[Are you shocked to see Tommy? Probably not. Someone said something about cooking, of course he's going to weigh in. At least the video is a rather stationary thing, his comm clearly propped up on a counter in the diner's kitchen.]

I don't know about you, but I'm in for the idea of us getting some good food in us. Maybe we can talk too when we're there? If we're going.

Anyway, gonna say that the diner is pretty stocked up and I'm happy to be prep assistant on any cooking in the Diner. Just remember Diner Rules. Don't be a dick and all of that.

And anyone cooking has to promise to help carry their own shit to the thing.

[Says the guy currently, on screen, cutting a tuber with enough speed that his hands are a literal blur.]

"Yeah, it's usually in December," Radley muses. "I'll just plan on trying to keep the whole month open for holidays."

"Sometimes it's in late November I think. I'm still not great at the calendar. Or the language. Or so many things."

And he's lost his primary tutor but he's trying.

"It's not like it's a major enough thing that you need more than a few hours on some nights.

"Really?" Radley muses. He hadn't known that.

He smiles. "Cool. Well, I'll look forward to it."

"Awesome," TOmmy says with a smile. They won't have to be just him and Billy this year.

[crystalmaster]

"Should I bring anything?" Radley wonders.

[doubled_speed]

"Well, if you're willing to risk it, replicating more gelt would help for gaming," he says with a smile. More chocolate for him.

[crystalmaster]

Radley smirks. "I guess I can give it a go and see what happens."

[doubled_speed]

"If you get any sort of chocolate, I'll definitely let you ante it in."

Yeah chocolate. He misses it so much and he uses too much of his replicator rations to do other things after all.

[crystalmaster]

"Hopefully the machine can make chocolate," Radley muses. "I wonder if anyone's tried before."

[doubled_speed]

"I've had it replicate that before. The universe it's from had a lot of people from Earth so it's got some common stuff already programmed," Tommy said.

So you know, chocolate should happen.

[crystalmaster]

"That's encouraging." Radley blinks, fully processing what was said. "... So it's from a future where people from home have branched out other places?"

[doubled_speed]

"I don't know that they're exactly the same version of Earth as I am, for instance. No super heroes seemed to exist," Tommy pointed out. "But yeah, probably something like that."

[crystalmaster]

"I wonder if it could be the future of my version," Radley mused. "There's not really any superheroes there either ... although there are people who've had to step up and fight magical evils, if the stories I've heard are real."

[doubled_speed]

Magical evils?

"Sounds like home to me. There's been evil magic things before. My mom and uncle have both been possessed by the same one."

[crystalmaster]

Radley stares at him. "The same one?! It can't be sealed away or something?"

[doubled_speed]

"Nah. It's a god," he says with a shrug.

[crystalmaster]

"... An evil god targets people you love?! Why?!"

[doubled_speed]

"I don't know," Tommy said with a shrug. "God of chaos after something special about my family."

He expects Billy will have to deal with it some day too.

[crystalmaster]

"There's no way to find out why?"

[doubled_speed]

"My mom is this big important magic beacon or something, and my brother is... Well, he's bigger magic importance. So probably related to all of that."

No clue why Pietro got that bullshit.

[crystalmaster]

"... Ah. Yeah, I guess that makes some sense why they'd be targeted then."

[doubled_speed]

Maybe it did, but mostly he didn't think so.

"I mean, chaos god, so we could have been randomly chosen. Worst lottery ever."

[crystalmaster]

"... That's also possible. If the myths are accurate, chaos gods don't care who gets hurt as long as they have fun, right?"

[doubled_speed]

"I don't know that he wanted 'fun' so much as 'destruction'."

[crystalmaster]

"Although destruction seems to be what they consider fun," Radley smirked darkly. "They're pretty twisted."
