Party at the Blue Bantha!
WHO: Everyone!
WHERE: The Blue Bantha in Coruscant's entertainment district
WHAT: A party!
WHEN: The last day before they leave.
WARNINGS: Fun times? Probably drunkenness.
After having found this place on an outing with Echo, Obi-Wan had decided he rather liked this one particular establishment they stopped at. So for their last evening on Coruscant, the Jedi had the place rented out. A network post also going up inviting everyone for one last hurrah before they have to go back to Temba.
Welcome to the Blue Bantha Bar and Grill!
Everything is very blue. A bright blue neon sign advertises the joint in the entertainment district. Its letters in Aurebesh with a little bantha head shaped neon light next to it as well. The lighting inside is distinctly blue as well. There is a mounted bantha head placed on the far wall above the bar, its fur having been dyed blue. Clearly it is the mascot of this place.
There are tables and booths in varying locations for people to sit. With the tables having bantha hide rugs under them that look reminiscent of shag carpet, while the booth seats have bantha hide upholstery as well. There's a band playing in one corner with space for people to dance. While on another side there are screens broadcasting sporting events from across the galaxy. Feel free to place bets on who you think will win!
Even the staff are either blue, or are wearing blue. It won't be uncommon to have a blue scantily clad Twi'lek waitress serving you. The long bar also has blue neon lighting with several stools to sit at, in which you can order whatever drink your heart desires on their menu.
Speaking of the menu, everything is made with bantha products. That is what they specialize in. Several types of Jawa Juice, a kind of beer made from fermented grains mashed in bantha hides, can be found here. As well as Bantha Blood Fizz, a sparkling drink made from purified bantha blood in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic varieties. And of course they serve several drinks featuring blue milk, from just the plain stuff to several alcoholic concoctions. There is also food of course! Bantha steak, bantha burgers, bantha stew, and other meat dishes are served as it's pretty much this galaxy's equivalent of beef. You can even get desserts made from blue milk such as cheesecake and ice cream.
Have fun! The Temba group have this establishment all to themselves for the night!

Sadly, she had no network of spies to steal information for her.
She chuckled. "I Blinked, actually, and it exhausted me. I felt the weight of planets pressing on me. Using the Light is hard here. I wasn't expecting it to be so hard though."
no subject
As Ikora touched upon her fight, Cayde's mouth opened and then closed as he began to nod in understanding. "We're not even in the same galaxy, maybe not the same time. Kind of a surprise we're connected at all." He knew that being cut off had hit a lot of Guardians hard and Ikora was one of them. But then Warlocks were in tune with their powers in a different way than Hunters or Warlocks. They made it their business to study that power- hell, they weren't called Warlocks for nothing.
Being cut off had been a great inconvenience after you'd had centuries to get used to having the Light, to being able to get up and do stupid things with the confidence that you'd have a second or third shot so long as your Ghost was there, setting things on molten fire or what have you. But Cayde had been an Exo and something of a Hunter long before the Light had called him to be a Guardian. It was why he hadn't hesitated to act even once the Light vanished. But that didn't mean the feeling, the vulnerability was something that sat well with him.
no subject
"It might be because we have our ghosts and they are of the Traveler." Ikora looked over at hers, hovering near by. "They carry the Light with them. But... it's also possible the Traveler is out there even far away so that we are connected. I've been trying to study maps to pinpoint where we are."
But so far, she hadn't found any recognizable planets or star systems. They weren't in a part of the universe the Darkness had claimed either. They just were... somewhere in the vastness of space. "Interesting, I think, that no one has mentioned anything of the Hive or Fallen or Cabal. Not even races similar to them."
no subject
"Way I was thinkin', maybe it's kind of like...well you know when you got a bunch of mirrors set up a particular way? So the one catches the light source and it bounces off, refracting on and on to some final point before a thing catches fire? Exceptin' that there's like...filters and I dunno, dirty mirrors and glass here and there between 'em that kinda muddies up the light some along the way. Except our filters and mirrors are time and warpholes."
He tossed his hands as he wondered that it actually could work out that way- this was why he left all the theorizing to Warlocks- and then yelped when blue liquid sloshed over the edge of his cup. Glancing down beside the crate at the small puddle on the floor, he exchanged a look with Sundance along with a sheepish grin. "...no one saw that."
Tossing what was left down his glowing gullet, he set the cup down beside the bottle, resting an elbow over a knee as he propped his leg up. "No one's heard of 'em even outside of here. We're in some different space altogether. -hey, you know, there's even different Earths? There's a handful of people from Earth, some of them even know each other but at the same time...not? They're like different versions of people? I don't know- gets all confusing. But not many of 'em have space access. It's like they're from pre-Golden Age."
no subject
It's a crude metaphor but it might actually be correct. The Light is paracausal. There's nothing that says it couldn't travel between dimensions and realities. It reached Guardians in Hive throne worlds, after all. "Yes, I think you have a good idea there. As long as the Traveler itself isn't blocked, the Light will reach us however it can."
She sipped her drink again and let Cayde have his moment to recover. What he said next was interesting though. Pre-Golden Age Earth. It was so ancient in their time it was almost forgotten history. Little hidden bits of it popped up here and there. "There is a wildly accepted multi-verse theory among the Warlocks. Reality is... suggestible. Mutable. Why not have many different realities with many different changes large and small? Maybe... this itself is a different reality now, spun off from our reality to where we live this and... our universe continues on without us."
no subject
"...soooo you're saying reality is relative? Because that makes it sound like it's all from the perspective of whoever's being dragged to whatever other place like we're imposing ourselves on someone else's reality because it's becoming our reality- ...I don't think I'm drunk enough for this."
Like he could even get drunk.
no subject
She set her drink down because now he'd done it. She was going to Lecture.
"The theory of a multiverse states most simply that every time you make a choice, your reality continues with the choice you made while simultaneously spawning a second reality where you made the other choice." She spread her hands out and gestured to the hangar and the city beyond. "Think of how many choices this planet makes in a single day. Think of how many realities have spawned because of that. Think of the realities we spawned at home. The multiverse is endless in that sense."
no subject
"-with that many realities it's a wonder nothing's already imploded," Cayde said. At least he was listening? "So you're saying that there's a possibility that there's maybe billions of me out there then, living out whatever other choices I didn't make." Now that was a thought.
no subject
"See? You're already thinking about the mysteries of the universe," she teased gently. "I'll make a Warlock out of you yet."
She had taught a few Hunters some Warlock secrets. Eris being one.
"With how long we've lived? Billions is probably right."
no subject
"Billions of me. That's an unstoppable army right there." He couldn't help but entertain the thought, a goofy grin touching his metal features. "I don't know if I'd drive myself crazy with that many of me." Definitely drive everyone else crazy. "Everyone should be thankful there's only room for one of me anywhere."
no subject
"The most unorganized army ever conscripted. No one would want to be in charge or listen to orders." She raised an eyebrow, daring Cayde to argue that point. Hunters might follow other Hunters but even then they tended to treat orders more like suggestions than orders.
She didn't think this was some other version of Cayde. Their history was the same as far as Ikora could tell. It was Cayde before his death. The friend she had lost. "I'm certainly glad I don't have to herd a billion of you. I would need a billion of myself to manage it."
no subject
"Hey..." he started, optics narrowing before he simply started to laugh. "Aw hell, who'm I kidding," he grinned, taking another drink. His shoulders still shook with laughter as he couldn't quite put the image out of his mind. That many of him would be absolutely chaotic. It only made him laugh more at the thought of Ikora trying to keep all of him in line. Zavala might just go insane.
"-if at least half of that billion managed not to realize what an advantage they'd have in going out all across the Sol System and beyond to study and discover the secrets of the universe," Cayde countered, making mysterious gestures with the fingers of his free hand.
no subject
"There must be a few of me out there that never settled. Perhaps one that's still Crucible Champion. The possibilities are endless." All the choices of a life as long as theirs there's no telling the combinations that exist.
"Are you ready to go back?" she asked, curious if he liked this place or not. Ikora hadn't been here long enough to form any real opinion.
no subject
"Mm? Oh." He took a moment to think on that question, draining the rest of the blue liquid from his cup and eyeing it as though to consider whether he really wanted another cup or not. It was tasty, but it wasn't great.
"Yes and no," he finally said. "I'll miss the atmosphere. You haven't been on Agra Ten yet. It's like being out in the EDZ, just without Fallen crawling around to shoot at." The Exo set his cup down, deciding against a refill. "-but I definitely will not miss all the side-eyes I get around here. It's like, you have a metal face and suddenly nothing is allowed! Can't go into most bars, can't buy a meal or a drink! Definitely won't let you sit at a gambling table." A pause. "They however are still willing to hire you to shoot people."
no subject
Ikora had seen other robotic humanoids. They clearly weren't Exos, nowhere near as sophisticated and well made as Cayde. They weren't treated like it either. She had wondered about them.
"That sounds like a very quiet EDZ." But she could almost picture it, ruins and overgrowth. "Well, at least you got to do one of the things you enjoy. Their technology hasn't reached the level of Exos and here I thought they were equal to a Golden Age society. They still have much to learn then."
no subject
"Unbelievably quiet. I bet if I yelled at one end of the city someone'd hear it on the other end." Watch him try it one day.
He had to smile a little- oh how he did like a good fight. Clearing out some criminal lowlifes was at least one highlight. The undercity was a big place though, and for all that those Justicars were doing to try making things better for those who had to live down there, Cayde wasn't sure how much ground was lost for every bit gained.
"Yeah, their droids here are more for service and menial tasks. Heh, sometimes their owners would shoo me away thinkin' I'd be a bad influence. Me! Can you believe it?"
no subject
There was never a good way to clean out a city. Even in their home there was crime and people taking advantage of the less fortunate. Guardians did what they could but it was hard to balance home security with larger system wide concerns.
"Cayde, you are a bad influence," she pointed out. "But I don't know how much free will these droids have. Even your charming personality might not change their inherent programming."
no subject
He looked terribly proud of himself when she only confirmed he was a bad influence. Yeah, who was he kidding? It wasn't hard to note that expression on his face as she continued. She was practically issuing a challenge.
"I guess we'll just have to see. Or not see, given we're bound to just be swept back to our ships sooner or later."
no subject
There were no rumors of her turning people into frogs and making them disappear when they got higher kill streaks in the Crucible. Ikora was an unknown which meant she could be anything.
"I had Ophiuchus download as much data as he could when we explored the Jedi temple. And I bought data pads. I'll have plenty to read when we do go back." She gestures to the one sitting next to her.
no subject
It was a mood that naturally didn't last as he sat up again with a stretch. He was still debating on doing some final run about the more localized area of the city while he had the chance. "You haven't even seen the place for yourself and you're all set to read," he said, smirking as he shook his head at the Warlock then.
no subject
Ikora smiled to herself, glad to see them interacting again.
"I saw enough to know it's a city. Prosperous and poor in places. A large criminal element that is policed to the best of the city's ability," Ikora said simply. "I can learn more of the galaxy reading since I cannot leave the planet. And books I can take with me."
no subject
"Does that mean you won't even go shop for a gun? I see you've got your Ghost. When I came in, all I had was my Ace of Spades," he said, patting the holstered hand cannon at his hip. "Was lucky Sundance got pulled in a lot later- not sure why but hey, who was I to complain?"
no subject
"I'm sure why they chose to send me with him instead of a weapon like they did you." She turned her head and studied her ghost. "Maybe because my favorite weapon is too powerful? But you're right, I should get at least one weapon before we vanish again."
They must make a good shotgun here.
no subject
"Maybe," he said, not an intentional echo of Ophiuchus. "I had my gun and no bullets. Except the first place they plunked me in was a nice cushy bed on some resort planet where they had machines that spit out whatever you could ask for so I wasn't about to not take advantage of that!"
He rubbed his hands together eagerly before vaulting off of the crate. "We going now? Or you still reading? If you read all your stuff now then you'll get bored a lot faster once we get back."
no subject
She still made a bit of a show putting her datapads away before gracefully getting to her feet. "I hope you've found a gunsmith as good as Banshee."
Her reading could wait. She did want weapons before they left. Nothing as fancy as the Jedi lightsabers she had seen. A trusty shotgun and a handcanon would do.
