[Network Video]
[It took her a while of observation and consideration before her decision to do this, but really, this seems the most effective method of going about what needs to happen. So hey, here's a nice video posted to the network by a woman in a labcoat, clearly in one of the rooms of the hospital, sitting in a chair and with all those lovely background noises of hospital equipment.
So sue her, it's the ambient noise she enjoys the best when she can't have her music.]
Good afternoon all. I have at this point only been able to meet a small number of you, but I feel it is important to have the word out as soon as possible given what I have learned. So here it is, on this forum thing.
My name is Tae Takemi, and I'm your new primary care physician.
[Actually, she has to stop and smirk at that fact, because yes, that's a weird thing to declare herself for an entire community, but it's not like they have any other choices.]
While I doubt people always look into the credentials for their new GPs, I'm content to provide some here. I graduated third in my year at the University of Tokyo, and while my specializations are in medical research and compounding Pharmaceuticals, I have spent the last while as a GP in the Yongen-Jaya district of Tokyo. My hand compounded drugs have been sold at multiple hospitals around the city.
All of this is to say I'm a highly trained and qualified medical professional, and I've been told I'm the first dedicated doctor that you've had. Possibly in years. Which means you're all due for check-ups. I would expect to see people in for initial consultations and wellness exams over the next month, and I will be asking for medical history.
[With that she sighs and shakes her head.]
Listen, I know this isn't ideal for anyone, but what it comes down to is that I'm now responsible for your health, so anything you can do to make that easier on us both will be appreciated. My bedside manner isn't always the best, but I'm what you've got right now. I will of course be happy to respect those people who wish to continue to see the medics you've had until this point, but I will also be seeking to work with them to ensure people receive the best medical care we can.
Payment will be accepted in the form of medical supplies. This is accepted as things noted to be medicinally useful from the greenhouses as well as written instructions on what they are used for and how to prepare them, or in the form of one of your replicator rations so that I can replicate other needed items. If you are non-human, then payment is expected in the form of me picking your brain for anything I can glean about your biology to better treat you.
Or payment can be running errands because I'll take any excuse not to walk across these ruins to pick up lunch. And if you're one of those people with this 'communications' or 'engineering' specalizations, well, we'll talk. I've got some things I need set up.
Finally, in any emergency situation, please reach out to my comm directly. Any hour acceptable, just make sure it's a legit emergency.
[She doesn't seem to have a good way to end this, so she just turns off the video, posts the message to the network, and waits for any comments or visitors. What else can a woman do?]

Rude alien kidnappers.
A hospital, clearly. My immediate concern is for the important machinery. I've noted a lack of diagnostic scanning devices, an x-ray, and a operating theater. Not to mention basic tools. What do you do?
no subject
You're going to have to narrow the scope of the project, at least to start with. If we only have one 'dedicated doctor', you can imagine how strapped we are for electron guns.

Oh and, uh— I guess I'm not human. If knowledge is sufficient trade, I'm no halo tech from HIOT or something, but I do know a few things.
[Audio]
And yes, knowledge is sufficient trade, even if it is basically just me looking for more information to use to take care of you later.

Where did you say you were set up?

Okay meaning what? And are those ears meant to say that you're not human?

[Link had thought this was the task she was requesting. Along with picking up her lunch, apparently. So he said okay.]

Do I look like I'm capable, or willing, of drawing people into my office on my own?
That said, are you really so eager to make sure that I'm not ready to take care of you when you get sick or injured?

[She does have that look about her.]
M'fine now. Don't really see the point if I'm not bleeding out.

I'm Jonathan Sims and I'm the one that has been keeping the hospital stocked with what medication is present. I will admit it's mostly painkillers and I'm by far no trained professional.
[ Just an old habit paired with plain knowledge. ]
You were requesting the assistance of someone with the communications specialization?
no subject
You, Mr Sims, are welcome for appointments at no charge thanks to that. I've found them and the stock gives me some relief.
And yes. I need to start formulating record keeping suitable for a medical setting, and I need no only help setting something up, but making it secure.

Hi. I've only been here a few months and I was in a doctor's care shortly before I came over here.
[He gives a winning smile.]
Right now I'm in perfect physical health, aside from a grape allergy that should be in the records here.
[His emotional health is another matter.]
Welcome to our humble city!

I'll need your name so I can note that down. And your medical history. And to check if you're getting proper nutrition here.

[ It's a miracle he'd even seen what he did of the post, actually, The only reason he'd found the network was he was playing around with the buttons on the communicator to see what all they did. ]
What d'ya mean medical history?
no subject
A history of your illnesses and conditions, as well as those of your immediate family that may affect you.

are you a blood mage? picking someone's brain sounds like blood magic stuff
i can bring you elfroot and some other herbs from the house of green. i grew them here from my own world, thedas
no subject
I do work with blood, but only testing. And I don't know what you mean by 'blood mage' other than to ask if you've read a lot of fantasy novels. And picking someone's brain is jargon for getting information.
What's elfroot?

Do I look like I'm someone capable of forcing people to come to an appointment against their will? That's not how medicine works. If you don't show up, that's less work for me.
Also, how old is that burn?
