In case anyone was wondering what that strange light looks like I got me a pair of binocs.

[ Cobb waved a truly ridiculous pair of binoculars that are violently green and purple and look like some sort of rabbit/dog/animal. ]

And took a closer look. It's kinda like looking at the binary suns back home. A lot of bright and not a lot else around it. You can't see anything else but the bright.

[ Which explained why Cobb face was not centered in camera and he was still rubbing at his eyes. He had a few minutes at least before the bright spot burned into his eyes fades away. ]

So, sorry this didn't help much but if anyone needs to borrow some binocs I've got a pair handy.

[The ARC Trooper is quickly reminded that he's still very behind when it comes to timelines. He's seen different reactions to the armor: wariness, hesitation, nothing more extreme than that.

This, however, is open contempt. And to be mistaken for a stormtrooper stings.]

[ Cobb's just extremely skeptical of that. ]

Then what are ya? Because that armor is definitely Empire.

[Echo keeps his tone even, but his brow stays furrowed.]

I am an ARC Trooper. And this armor is standard issue for the Grand Army of the Republic.

[ Mando had warned him about this. This was one of those folks from a different time in their history. The logical part of Cobb said to relax, but the emotional part said this man had helped build what would become the Empire.

He runs a hand through his hair which actually dislodges some stubborn glitter ruining the serious moment. He swallows his pride.]

Well, fine, you ain't an Imp. My mistake.

[There's a curt nod. After hearing similar explanations, he unfortunately knows all about what's supposed to happen in the timeline.

To save Cobb some trouble, he doesn't say anything about the glitter. He's dealing with the same problem.]

Mistakes happen. Being here just makes things a little more complicated.

Like they ain't already.

[ He lets out a heavy sigh this time. ]

Well, my look didn't reveal much but like I said if you ever need a pair of binocs I've got 'em and they've got decent range.

[on_repeat]

It's better than nothing. I have a range finder on my helmet, but having the binocs on hand'll be good in a pinch.

I'm guessin' you can't get a range on that light when you look at it?

[ Look at him, being all polite. Cobb's proud of himself. ]

[This at least brings some of the tension back down. Echo makes a slight face as he shakes his head.]

None at all. I tried a few different spots but nothing changed.

[heypartner]

I'm tellin' you they don't want us looking at it or seeing it right now. They wanna keep it from us.

[ The why is troubling but Cobb's trying to focus on the practical and what he can deal with now. ]

That's a weird way of putting it. But what would even be hidden?

[Because now that there's the comparison, it's hard not to think of it like that.]

Last I checked, there were a few others who tried to look into it too. Similar results?

Another tower? Some sort of ship? Who the hell knows with these folks.

[ He shrugs because these sort of things don't happen in Mos Pelgo. ]

Yeah, that's why I think they don't want us knowing anything. They won't let us get close and won't let us look at it.

There's a lot we don't know in general. They probably don't know too much about anything either, which is why we're supposed to be helping them. I don't think they'd be doing this on purpose.

[heypartner]

[ Damn it, the Not Stormtrooper has a point. Cobb grits his teeth against the instant denial on his tongue. If he can negotiate with Tuskens he can do this. ]

You're sayin' they might be keepin' us from that light out of... misunderstanding? Ignorance?

[So far, so good. Echo summons enough patience to contribute and get through this conversation.]

Maybe. This certainly wasn't what I wanted when I asked for binocs.

[ Even if he's fond of it Cobb would've really liked to have the ones he knows and work really well. ]

Well, we know two things for sure. It's out there and they don't want us seein' it. Everything else is guessin'.

Yeah. Looks like that's how it's going to be until we can actually figure it out.

Will you keep all of us updated if anything changes?

If I see anything. Pretty sure with that light we'll all see it at the same time.
