Hey all!

[Are you shocked to see Tommy? Probably not. Someone said something about cooking, of course he's going to weigh in. At least the video is a rather stationary thing, his comm clearly propped up on a counter in the diner's kitchen.]

I don't know about you, but I'm in for the idea of us getting some good food in us. Maybe we can talk too when we're there? If we're going.

Anyway, gonna say that the diner is pretty stocked up and I'm happy to be prep assistant on any cooking in the Diner. Just remember Diner Rules. Don't be a dick and all of that.

And anyone cooking has to promise to help carry their own shit to the thing.

[Says the guy currently, on screen, cutting a tuber with enough speed that his hands are a literal blur.]

So, uh, food time? We could use it?

... Wow. That's useful.

[Tommy snorts at the understatement.]

I'm probably top ten for speed back home.

[crystalmaster]

"Only top ten?" Radley smirks. "There's others as fast as you?"

[doubled_speed]

"Faster," Tommy said, though his tone was very grudging. He didn't like it. "But some of them cheat. Flying is definitely cheating."

[crystalmaster]

"It's certainly not the same thing," Radley mused.

[doubled_speed]

Fuck yes. Tommy was glad someone agreed.

"The flying speedsters don't agree. It's such BS."

[crystalmaster]

"Heh. Yeah, that figures they're kind of showoffs."

[doubled_speed]

Tommy has to chuckle. Yeah, this is pretty good to hear.

"They can be. Not that they are bad people, but whatever."

[crystalmaster]

"I suppose it's pretty easy to get caught up in the excitement of having a cool power," Radley muses. "I hope they're responsible with their powers, at least."

[doubled_speed]

Excitement of a cool power. Tommy almost wants to sneer. It's not that simple.

"Powers are a pain."

[crystalmaster]

"Yeah, I'd think so too," Radley says. "It seems like it'd be pretty hard always keeping them in their place and not interfering with day to day life."

[doubled_speed]

Exactly! Tommy nods as he brings out the eggs.

"They can. Like, my metabolism is really intense. Not quite a shrew equivalent in a human, but pretty intense anyway."

"That sounds frustrating to handle," Radley says.

Very frustrating to handle, actually.

"Dude, imagine how much it COSTS to stay fed back home!"

[crystalmaster]

Radley smirks sympathetically. "Yeah, that would be a pain. It's annoying enough for me when potatoes or rice don't keep me full long enough. For it to be everything, yeah, I'd be mad."

"I live on noodles and stir fries," Tommy admitted with a shrug. "It's a whole thing."

He had been lucky, to have the Avengers in his life. Their files had advice on speedster diets after all.

"You must have learned many ways to prepare them," Radley said. Otherwise, it would be pretty boring.

[doubled_speed]

"I never cooked back home," he admitted, frowning. It felt like a failing now. He could have been doing things for himself.

[crystalmaster]

"At least you're making up for it here," Radley said.

[doubled_speed]

"Never was an intention. Made a promise to a friend, and so this place came to be mine."

And he didn't know what to do with it.

[crystalmaster]

"Well, regardless, I'd say it's been useful to you," Radley said. "And now you'll have me to help too."

[doubled_speed]

"Which is a fucking relief, if I'm honest."

And he needed that sort of help. He was so tired.

"I'm glad to be of service," Radley smirked. "I'll definitely feel useful here."

He finished getting the ingredients together in the lasagna.

"That's a hard thing to find on Agra 10 sometimes," Tommy said, and he was glad the guy was interested.

[crystalmaster]

"It sure is," Radley agreed. "I've felt very out of my element."

He put the lasagna in the oven.
