A New Friend and Other Stories of a Paladin
WHO: Shiro and You
WHERE: Around Temba
WHAT: Shiro spending some time around Temba, including Glownie
WHEN: The month of June
WARNINGS: None yet
Greenhouse
In order to help out, Shiro had started going to the greenhouse to assist where he could. He wasn't the most knowledgeable with plants, data point or not, but he could handle jobs like watering and weeding. All tasks that needed to get done in order to make sure that the plants they did have thrived so they would grow.
Also harvesting mint as he had been spending time with the Glownies, but that was not today.
Today he had set himself to weeding, humming a little bit under his breath as he did.
Starduck
The kitchen seemed to a safe enough place on the ship to just hang out. Shiro had headed in there, settling himself at a table, sipping at his cup of tea. He was lost in thought, staring at the wall for a moment as though it might do something interesting at any moment.
Of course... it wasn't.
Glownies!
Shiro had been spending time with the Glownies ever since Tommy had introduced him to them. They were rather cute and something about them was very calming to him. Spending time with them was a productive way to look after an animal and take care of them and relax at the same time. Sometimes, he'd talk to them about things and they'd listen but not necessarily really understand and couldn't repeat. Things that were just good to get off his chest... like the fact that he still was trying to process what had happened to Adam.
But it meant that no one else heard it... maybe.
One of the days though, when he was returning back, he found he had a tagalong. One of the Glownies had snuck out and decided to follow him. It was rather happily trotting along after him, tail flipping.
"What are you doing?" Shiro asked it with a smile. "Are you trying to come home with me?"
[ooc: if your character would be around the Glownie pasture, feel free to have them overhear Shiro talking to the Glownies]

"Pickles are a lovely food for staying healthy. I have to wonder if one can pickle a thing so soft as that. I might wish to try."
no subject
“Hmm… you could try. They might absorb too much liquid with standard pickling… or you could use them in a salad since they already have that pickled taste.”

In fact, she wants to go acquire some now, though she knows it won't be likely. Instead she wanted to stick with him right now.

Perhaps after they return the wayward Glownie back to its home, they could go and get some of the bananas. The small glowing pony was certainly happy at the moment, walking between two people, away from the pasture.

Lark smiled as she caught sight of the place they were approaching. Almost time to put the little creature back.
"Perhaps you should enjoy walks with the little ones more often.
no subject
Man, so many ideas here!
"I think I should too. It seems rather happy to be out. Maybe just needs some alone time every once in a while."
no subject
"A herd animal enjoying alone time? Or perhaps is it that they do not appreciate being so cooped up as a whole?"
no subject
He chuckled a bit looking at the Glownie. "Perhaps. But yeah you are probably right. More likely that it wants to explore rather than look at the same thing all the time."
no subject
Not that Lark thought it was nearly as good as the kitchens at the temple. Though the cook there was a cook mage, and thus his food was just inherently created with that extra bit of something.
Explore rather than look. Yes, that sounds good.
"You need shepherds."
no subject
Yes, this was a thing he was used to.
"Might good. Let them explore or be able to bring them back if they get loose."
no subject
They played, even if people didn't fully realize it.

Still, she was glad to say that he seemed to be intent on learning, and that isn't something all young people feel.
"Each moment learning is a good moment in life."
no subject
He smiled and nodded. "Yeah, that is the only thing we can do. At least I have the chance to."

"Maybe, if you will pardon a joke, it's the black sheep of hte flock?"
no subject
He laughed at that. "Yes, I suppose it is."
The Glownie, of course, didn't seem to mind. Even as they were beginning to approach the pasture, it didn't seem too concerned.
no subject
Unless Glownie have terrible sense of smell.
