♤ Cause and Effect
WHO: Cayde-6, OTA
WHERE: The Library, the Hangar, the Clocktower
WHAT: A bored Hunter is a restless Hunter
WHEN: Now throughout the week
WARNINGS: N/A
NOTES: Will match tagging preference!
The Library (Closed to Jon and Tony)
If there's one thing a Hunter's good at, it's sneaking around. He's scoped out his destination, made sure key parties were present. It would be a wasted effort if he went through so much trouble and found himself without his intended audience, after all.
And so it is that Cayde hauls along a couch, of all things, which might be an odd sight in itself considering he's seen pulling it out from the Whale Comb Sent Her. He has it resting over his back part of the way, and by the time he gets to the library itself, he's simply dragging it by one end, rather noisily once its feet leave the weed-ridden, patchy earth and start to screech across the smoother floors. But his intention is not stealth, not now. Now? He's clearly asking for attention.
He pulls that couch right up into the most open space of the library, looks around, and then sets it right down. Then picks it up and turns it about to adjust it just so after consulting his hidden Ghost for something or another. And just like that, he walks right back out.
The Hangar (Open)
Some time later in the week one might find the Exo skulking about the hangar. Mainly he's prowling around the Starduck if not ineffectually pawing at the door hatch. His Ghost hovers nearby, watching.
If no one comes around to open the thing up for him, then he'll be wandering around the other ships, holding his tablet as he squints between the screen and each ship he passes as he looks for a certain one.
The Clocktower (Openish?)
Cayde's been seen with a giant coil of rope slung over an arm, fresh from the replicator. He's made a beeline for his tower (not the nest of buildings the bar's in), humming along. If Ikora's about the lower levels that she's claimed, then he wouldn't be surprised if she'd try to hold him up for questioning. Which is why he goes up to his own levels the usual way- jumping. Dare someone brave the Warlock's domain to head up those stupidly tall stairs to find him? -it's fine, she won't bite.
If you catch up to him at the top floor of the clocktower, you'll find him setting the rope down as he looks on out of one of the gaping holes that face the neighboring tower by the flood plains, stroking his chin thoughtfully. After a moment he turns to you, grinning as he picks up the rope and starts pulling half of it loose before tossing the rest over. "Hey, do me a solid and hold onto that. -and make sure to keep feedin' me some line!" And then without further explanation he leaps out the hole, somehow jumping again in midair just before he can hit the ground and break his ankles, rope winding out in his wake.

Clocktower
Sure it wasn't the first time just going in to see a place, but in the end he went inside anyway. As he went inside and looked up well it was a long way up but Terra wasn't afraid. So he diligently went up the stairs one at a time and made his way up to the top. There he saw Cayde who seemed to be picking up a huge rope.
And suddenly the other is asking him to hold on which he nodded to. "Where are you going?" Surely he didn't mean...but then he was gone and he held onto the rope, trying to do as he'd been asked which was to feed the rope a little bit at a time.
no subject
Looking back up at the tower he stood by, he gathered himself up then to jump, looking for foodholds, ledges and windows, the rope continuing to trail along, potentially pulling a little taut if Terra hadn't let out more line before Cayde started jumping.
no subject
But then he couldn't see Cayde as the man moved upwards, but he could feel the tension on the line, and Terra continued to carefully feed the rope. And he just hoped that the other was being careful.
no subject
"Whaddya think? We got enough rope to double back?"
no subject
So he was a little startled when the other called to him and he wasn't sure what to do with or about the rope. Holding onto it though as if it were his own lifeline seemed to be the best option.
Hearing the other's voice, Terra nodded as he checked how much was left. And he raised his own voice just a little. "We're good, come on back!"

Library
"A couch." Jon is the first to point out the obvious, coming to a halt and crossing his arms to underline a frown. Two of the younger mothcats are already inspecting the unexpected gift with both their noses and their claws. Obviously this isn't Tony's doing. Tony has been with him this entire time, so all Jon can do is cast the other man a genuinely confused look and a frown.
sorry sorry
He met Jon's eye with a raised brow of his own, then pouted back at the couch. "It didn't just appear here," he offered, which was supposed to be reassuring; the noisy entrance had made that much clear, so Jon hadn't started producing couches like tape recorders. "Maybe someone is trying to tell you something." The kind of message a couch delivered was not obvious, but they were smart guys, they could figure it out. Where did someone use a couch? Very lightly, Tony ventured, "Therapy wouldn't hurt."
no subject
"Jonathan. Tony." He gives each a nod as he steps up to the couch, casually gathers up mothkittens into his arms, and then promptly flops himself across the library's latest piece of furniture as he ponders the proper ways of languishing. Well, maybe the squirmy mothkittens spoil the mood, but whatever.
no subject
Jon's attention is drawn over to Cayde once he is close enough and very pointedly wandering over to the new piece of furniture. He blinks once as the scene before them plays out, then frowns and casts another look over to Tony.
Well. So much for therapy.
"You just brought that couch here." Jon concludes, the words directed at Cayde, who by now has his hands full with young mothcats who aren't quite in the mood to settle any time soon.
"Why?"

The Hangar
He spots Cayde looking a bit frowning at a door that is obviously not opening for him, but what gets the kids' attention is the man's Ghost. He has never seen it before, and Ikora mentioned how Cayde doesn't really keep it visible all that often. ]
Cayde, ciao! And company...hi. [ He waves at Sundance, giving it a smile. ] Are you looking for something?
no subject
Cayde continues trying to trace the edge of the hatch with his fingers as though expecting to find some give in it, even though he knows better. At least he's not dulling any blades in trying
again. He responds to the kid even without glancing back, not sounding at all surprised to find they've got company.]Hey 'berto. Yeah- maybe? See, this used to be my ship- er, well, the ship I was assigned to but it uh...looks like the Agrii have played ship shuffle.
[He sets his hands at his hips with a frown before sighing and turning about to face the boy.]
You wouldn't by any chance be assigned to 'er, would you?
no subject
No sorry, I was told mine is called the Bloodsport and this is the first time I visit the hangar. I didn't know people were changed from one ship to another. Have you tried talking to the Agrii about it? Did you leave your things inside?
[ There must be a reason why they shift people around, right? Not like aliens need coherent reasons to do things, in Alberto's opinion. But anyway, he's got something important to tell Cayde. ]
Oh, I met your dad the other day! He was a bit scary at first, and everything was on fire, but he's actually not so bad.
no subject
I didn't know either, but I guess anything goes. I can't even get a straight answer from the Agrii about my rock-eating bird so I don't know how well asking about the ships will go. But yeah- I had a lot of stuff in the ship so I just wanna...make sure no one stabs themselves with a knife if they jump on my bed.
[He puzzles out the locked ship without result, finally shaking his head before he pauses and blinks at Alberto.]
-my what now?

The Clocktower
no subject
The shadow suddenly made a strange shift, and if Kaz was watching it or even looking up to see the Exo he'd see quite clearly that Cayde seemed to, against all laws of gravity, take another leap in midair, breaking off his fall while simultaneously furthering his current path of travel so he'd be well away from potentially landing on anyone. He only landed with a slight stumble, rope trailing him with just enough slack to touch the ground as it dangled from the top of the clocktower.

The Clocktower - Another Angle
"--could've killed somebody!"
Echo knew it was pointless to yell at the sky, but there was no other explanation for not one, but two crates dropping on him in the middle of a patrol. It was too close for comfort; had he not dodged, each crate would have landed on his head. And this was exactly why he kept wearing his armor.
"First a sinkhole, now this," he muttered under his breath as he pressed a hand against his shoulder, letting his gaze fall onto the contents that spilled out of each one. "I think I'm calling it in for the day."
NOW:
He's in the middle of sorting through the packs of spicy ramen when he feels like something's off.
Not immediately, but it eventually comes to a head. The noises that throw off the ambiance outside of the tower are punctuated and almost rhythmic the second he listens for it, sending him toward the nearest window (or lack thereof) to catch a glimpse of the Exo, with purpose and rope, flying upward past his line of sight.
There are questions. But first, there's a dash up the tall stairs to reach the next floor with the packs still in hand and a pause that speaks volumes before the approach. "All right -- what's going on here?"
no subject
"Is that ramen?"
no subject
Although Echo knew as much, he also looked down at his hands. "Spicy Ramen."

Hangar
"Guess no one is home."
no subject
"They kick you off this boat too?"
no subject
He looked up at his old ship. Not that it would do much good.
no subject
Cayde sighed, giving one last pound on the hatch before he turned away from the ship. "Well, let's see what ship we're on," he said as he pulled out his tablet.
