Tan lines
Who: Jan Van Dyne, OTA
What: Working on her tan
When: Post Memory Storm Event
Where: Temba beach
Warnings: TBD, Slight nudity?
Having lived through her fist storm, Jan could say she didn't really like them. The sure cure that kind of trauma was almost always found poolside, sipping on a strong drink and making eyes at the newest pool boy. Before she do that, she needed to work on her tan.
And so Jan had hiked out to those pretty purple sands and found herself a spot, stretching out on a towel with a good romance novel in hand. Some time later, as she rolled onto her stomach and undid the straps of her top she felt a shadow block her sun and smirk.
"Make yourself useful and get my back?" she said without looking back, offering up bottle of suntan lotion.

"I'll put it on your tab," he still said, like he could pretend to have any dignity, and carefully brushed any sand from his hands before smoothing one down her back. "Friends and family discount, you know, save you a couple thousand, give or take, for the expertise."
no subject
"How generous," she laughed, "And what if I were generous enough have been working on getting some more variety into that wardrobe of yours, mm? What's my tab looking like then?"

"And we've never found ourselves in the gossip mill before now, have we?"

But, okay, he'll slather her on with some sunscreen for safety, though he's not even sure how strong the sun is here.

"You come out here looking for me, or just for the view?" she asks, looking out towards the water and the waves hitting the purple sand with a soft look.

And then she can't tell if she's being teased right back, laughing and glancing at her untied straps before shaking her head. "I think I'm good. Finished at least three chapters so far, so...about that long."

Which leaves him standing there awkwardly. Because, well, it's Janet Van Dyne. It's just inherently awkward.
"Um, you sure you want me to do that?" he asks. Like, he's her ex-husbands sorta great-grandson. Is that weird? This is weird.
no subject
"It's just lotion. I can do it myself," she says, moving to hold the front of her top in place with an arm so she can sit up and navigate the act herself, looking amused at Tommy's reluctance. "Am I that old all ready? People are going to start giving me that look when I ask for help?"
no subject
But damn his eyes are definitely looking skyward when he realizes her top is not tied. Even if she WASN'T sorta a founder of the Avengers, and older than him, and had history with the family and and and, he was still a guy seeing someone, and seeing any person even partially naked was not cool. And if she slipped on her grip for even a second, he'd see it, no matter how fast she was.
"Not most people. Just, you know. Me. Maybe Billy. Actually, probably not Billy. Dude has a lot of chill in strange places."
no subject
Well this was why she wanted help, Tommy. But she's done this plenty of times, she's not going to flash you, don't worry. She just doesn't want tan lines.
"So just you then?"
no subject
Though really, are tan lines that much of a sin?
"So just me then. Maybe. I can't guarantee," Tommy points out. "I know. I'm weird. Too much time to think. Speedster pitfall."
no subject
"You're less blunt that your Uncle. But I can see the resemblance. Plenty of foot in mouth action. So- if you're not going to help me, you can at least get me up to speed. How've you been?"

Well, leave it to Knuckles to get in a strange situation when he's walking around occupied with thoughts about the Storm.

But given how it...he?- just stares at the bottle she wonders if maybe they don't speak English.
"...or don't." She motions for him to hand it back.
no subject
He flushes, just as glad to hand it back. "Were you expecting someone?" he wonders, not used to the idea of someone just asking anyone to do it.

"Have you been here long?" he asks.
no subject
"Since around the time of those weird monsters with the flower petal heads?" So a while now.
"Or the beach? Not quite a long as that."
