in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic varieties. And of course they serve several drinks featuring blue milk, from just the plain stuff to several alcoholic concoctions. There is also food of course! Bantha steak, bantha burgers, bantha stew, and other meat dishes are served as it's pretty much this galaxy's equivalent of beef. You can even get desserts made from blue milk such as cheesecake and ice cream.

Have fun! The Temba group have this establishment all to themselves for the night!

"I mean, you DID intimidate guys out of fighting me, so yes? And you're tall, so you can like... put your hand on their head and just keep em away." He finds the idea highly amusing.

"Knives are intimidating too, yup. That's pretty hardcore for a bar fight, though."

"You know, I'm not used to men being taller than me," Sansa says. "I'm a very tall woman where I come from. Putting my hands on their heads might actually be very effective."

Sansa laughs a bit to herself. "You, however, are not shorter than me. It wouldn't work if I were trying to fight you."

Kyle grins. "Nope. I'm stupid tall. Good for getting things off of high shelves." He has naturally been used for this many times.

"But I wouldn't have a reason to fight you anyway, you're way too nice. And you're a mom, I feel like if I hit a mom mine would materialize out of nowhere to scream at me."

"Well, good to know we'll never fight," Sansa says with a laugh. "But it is nice to see someone taller than me. It's been a while since I have. I don't know what it is about the men in Westeros but they are not tall. I feel like a giant."

"Tall girls are great," Kyle enthuses. "You're totally not a giant, you're like... statuesque!" Oh, yes, he's just going to shovel on the compliments.

"You're an independent, statuesque woman who don't need no man!" Oh, lord.

Sansa laughs a little harder at that. "Well, having a man sometimes would be all right even if I didn't need one. But thank you for telling me that I'm statuesque. I don't think anyone has ever described me that way, honestly. I think people have described me as a statue though."

She goes a little quiet. "I don't get to be anything but ivory as a queen. No emotions. Nothing but cool logic."

"Yeah," he agrees. "Men can be good."

He looks at her curiously. "That's too bad," he says. "Because you seem warm, to me. I mean, I don't know you well, but that was my first impression."

"Warm? Well, I suppose you get the luxury of seeing the true me," Sansa says, thinking about it for a moment.

"When you are a queen - or a king, I don't think sex matters - you have to meet certain expectations. People don't want their king to cry or to have moments where he is frustrated. They want their king to always know what to say and what to do. In my world, women aren't respected the way they are here. I have to work doubly hard to be respected as a queen. I cannot cry, I cannot show joy...I have to be the strength they want reflected in all ways. I'm not queen because of my own merit. I'm queen because of who my father was. It's nice here where people can just see me. I have no one I can be friends with among my people. No one can see me as I am."

"You can't be a person." Kyle thinks about that for a moment. "That's one of the saddest things I've ever heard. Because you're so, so much more than just some figure for the people."

He touches her shoulder gently. "Well. As long as we're here, you just be you, right? I don't know your dad, and I don't care about kings and queens aside from in fiction. And I bet nobody else does, either."

"Then you have to deal with just Sansa, then, who has a baby that doesn't sleep and dark circles under eyes," Sansa teases. James has actually drifted off to sleep for now and she's glad for it. If she can keep him asleep for a little while, she might get to sleep too.

"And Sansa is going to keep you from getting into fights," she warns. "It never ends well, I promise. There's better things to do than fight with people we'll never see again."

"That's fine by me." He looks at the sleeping child and grins. "Who knows, maybe he'll sleep SUPER good once we get back to Agra."

He holds up his hands in mock surrender. "Okay, okay," he says. "You're right. I know you are. I just have a really rotten temper."

"I hope he's happier on Agra. He was as a smaller boy," Sansa says. "He slept fairly well, actually. Unfortunately, I come with him, so to be friends with me is to be friends with him."

And, besides, she wants nothing to do with someone who isn't fond of James.

"You seem good with children, though."

"I don't think that's unfortunate."

He beams. "Years of practice. I had my little brother, Ike, and then once I got older I spent a few summers as a camp counselor. Which is like, uh, people send their kids to like, cabins in the woods and they learn how to go camping and swimming and stuff."

"Why would people send their children to the woods to learn how to camp and swim? Do they not have woods where they live?"

It seems strange to Sansa but then she thinks about it for a moment. "Ah, but if you live on a city planet, you wouldn't have woods. Hmm. Did you like that? Being in the woods?"

"Yeah, some didn't, and for others it's just sort of a way for parents to get their kids out of the way for a few weeks, honestly."

He nods. "I grew up in a small town so I was always close to the woods," he explains. "But I did like it, for the most part. It's quiet."

"I wouldn't want James away from me for any amount of time. However, most of the time highborn families send their sons off to foster with another house. It's so they can learn from another lord about how things are run and not just from their own lord father," Sansa explains.

James is heavy against her hip and she chances moving him to the other. "I want to keep him with me."

"You say that now, heh. Wait until he's like, ten years old and causing trouble." Kyle is unaware that the amount of trouble HE got into at that age might not be normal.

"But that's not the worst thing, for learning how to run a kingdom. Getting other perspectives is really important. You know, I learned something... if you get too caught up in your own ideas about what's right, you can really hurt a lot of people."

He looks at James. "Hey, did you want to put him to bed? I can walk you back to the ships."

Other perspectives are always good and something she tries to obtain as queen as much as she can without seeming weak to her council and to her lords. It's good to hear other ideas, things you don't see on your own. She finds herself nodding along with that until Kyle mentions putting James to bed.

"Oh, we probably should. He's sleeping deeply now and if we don't put him down, he won't sleep and I'll be right back where I was. I appreciate the help."

"Hey, no problem." He stuffs his hands in his pockets as he falls into step beside her. The fact that she's tall means not having to shorten his strides, which is pleasant.

"I mean it's not like I can't go back to the party later if I wanna. I don't think of myself as a party guy in general, but I figured when am I gonna be here again, you know?"

He looks up at the sky for a moment. It's hard to see the stars with all of the light pollution, but the few he can see are different than the ones he knows. "It's weird, knowing you're just somewhere you never heard of. I imagine a bunch of people feel a bit like you - free of expectations. You can be anybody."

"I can be anyone," she agrees. "And it's not limited because I'm a mother or a woman or anything. There's something comforting in that. There's nothing...I have to be who I am back home. The people need me to be a certain way. Here, though, I can be myself and have any emotions I need or want."

As to going back to the party, well. "You don't have to go back to the party if you don't want to. I'll be awake for a while yet. Of course, if you find my company boring, feel free to leave me to go back to the party. I would absolutely understand."

Kyle looks at Sansa and smiles. "Exactly. Feel your feelings."

His smile widens a little more. "You're totally not boring! If you don't mind, I'd love to hang out. It's nice to get to talk to someone."

"I'd like to get to talk to you more as well," Sansa says. It's easier in this place with friends and if Kyle hadn't had many before her, she's endeavored to make herself his friend regardless - for a given value of make.

"You seem...well, you're not so far past me that I can't talk to you. You're not a scientist or a hero or anything like that. You're like me. You're just a person."

"Oh man, I'm so much JUST a person I'll bore you to death!" He shakes his head.

"But I'll happily bore you." Wait, that sounds terrible. "With life stories. Uh. You know what I meant."

"You're not going to bore me, Kyle," Sansa insists, laughing softly. "You're from a completely different place than I am, to start, and secondly it would be very rude to say I was bored by you. That's not very friendly."

Sansa has met plenty of people more boring than Kyle.

"Before I came back here, I spent most of my time having to talk to old men all day about how to not change things. You're refreshing."

"Aw, don' ever feel like you have to be polite," he says. "Seriously. Being able to tell your friends when they're being stupid or boring is part of being friends."

Kyle rolls his eyes. "I understand that. It's like, dude. You're almost dead, just let me do what I wanna do for the world, I'm stuck in it longer than you will be."
