Lost Lion. Please Help?

This was certainly not the last place that Shiro remembered being. He had last remembered returning to Earth and ending up with his new robotic arm. As he stood there for a long moment, wracking his brain, there wasn't much more after that. Certainly, there wasn't enough he would have suddenly found himself here in a world that seemed far more dilapidated than the Garrison was with far fewer technologies.

The information that suddenly came to him was certainly helpful, but very disturbing to him. After all, what had most of his recent life been like other than some other being deciding he needed to be somewhere that he didn't consent to going?

Typical.

But Shiro was out in the town and exploring. Sure, he had the device and he did pause a few times to review it, specifically looking at the map more than anything else, but still, he'd rather see them for himself. After he had figured out where he was going, he could see if there was anything that he could assist with. If he was going to be here, might as well do something productive.

Shiro had just been walking along, examining the different buildings when there was suddenly someone in front of him. He took a step back from shock, not having expected that. Had he... been there before and Shiro just hadn't noticed until now? He had been looking at other buildings. Maybe he had just missed him being there...?

"Hey. Nice to meet you, Tommy. I'm Shiro." He couldn't help but snicker in amusement at the comment of 'welcome to bullshit'. "Hmm... I guess I'll try... a cyanana?"

Sounded interesting.

Hey, at least he still had it going on enough to make the guy snicker.

"Hold on, don't want to drop everything."

Tommy is gone in a blur of green and white. And then he's immediately back, as if he hadn't left, a small dustdevil kicked up in the air behind him where the rush of pressure from him leaving and returning left the winds blowing. Perhaps things will make more sense then. Or perhaps it will from the fact that now Tommy's only holding one blue banana and a mushroom. The former he holds out, the other he takes a bite of.

"Shiro. Cool name. You new-new to Temba, or did I just fail to notice you recently?"

Shiro opened his mouth to say something then stopped himself when the other seemingly out of nowhere kicked up a small dust cloud and appeared holding that blue banana and a mushroom while not holding what he had a moment ago. Ah... so he was... superhumanly fast? That seemed to make sense.

"Thanks," Shiro said taking the banana and peeling it so that he could try it. He was used to weird foods now, but it still took a moment when something wasn't quite right. "New to Temba. I have barely even had the chance to walk all the way around this place."

"You can eat the peel, it's good for you," Tommy offers as an off-hand thought. New, huh? That sucks. Being new is hard, always has been, probably always will be.

"It's a large place, even for me." Tommy explains. "You probably haven't even picked a place to sleep yet. That's fair. Best place to start tends to be the ships, until you can get a place comfortable for yourself. I've been here since the Agrii brought us, so I guess I could give you advice if you want."

"Oh? You can?" Shiro looked at the cyanana again. Well, when in Rome... So that was what he did. Even though he had been told what it tasted like, his mind was still expecting the sweet flavor of a banana so the pickle flavor was a surprise and he couldn't help but make a face at it. It wasn't... bad, but a surprise for the senses.

"Nah, haven't quite gotten to that part yet. I'll have to check it out. I'm sure the ship will be plenty comfortable given some of the places I've been.

If you have any advice that you think someone should know, I'd appreciate that."

The ship. Comfy. Tommy winces at the very idea. Seems suspicious to him, but he'll take it. So, notes, what sorta of notes does he have?

"First things first: meals are available at the diner three times a day. Outside of that, I leave whatever leftover stew is on present for people to eat. But the ships have protein pastes, and that's good for other calories. Uh, there's hotsprings in the caves by the lake but looking at you..."

He eyes Shiro for a second, and then gestures to his arm.

"Might be a bad idea. It's known to supercharge some things. My brother's magic, my speed, probably Aunt Wanda and Lorna's powers too. Even Cal's Force powers. So you might not want to risk it with the tech you're wearing. If you feel yourself super itchy and angry, try and find Jon or Wanda or Billy before you lose your mind with rage and start to kill people or destroy things. Basically, treat the world like a bad episode of Star Trek and you'll probably be safe."

Eh, he'd prefer larger spaces, but if he had to, he could make do. Being a pilot in space trained you to live in small spaces. Experience with the Galra led him to appreciate the little things.

Shiro listened to everything that he had to say. The first part was fairly normal it seemed. Supercharging powers at the hot springs was... unique and since he still didn't know everything that his arm could do, he was right; it was probably best to leave it.

But the last part...

"Is... that a common thing here?"

Small spaces weren't something Tommy was doing very well with most of the time, but he supposed he was doing a bit better now.

"Things going bad? Yeah. The rage bugs? They only hit a few of us. We mostly try to avoid the things."

"Rage... bugs? Is it like a disease or an actual insect that attacks you and causes you to become angry like that?"

Because these are important things to know so that Shiro would be able to watch out for them either way.

"Actual parasites," Tommy answers. Which is pretty bad.

So yeah, he was warning him for a reason. The things had been bad. And Tommy had to be extra careful given the fact that now that hew as back, his powers were that much more dangerous.

"They haven't had much cause to go after us since we first apparently disturbed a colony."

"Hmm... that's good to know about. Thanks for letting me about them. It's always good to know about things that could do harm like that."

He sighed, crossing his arms... which looked odd with one of them being a floating disembodied arm.

"I guess there is always learning curve when showing up somewhere new."

No, it's not odd. It looks cool. Cool enough for Tommy to look the guy over again and smirk. Yeah, that's hot.

"Totally is. But the cool news is that mostly it happens in waves. Things calm down, then get bad. Oh, there is also the storms. You hear about those yet?"

Shiro was certainly glad that others liked the look of it. This arm was new so he wasn't used to it completely yet. His other one had had such bad associations, but this one... not so much.

"It's good that it seems to come in waves. Storms? No, I haven't heard about those."

Oh no. Tommy looks sadly toward Shiro's arm.

"That will probably temporarily fail during a storm. They're why the Agrii, or whoever, brought us. We're supposed to fix this place. The storms circle the planet. WHen they are here, it blows out most systems. Makes the Agrii sick, which is why they aren't here. But they also knock out power, and powers. Like me, I'm just human when those happen."

No speed.

Shiro frowned hearing that.

"Well... that's not going to be good." Whenever the storms were here, he was possibly going to be down one arm for the duration.

"No idea what causes them, I take it?"

"No. The point is to stop them. If we understood how it happened, it..."

Well, it would be easier, wouldn't it? They could go home. Tommy sighs, and his fingers card through his own snowy hair.

Then he gestures for Shiro's head.

"So you just gray early, or did you predict that you'd look good like that?"

"Yeah, I guess that would make sense. If you knew what caused them, it would probably be easier to stop them."

Though not necessarily.

He was quiet a moment at the question before answering. "I guess you could say that I went gray early, but mostly because of the influence of an alien race that wanted to take over and had no problems with injuring others."

Well, the fully going gray was because of trying to put his consciousness in a physical body, but that was because of them in the long run.

Oh, well, that sounds familiar enough that Tommy just smirks and nods along.

"I mean, my hair was white before aliens came to abduct my twin's boyfriend, who was apparently a space prince. But they weren't so hesitant on the whole messing with the Earth thing."

So he gets it, man, he gets it.

"You need a tour guide?"

"Funny. I'd never imagined how universal alien abductions and things like that were until all of this started. And of course, seems that it was for you as well."

It was not a pleasant thought really, that there was a race out there, across different worlds, that all had similar ideas.

"I wouldn't say no to one."

"I mean, it was only attempted abduction. And it's fine now. He rules his people," Tommy says with a shrug. Won't it be interesting if Shiro meets Teddy here and that comes up. Well, not that, but the whole time his people abducted him.

But now Tommy's smiling and nodding.

"Let's start with the important areas. Like the diner. Because food, man, it's always worth it."

"Still, attempted is better than it succeeding, but worse than it not happening at all. As someone who has lived through it." It would be interesting if they were able to have the chance to compare notes. Shiro was glad that it was only attempted, but again, felt it never happening was the better option.

He smiled at that comment. "Yeah, food is good. Hunk would certainly agree with you that food is worth it."

"Hunk?" Tommy asks, smirking. "You know a hunk? Wow, most people don't just talk about heart throbs around strangers."

Tommy turns, his hands in his pockets as he walks on, expecting Shiro to follow.

Shiro chuckled at that. "That's his name. He was a cadet at the Garrison. He enjoys cooking a lot. Always coming up with new things with the ingredients that we had."

Shiro did follow, walking alongside, glad that he wasn't running because there was no way he'd keep up with that.

Cadet. Garrison. Interesting words. They make no sense at all. Maybe space cadet? But not meaning what Tommy would think of it.

"So, first of all, there's the hotel. It's useful, because you can live there if you want. I suggest not going much higher than the sixth floor. Of course it's hard to get furniture in there and the steps are weird, so a lot of people convert other spaces for living."

He would certainly be correct about him being a space cadet, but since it hadn't been spoken, Shiro couldn't confirm or deny it.

"So that's the option other than the ships? Why no higher than the sixth floor? Because of the storms?
