Party at the Blue Bantha!

WHO: Everyone!
WHERE: The Blue Bantha in Coruscant's entertainment district
WHAT: A party!
WHEN: The last day before they leave.
WARNINGS: Fun times? Probably drunkenness.

After having found this place on an outing with Echo, Obi-Wan had decided he rather liked this one particular establishment they stopped at. So for their last evening on Coruscant, the Jedi had the place rented out. A network post also going up inviting everyone for one last hurrah before they have to go back to Temba.

Welcome to the Blue Bantha Bar and Grill!

Everything is very blue. A bright blue neon sign advertises the joint in the entertainment district. Its letters in Aurebesh with a little bantha head shaped neon light next to it as well. The lighting inside is distinctly blue as well. There is a mounted bantha head placed on the far wall above the bar, its fur having been dyed blue. Clearly it is the mascot of this place.

There are tables and booths in varying locations for people to sit. With the tables having bantha hide rugs under them that look reminiscent of shag carpet, while the booth seats have bantha hide upholstery as well. There's a band playing in one corner with space for people to dance. While on another side there are screens broadcasting sporting events from across the galaxy. Feel free to place bets on who you think will win!

Even the staff are either blue, or are wearing blue. It won't be uncommon to have a blue scantily clad Twi'lek waitress serving you. The long bar also has blue neon lighting with several stools to sit at, in which you can order whatever drink your heart desires on their menu.

Speaking of the menu, everything is made with bantha products. That is what they specialize in. Several types of Jawa Juice, a kind of beer made from fermented grains mashed in bantha hides, can be found here. As well as Bantha Blood Fizz, a sparkling drink made from purified bantha blood in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic varieties. And of course they serve several drinks featuring blue milk, from just the plain stuff to several alcoholic concoctions. There is also food of course! Bantha steak, bantha burgers, bantha stew, and other meat dishes are served as it's pretty much this galaxy's equivalent of beef. You can even get desserts made from blue milk such as cheesecake and ice cream.

Have fun! The Temba group have this establishment all to themselves for the night!

Kyle looks over at Sansa as they approach their ships. "None of that is fair," he says vehemently. The very injustice of the situation makes him angry at these men, regardless of the fact that they aren't there.

"What kind of person WOULD you have chosen? If you could have?"

Sansa thinks about it for a moment. "Someone kind. Someone who cared about me. It wouldn't matter what he looked like, not anymore. I know the younger me wanted someone handsome but I think it's less about that and more about being treated well. My baby's father treated me well, even if the marriage was arranged. But I was in another marriage and I was treated..."

She swallows a bit, not really wanting to relive that. "I was with someone who used my body without considering that I was in it. I don't want that again. I want someone who likes just Sansa and not what my lands and titles give him. He'd have to like James, too."

Kyle stumbles a little bit upon hearing Sansa's words. He grew up in a good home, but he's not a fool and he knows perfectly well what the implication is.

"I'm sorry," he says. It feels small and stupid and cannot possibly convey how much he wishes that the past could be altered. But what else can he possibly say?

"You deserve so much better," he says sincerely. "And you can have that, I think. Just-Sansa seems pretty fucking cool to me. And James is awesome, clearly." He pretends to think about it, then grins. "I think you could shoot for handsome, too. I'm sure some decent guys out there have to be good looking."

"Sometimes people are good looking because you care about them," Sansa says softly. "I've learned that. But the other things are more important to me than looks. Far more."

They've reached the ships and Vanquish is sitting there waiting for her to go in and put James to bed. "You could stay a while once I get him into bed? I'm not tired yet, strangely enough."

"Yeah. I understand that."

Kyle rocks back on his heels, hands in his pockets. "I'd like that," he says. "I'd get the door for you, but... spaceship."

"Spaceship. Still, it's appreciated," Sansa says, waiting for the ship to recognize her and let her in along with Kyle behind her. She isn't so very used to this ship, having spent so much more time on the Twin Roses, but she'll learn to love it the same as she had that one.

"I'm hoping he'll sleep better once we're home and there's not so much to look at all the time," she says, nodding at James. "If not, I'll still be half dead walking around but it'll be all right. I'm a survivor."

Kyle looks around - as a member of the Bloodsport crew, he's curious about how different the other ships are. This one seems a little bit nicer, less utilitarian.

"I'm sure he will. He's just adapting. Hell, I slept like shit when I first arrived and I'm an adult." He follows along, watching as Sansa gets James ready to be put down.

It doesn't take long to get James actually into his little bed (bigger now, than the bassinet she used to use but still small all the time) and luckily he's out like a light. Good. He needed to cry everything out, she thinks, and now he'll sleep for a good long while.

"Mm, yes. I've spent a good portion of my life learning how to operate on very little sleep. It was all preparation for having a child, I think. I'm a natural." It's a little sarcastic, yes, but there's some truth in it - Sansa can do quite a bit on very little sleep. "Why did you have trouble sleeping when you got here?"

James is a cute little kid, there's no arguing with that. "Night, buddy," Kyle says softly before turning his full attention back to Sansa.

"That's like, the shittiest superpower to have." He rubs the back of his head, mussing his hair even further if possible. "Aw, just... getting used to it all. I'm a little high strung, I guess."

"It's hard to get used to all of this at first," Sansa agrees. "It was for me. My home is very different, as you can imagine. When I came to the fleet the very first time, I was injured and afraid. It was hard to sleep then because I didn't trust anyone. Some of those people who helped me then are still here now and...well, this is a place you can sleep without being worried so much. I know it doesn't help if you're already high strung, though. Besides, if you can't sleep, you can always come and be with me. I'm probably not asleep."

"You'll be my insomnia pal?" he asks with a grin. "Awesome."

Kyle thinks for a moment. "You know, weirdly, I feel safe, more or less, when I sleep. Maybe because I got real used to people breaking into my room when I was a kid. But mostly I just have a hard time making my brain shut up. Over-thinking stuff."

“People broke into your room? Why ever would that happen? I grew up in a castle so there were always servants but breaking in sounds different,” Sansa says. It’s a little concerning, actually.

Kyle waves it off. "Well, mostly just one guy," he says. As if that makes it better. "I tried changing the locks when I got older, but somehow that fat fuck managed it anyway, so I just kind of gave up."

"He must have really been determined to be in your room," Sansa says, frowning a little. "I wouldn't have stood for it. You know, I had a pet wolf when I was younger," she explains.

"And I don't think anyone would want to deal with the ire of a direwolf snapping at them. If Lady ever shows back up here and you suddenly have issues with...that person? Well, I'm happy to loan her out for you."

"Yeah, yeah he was." The question why remains an eternal mystery. (Or one Kyle is dead set against unraveling anyway.)

"Holy shit, a dire wolf? Those are extinct where I'm from, they died out like ten thousand years ago!" God, he's such a nerd. "Her name was Lady? That's so cool, dude. I'd take you up on that, it'd be hilarious." Kyle smiles happily, imagining his childhood rival being chased by a huge wolf, and then just the sort of upbringing where having a huge predator as a pet is normal.

"Man, I didn't even have a dog as a kid."

"The direwolf is the sigil of House Stark. We were lucky enough to find puppies when we were young," Sansa says.

"Lady died when I was still a girl but the last time I was in space, she was here with me. The Agrii let me have her...I suppose because they knew I would need her to feel safe. She did make me feel very safe. She's also an excellent judge of people."

The idea of direwolf puppies is too cute to handle.

"So she might not bite me?" Kyle asks, grinning. "I do generally have good intentions."

Sansa smiles back and shakes her head a bit. "No, she wouldn't bite you. I like you. She never bites people that I like and she usually tries to protect them too. Now, if you were to hurt me...that'd be a different story."

She shakes her head again. "But you wouldn't. Perhaps I've been guilty of poor judgment in my life but I don't think I'm wrong on this one. I think you're good."

"I do solemnly swear I have NO intention of hurting you," he says. He's smiling but his eyes are very serious.

"I try to be. Don't always succeed."

"No one can be perfect. I'm sure you succeed when it counts the most," Sansa says, giving him a smile. "And that's what's important. I've hurt people too. Possibly been hurt more than doing the hurting but I've dealt out my share. It's all right when there's no intention behind it - sometimes you just don't mean to and you screw it up. Sometimes you're like me and just pick the wrong people to trust."

Kyle really isn't so sure about that - he's done some pretty awful things in the past, even if his intentions were good.

"Sometimes, yeah," he says softly. "You know, it's really easy to pick the wrong people, especially when you're not a bad person. You just assume everyone has good in them."

"Or, if you're like me, you have to believe that there's an end to the bad and you trust someone. Getting hurt after that...well, it's just more reason to become a statue again. I don't, though. Not here. I want to be a true person here. I want to be the kind of woman I might have been if I hadn't been dealt my life," she explains.

"I have to be a queen there. I don't have to be anyone but me here. It's a little less safe, I suppose, but I owe it to myself, I think."

"...do you want a hug?" It sounds even stupider out loud than it did in his head, but goddammit it's really the only thing he can think of that might help. A lifetime of hugging his sad sack of a best friend has conditioned him to offer physical comfort.

Sansa doesn't expect it but when Kyle offers it, there's nothing more that she wants than a hug. She nods slowly.

"I'd really like that, actually. If you didn't mind it?"

"Nah, I'm a champion hugger," he says with a grin. He opens his arms and just enfolds her in his admittedly thin arms. Sure, she's practically a stranger, but she's just as far from home as he is.
