♤ Cause and Effect
WHO: Cayde-6, OTA
WHERE: The Library, the Hangar, the Clocktower
WHAT: A bored Hunter is a restless Hunter
WHEN: Now throughout the week
WARNINGS: N/A
NOTES: Will match tagging preference!
The Library (Closed to Jon and Tony)
If there's one thing a Hunter's good at, it's sneaking around. He's scoped out his destination, made sure key parties were present. It would be a wasted effort if he went through so much trouble and found himself without his intended audience, after all.
And so it is that Cayde hauls along a couch, of all things, which might be an odd sight in itself considering he's seen pulling it out from the Whale Comb Sent Her. He has it resting over his back part of the way, and by the time he gets to the library itself, he's simply dragging it by one end, rather noisily once its feet leave the weed-ridden, patchy earth and start to screech across the smoother floors. But his intention is not stealth, not now. Now? He's clearly asking for attention.
He pulls that couch right up into the most open space of the library, looks around, and then sets it right down. Then picks it up and turns it about to adjust it just so after consulting his hidden Ghost for something or another. And just like that, he walks right back out.
The Hangar (Open)
Some time later in the week one might find the Exo skulking about the hangar. Mainly he's prowling around the Starduck if not ineffectually pawing at the door hatch. His Ghost hovers nearby, watching.
If no one comes around to open the thing up for him, then he'll be wandering around the other ships, holding his tablet as he squints between the screen and each ship he passes as he looks for a certain one.
The Clocktower (Openish?)
Cayde's been seen with a giant coil of rope slung over an arm, fresh from the replicator. He's made a beeline for his tower (not the nest of buildings the bar's in), humming along. If Ikora's about the lower levels that she's claimed, then he wouldn't be surprised if she'd try to hold him up for questioning. Which is why he goes up to his own levels the usual way- jumping. Dare someone brave the Warlock's domain to head up those stupidly tall stairs to find him? -it's fine, she won't bite.
If you catch up to him at the top floor of the clocktower, you'll find him setting the rope down as he looks on out of one of the gaping holes that face the neighboring tower by the flood plains, stroking his chin thoughtfully. After a moment he turns to you, grinning as he picks up the rope and starts pulling half of it loose before tossing the rest over. "Hey, do me a solid and hold onto that. -and make sure to keep feedin' me some line!" And then without further explanation he leaps out the hole, somehow jumping again in midair just before he can hit the ground and break his ankles, rope winding out in his wake.

The grin was as good an indicator as any, and Cayde turned to dash over towards the closest ship then, expecting Shiro to be right behind him. "Mmnope, not this one."
no subject
Shiro was definitely right behind when he did though he was a bit slow on the first one as he wasn't immediately expecting him to run for a ship. "Me neither. Let's go for the next one."
no subject
There wasn't much point in hanging about a ship that wouldn't open up, so Cayde nodded and started on towards the next. "Wish they parked these things in alphabetical order or something," he muttered.
no subject
Shiro followed Cayde over to the next ship. "Maybe I can bring it up at the next staff meeting." He said it with a smirk, a little bit of a joke.
no subject
He grinned at Shiro's comment. "I'll hold you to it. See about gettin' some cupholders installed too, while you're at it."
As they came up to the next ship he brought his hands up expectantly as though to trigger the door to open, not that it did. Maybe they were just out of range. He never did figure out how ships knew when to open for a person.
no subject
He chuckled at that. "I'll right that down when I get back to my room, so I don't forget about the cup holders."
Shiro walked up to the door as well, but the ship didn't respond. Which... made sense when it wasn't their ship, but... "How can these ships tell who is who just by walking up to it?"
no subject
Cayde frowned as the door remained shut, lifting his shoulders in a shrug. "Sensors, maybe? I'd suggest a DNA scan but..." He gestured at himself. DNA would definitely be a problem with Exos. "On to the next one?"
no subject
Shipshape... because they are ships.
"Perhaps. I wonder what they are looking at that would allow it to tell. I mean, not sure if it would open up for me if I pretended to be someone else. Yeah, let's check the next one."
no subject
He was a little less eager to hurry over to the next ship. The novelty of rushing between each one had quickly worn off. He'd be a little annoyed if it turned out that the Bishop would be the last ship they tried.
no subject
He can see that Cayde is getting less excited about checking all of the ships. Where he'd been running the first time, now he seemed more subdued about it. "Hey, shall we just go check out the Bishop? Try the other ships later?"
no subject
There didn't seem much point for the latter if they wouldn't get past the door, but Cayde nodded anyway, just to prove he wasn't a quitter. "Yeah, let's do that," he said, gesturing for Shiro to lead the way. Maybe he had a better idea of where it was parked.
no subject
It was nice to know pretty everything immediately... but that was still weird.
"Sounds good." He would head in the direction of the Bishop, already knowing the general area where it was parked.

no subject
Joyriding in spaceships? Sure why not.
no subject
"That our ship?" he asked, pointing ahead once it was more clear as to which one they were heading for.
no subject
"Yeah, that's it," he said as they headed over. "That one we will be guaranteed to get in."
no subject
"Finally!" Cayde didn't take any further encouragement to bounce over to the entry hatch, pleased to see as it opened up. He grinned over at Shiro before bounding inside.
no subject
Shiro grinned before following Cayde inside. "I think this is one of the older ships, but still seems like it is in good shape."
no subject
"Aw, this ship isn't as fun inside as the Starduck was," the Exo huffed as he looked around. It was still a little better than one of the other ones he'd visited, although the name escaped him. "If you see any knives lying around, those're mine," he said as he ducked down the hall, making a beeline for the bunk room.
no subject
Yes, he really was suggesting hanging Christmas tree lights in the spaceship. Made about as much sense as anything here.
"I'll be sure to keep any eye out, especially since I don't want to step on any of them." He said this as he followed after him.
no subject
In the bunk room, he'd be found shoving up the mattress on the captain's bed, looking at the underside of it before dropping it back down and then poking around the other beds. Well, that was probably as good a hint as any as to where he usually hid his stuff on the other ship.
no subject
Shiro watched him, standing in the door way. "Looking for something that was hidden on the other ship?"
no subject
He stood back from his bed searching, tapping his foot. "Yeah. I used to stash all the weapons I got from the few places we were able to visit off-world. Don't know if everything got moved or if they're still aboard the Starduck," he said, stepping over to the small storage lockers to start opening them up.
no subject
He had heard about it so he was aware it was not necessarily what you asked for that you got.
"If they were trying to make things convenient, they'd be here now. If they weren't, they'd still be on the Starduck." He moved start checking the lockers as well. "How many of them do you have?"
no subject
Cayde opened up another locker, the garbled sound he made wavering between joy and shock. "Well, they moved something!" he said as he pulled out a sock stuffed with a couple of knives. "Not sure I'd call this convenient though..." He tucked the knives into his belt and looked sadly at the overstretched sock. "How many? Uh...at least....five, maybe? And a few guns... maybe a thermal detonator or two..." he murmured as he started looking elsewhere.
