Night at the Museum (OTA)
WHO: Kyle Broflovski and YOU!
WHERE: The Underground of Coruscant (Level 4)
WHAT: A very wholesome field trip to the lost Galactic Museum.
WHEN: During the event. (Mid-ish?)
WARNINGS: The foulest of language. Injury extremely likely. More as needed.
Kyle's seen aliens before.
A group of them from the Jannex Galaxy, a spaceship full of greys, the Marklar, and Jeff Bezos. This is the first time he's seen quite so many different kinds in one place, but even so it doesn't take him long to feel comfortable enough to talk to a few of them at the Senate Tour that Obi-Wan had suggested he take. One of these friendly aliens had mentioned in passing that it was a pity that the Galactic Museum could no longer be toured, due to it having been lost and forgotten somewhere down on Level 4.
A lost museum seems to Kyle like exactly the sort of thing the Agrii would want them to find. And even if not, well. Kyle really likes museums.
Is it difficult to get to Level 4? Oh, yes. And extremely dangerous. This doesn't deter Kyle one bit, and so he puts out a call on the Network to let people know that hey, he's putting together a museum field trip and anybody is welcome to come! Provided, that is, that you don't mind finding your way down through huge portals/ventilation shafts into a world where sunlight is less than a memory and dangerous people and creatures lurk around every corner.
But hey, if you decide to come down, you'll find a too-tall ginger waiting for you with some flashlights and a notepad.
You bet your ass he's going to force you to use the Buddy System.

[OOC: Feel free to skip straight to the Museum proper of course! Mingle away, create your own TLs, whatever!]

He's still supremely disappointed that their genius plan didn't work, but Rapahel makes a very good point - the museum is huge. "Come on, then."
The darkness somehow seems even blacker after they work their way through some more exhibits, even though that doesn't make any sense. It's when they're looking in cases that seem to be entirely about funerary rites across the galaxy that something occurs to Kyle.
"...do, uh. Do we know how to get back?"
no subject
Being mostly used to dark and dank places, Raphael doesn't think too much about it, between Kyle's having a light and their wandering around an abandoned building. After looking at some of the exhibits in this particular wing he's come to the conclusion that this galaxy is very strange.
"Huh? Oh that's easy, didn't we just..." The turtle glances back in the direction they'd come from, somewhat disconcerted by the fact that it's stupidly hard to make out where the door is, making him think twice as to which direction it actually had been. He frowns, not about to admit they're possibly lost. "Well how hard could it be to retrace our steps?"
no subject
Except that's not entirely true because he's also the guy who says 'yeah let's just rush into an abandoned space museum and not put up any markers so we can find our way back.'
Shit.
"Can't be that hard," Kyle agrees. "We just need to, uhm. Go back and turn right."
He thinks it was right.
no subject
"Back and right. Or would it be left if we turned right to get here?" he asks as he looks for the door. "This is it, right?" He's not blaming Kyle for anything when he'd completely forgotten to pay more attention to the surroundings. Still, there had to be some things to use as reference points- they just need to find them.

He thinks again, then nods, looking a little less anxious. "And so long as we see the weaponry exhibit we'll be okay. It was mostly a straight shot out from there. And uh, hopefully we see no more cannibal dudes."
no subject
He steps out of the room to do some quick scouting, scowling to himself as so far one direction looks the same as the other.
no subject
"I'm sure we're fine," he says upon seeing Raphael scowling. "For serious, we totally just go left." He strolls confidently left, walking and looking for anything familiar. His pace gradually slows.
"Uh. Okay. I don't remember there being an exhibit on rocks. Those sure look like rocks."
no subject
Raphael comes up behind him, glaring in the direction of the supposed rock exhibit because that's obviously where the fault lies. "Wait, what??" Yeah, he definitely doesn't remember any rocks. He would have commented if they'd come across boring rocks!
"-you sure they're rocks?"
no subject
He massages his temples briefly. "We're fine. We're totally fine."
no subject
He turns around after Kyle. "Were there more than one door to that last exhibit we were in? Maybe we just went out the wrong way. Anyway, something to keep in mind if nothing down this side looks familiar."
no subject
Kyle sighs. "We have our communicators. Worse comes to worst, we can call Tommy. He'll be able to search for us fast.
"But that's our last resort because I'll never hear the end of it." He scowls. "I wanna punch him out half the time, and the other half I think he's cool. You like that guy?"
no subject
"Hah! I know exactly what you mean. He's all right when he's not trying to shoulder everything himself. ...I think the last time I really talked to him I ended up yelling at him for being stupid." And then there were giant bugs and no real time to apologize when you were feeling more inclined to bash people's heads in.
"-but yeah. Absolutely last resort. I'm so not going to put up with any suggestion that we got ourselves lost otherwise."
no subject
"Yeah, we're not even lost, we're just a little turned around." Kyle pauses as he hears something up ahead of them clank softly.
"...dude, did you hear that?"
no subject
Raphael doesn't answer Kyle immediately at the sound, but his reaction speaks it plainly enough as he suddenly tenses, eyes narrowing as he turns his attention ahead. "...yeah," he says, dropping his voice to a whisper. "Stay close and keep your eyes and ears open."
no subject
For a wonder, Kyle nods. He creeps a little closer, feeling a lot like he's stepped into a horror movie.
The sound comes again, and Kyle swings his flashlight toward the noise. Against the base of the wall is a hard-plated rodent - it looks like a rat bred with an armadillo.
Kyle exhales deeply. "Holy shit. I thought it was another cannibal hillbilly."
no subject
"You're getting me all worked up for nothing!" he huffs, but Kyle's description for his earlier attacker seems both fitting and awful enough that he has to laugh. "Dude, let's just find our way out of here."
no subject
"Yeah. Man. Sorry this was such a bust."
no subject
"Eh, it wasn't so bad. I mean, we saw some cool stuff."

He follows Raphael. "Well. Even if it was kinda weak, it was cool to check it out with you. You're kinda badass, dude."
no subject
"Just think about it though- this place would have been pretty awesome as a hideout or something. If there was something like this back home I'm sure we would've moved right in. But I guess the sewers aren't so bad."

Now and then Raphael moves ahead, peeking down an upcoming corner just to make sure it's clear. "Anyway, home is home. Technically it's not all sewer. It's part of an old waterworks hub, and there's an abandoned subway stop. Anyway, where are you gonna get pizza and video games out in the country?"
