Hey all!

[Are you shocked to see Tommy? Probably not. Someone said something about cooking, of course he's going to weigh in. At least the video is a rather stationary thing, his comm clearly propped up on a counter in the diner's kitchen.]

I don't know about you, but I'm in for the idea of us getting some good food in us. Maybe we can talk too when we're there? If we're going.

Anyway, gonna say that the diner is pretty stocked up and I'm happy to be prep assistant on any cooking in the Diner. Just remember Diner Rules. Don't be a dick and all of that.

And anyone cooking has to promise to help carry their own shit to the thing.

[Says the guy currently, on screen, cutting a tuber with enough speed that his hands are a literal blur.]

So, uh, food time? We could use it?

Radley unwraps it and takes a bite. "This is really good! But so about that butter ..."

He imagines it will be even more amazing with some form of butter.

Of course it's good. The stuff is almost as savory as meat and Tommy practically lives on them and bacon mushrooms.

"Hold on, let me check."

Again he is gone in a blur, only to return a minute later with a damn churn.

"I think it's finished."

Radley starts, then smirks. "Perfect!" He spreads some on a tuber and tries that. "Oh yes, this will be amazing at the feast!"

“They’re pretty standard, but they’re filling,” Tommy points out with a smile. “This will be good.”

[crystalmaster]

"It sure will be," Radley says. "Thanks for all your help!"

[doubled_speed]

Tommy nods.

“Thanks ahead of time for yours. We deserve better food here, and I haven’t had as much training at this as I could have.”

[crystalmaster]

"I already have a lot of ideas," Radley grins. He looks eager to start on them.

[doubled_speed]

Awesome. Tommy grins.

"I spend a lot of this time of year making supplies stretch. Gotta handle us for the winter so we don't eat only protein gel. But I'm down for more."

[crystalmaster]

"Protein gel? Yeah, that ... sounds pretty boring." To say the least. It sounds awful, like something astronauts might have to eat.

“It’s got flavors. My dad told me once that you could turn the chocolate stuff into something close enough to ice cream that it was awesome. But he was gone before he could teach me.”

ANd Tommy was probably lacking some materials for it.

"That would be pretty cool. Maybe I could figure out how to do it."

He was certainly curious to try, at least.

“It’s probably a chemistry thing. You any good with chemistry?”

Because Tommy was decidedly not.

[crystalmaster]

"Hmm. Maybe. I haven't done it much outside of school experiments."

[doubled_speed]

“I only was in chem lab for the start of the year.”

Then the chem lab blew up. It was hard to take chemistry then.

"Oh? You were able to get out of taking it?"

[doubled_speed]

"Well, there stopped being a chem lab."

Completely accurate statements which do not allow for culpability for five hundred, Alex.

Radley quirks an eyebrow. There must be quite a story behind that.

"That's a valid reason to stop going."

[doubled_speed]

“Trust me I’m we well aware of that. Plus this whole cooking part of my powers? It’s based on molecular acceleration. You don’t want that around chemicals.”

Ever. It’s a bad combination. Ask his chem lab.

[crystalmaster]

Radley winces. "Oh yeah. That's a disaster waiting to happen."

And probably did. He suspects that is what happened to the lab, but doesn't like to ask.

Good that he doesn't ask. Asking would be bad.

"Goes bad with cooking sometimes too. I've learned not to cook fish like this."

[crystalmaster]

"Ooh yeah, I can see that going all kind of wrong," Radley winces.

[doubled_speed]

"Hard to clean up," Tommy points out with a smile.

Well, more like laughter. At his one expense.

[crystalmaster]

"Yeah, no kidding." He's picturing a grotesque explosion. Probably better to stop thinking about it.

Definitely better.

"I'm good for dealing with ruins though. And making doors."

"Cool. Yeah, those powers would come in really handy there."
