Calibrations Waiting Room Mingle
WHO: ALL HE ROWS
WHERE: The Secret Tunnel, which has become the Calibrations Waiting Room (or was it always...?)
WHAT: Mingle log for literally anything you'd like to take place in the waiting room between sleep cycles during the event
WHEN: June 3 - July 10
WARNINGS: Please mark individual threads with warnings
For those that have heeded Ga Re's warning, the door within the secret tunnel - which looks suspiciously like the hatch to one of your shuttles - is wide open, waiting for you. You walk through... and the door behind you disappears. You’re now standing in a cavernous, cold, white waiting room. There are hallways leading off the main corridor with names above each. One of them has your name and will draw you toward it, inevitably.
And on the wall, in pink, running letters is written this single greeting:
‘Welcome to Calibrations’.
The secret tunnel has become a large waiting room with chairs, tables, and the same food dispensers available in the shuttles. There are also communal bathrooms - one for each gender - with several toilet stalls and shower stalls in each, including basic shampoo and soap dispensers, like you might find in a hotel. The water isn’t hot, so hopefully you don’t mind lukewarm showers. Somehow, at least, it never goes cold.
Branching off the main waiting room room are the labeled hallways. At the end of each short hallway is a door, with the same character’s name written on them. Anyone can enter any room, regardless of the name written on it. Everyone has their own room, though of course people can share. Each room has a simple bed (approximately queen-sized) and a set of drawers.
You can opt to spend time in your room or in the larger, common waiting room. (And if you do, you can thread it out here!) But every 16 hours, you'll feel a compulsion: You need to sleep. Right now. You find yourself going into your room (or someone else's, if you really want). But you’re drawn to the bed. You can’t help but lie down. And then, you fall asleep.

Tommy Shepherd
There isn’t a lot to be done in a place like this, and it’s driving Tommy up a WALL. Well, not literally, not yet. But there is one thing. Thirty-six hours had been more than enough for him to bring something for himself to do. Which, in one case, was this. A large box he had filled with rich soil from the ground outside of the main city. Into it he’s working the remains of some fish he’d picked up from the sea but mostly only had a few pieces of left. Doesn’t even explain why he’s doing it, just just running his fingers through and through and through the dark soil.
Twitching OTA
Waiting is the hardest part. People think speedsters aren’t patient because of how much they move and just keep going. Or at least people think that of Tommy. Maybe it comes from the fact that he’s got to occupy himself somehow. Which in this case is with a bouncing leg because he can’t RUN around enough. And maybe there’s a bit of issue in how he also has found a loose pebble, brought it in really, and it flicking it into the air, letting it fall, and catching it at rapid speeds. Hard for the eye to follow. But it’s going anyway. Because at least it’s something to do.
Avoiding
Open to anyone listed or CR he hasn’t talked to in a whileThe problem with enclosed areas and getting bottled up like this? The people you’ve been avoiding for a while are literally RIGHT THERE. And there’s not a lot of places you can go to get away from them. From Billy and Teddy, from Tony and Jon, from the people he hurt when his own rage had overwhelmed him. Not to mention Hux and a few other people.
Geez, he’s alienated himself but good. But there isn’t much of anywhere to run, and all he can do is freeze when he sees people he’s been avoiding, going stiff as a board. Great. Confrontation, just when he didn’t want it.
Avoiding
Which makes this all the more awkward now, enclosed in this space and catching Tommy's eye. He freezes up for a moment too, looking uncertain and guilty before attempting an approach.
"...Can we talk?"

Not-so-Avoiding
One can only give someone their space for so long, but given that they'd finally managed to broach the subject, if in an unexpected way, Cal decides they may as well try this while they're awake, and most importantly, while BD-1 is here with him.
"Tommy, hey," the padawan greets. At least he shows no signs of the injuries he'd sustained, but Billy had certainly done his part. Behind Cal, BD-1 peers just a little over his shoulder, giving a soft borble in greeting of his own.

Reeve Tuesti - OTA
After the first night, he resolves that he has to do something good. Something nice. Something to make things feel a bit better. Which is why Reeve sits out in the waiting area, a sketch pad open in his lap, pencils next to him.
“Is there anything I can draw for you? Something to liven up the walls? I can do faces, but I’m not sure how good I can do at faces I’ve never seen. But I’ll try.”
Mini Makes Friends
At some point Reeve turns his attention back to his work, either schematics for a robot or diagrams of the city with colors representing water works or power lines buried under the ground, or areas with buildings that are unstable and should be carefully salvaged from. This is a man deep in work, and perhaps hard to rouse out of it. Not impossible of course, if someone calls his name, and they are welcome to. But there’s something very interesting going on instead.
Come close and the stuffed animal, previously pacing and kicking at the ground in all the characteristic behavior of the bored, will looks up at you. They will bounce and swing their hands and maybe even follow you, miming behaviors. Looks like someone wants to play.
Mini-- sort of. I do what I want.

Mini!
The exploration droid does his usual glance about, taking note of those present. With a tilt of his head, BD-1 beeps curiously as he skitters over to investigate the strange looking creature.

probably the first of a few, but this one is for arrival
He found himself trapped in the tunnel much earlier than he had intended. This was only supposed to be the first trip, and now he didn't know where he was or how to get back out. Rapidly, he counted the halls, recognizing most of the names, then dropped what he thought was just going to be round one with a pathetic slosh and rattle to the floor. Maybe one of these doors actually led back outside, he wasn't about to assume the logic here. Slowly, Tony made his way around the waiting room, knocking (why was he knocking? It seemed polite, he wouldn't just walk into Billy's room, he was a teenager once) then pushing each of the labeled rooms open.

"So this is new," he noted, "You doing okay?" Was this a social call, or a doctor call?

The young man noticed the labels on the doors and quickly went into his own room. That would be where he stayed for a moment. He needed to do a few things away in a room without anyone noticing. Cloud knew Reeve would probably worry about it.
He's almost done right as a knock happened along with the creak sound of the door opening. Cloud pulls his left sleeve down while tugging something else inside it. He's sitting on the edge of the bed looking right at Tony.
"Is there something that you need?"

The knock makes the Archivist shift his worried glance towards the door, but his posture hardly changes even when Tony steps in. He mainly just stops biting his nail.

Cayde hadn't turned to see who else had entered the room, but his opinion would still hold as he stared at the bleak and mostly empty room.
He had his back to the door, his arms akimbo. On the bed a small rucksack had already been tossed, a sheaf of paper spilling out from its loosely drawn mouth.
"I'm thinkin' we've been had."

Cloud Strife
Cloud sat at one of the tables in the large waiting room. Where else was he going to go to eat? He didn't want to make a mess in his room even if that would be equally hard to do. Sometimes he wanted to avoid the bedroom in general. His eyes drift on his food of choice. It'll end up most likely being the same thing for a while. There's something else as he leans back against the chair. "I could really go for a hot shower."
It's stupid to even state something as a muttered request. It's a phase that all of his friends said at one point or another. He sits in that more relaxed pose knowing he'll be here for a while.
Hallway
He's right outside of his room sitting down on the ground with his back against the wall. Cloud has his legs together with his arms resting over his knees. His posture would suggest something might be bothering him but maybe he's ultimately tired. Sleeping had been restful and being somewhere in a quiet spot that wasn't his room was extremely hard to do. The hallway sometimes helped provided that small private corner for a brief period of time. That time would be when people weren't in their rooms and where somewhere else. There was peace that could be found or quiet when needed.
Cloud makes sure to move his feet to those that needed to pass on by without getting tripped. He needed a place to clear his head but he knows that kind of place doesn't really exist at the moment. Not even his own room could provide that.
Wildcard
[ Need something of Cloud? Come get it here. ]
Hallwaaaay
He comes up by Cloud's boots, hooting inquisitively. It's not too long before he's joined by another set of boots, these belonging to the red-haired padawan.

She's still starving most of the time, though, so she has James in his sling when she seeks out the ables and when she sees Cloud, she gives him a little wave and laughs at the idea of a hot shower.

Keith hadn't meant to overhear him, but too late now. Besides... expressing a desire for a hot shower wasn't exactly some deep dark secret.
"We do have access to the ships between missions... maybe, once we're out of here, I can use the one on my ship to get that in." He shrugged. "There are also the hot springs, but, if you're looking for privacy, the ships are probably a better bet."

Jonathan Sims || mid-event
He keeps trying to hold this urge to vent into his recorder at bay as long as possible, but the longer they are forced to stay in this tunnel, the harder it gets. It has been clear soon enough for everyone what happens in their dreams. That their secrets aren't safe any longer.
Needless to say, Jon hasn't felt hungry at all for a while now. On the contrary. The constant lingering of dread has become more than he has found himself capable to handle. Maybe it hits him more because he literally is the avatar of this particular type of dread, he doesn't know and he hardly finds himself able to give it much thought. Not when he's constantly torn between feeling full of energy and simply overstuffed.
Cradling the recorder in his hands, the Archivist casts a look around, checking if anyone has been paying attention to his dark muttering.

Awake, however, Sansa has James with her and she taps Jon on the shoulder. "It's difficult during these calibrations. I've done one before and it was harrowing. Are you all right? Holding up?"

Cayde-6 // Being Restless
It might be hard to see unless you caught it in the right light, but on walls and certain doors there'd be, scratched in fine lines by one of his knives, variations of 'CAYDE WAS HERE' and 'HERE TOO', etc. One might even catch him the act of defacing the table in the common room. In his own room he's started marking the inner door with a tally mark for each time he's woken up from whatever weird funk they'd been put through.
Other times, the Exo's sitting quietly, doing some writing, either in his room or in the common. He'd figure he'd try to be productive.
At some point he breaks out the deck of cards he'd replicated, shuffling them as he tries to catch people's eyes. "How about a game? Anyone? Anyone?"
no subject
Cloud didn't mind being the company of the Exo. Maybe others might end up joining in on their game of their choosing. The more the merrier kind of deal. Cayde probably would enjoy being the main dealer of the game. House normally wins out than the actual players.
He slips into a chair across from Cayde while shooting him a look of 'please save me from my boredom'. "What game are you planning on teaching?"
Since they all come from different worlds, not everyone is going to be familiar to certain games.

open; mid event
James is fussy this afternoon and she's trying to calm him. People must surely be on edge just now and she tries to hush him as quickly as possible. She doesn't want to go into her bedroom, afraid she'll fall asleep, so she tries to hide her body with her hair as she tries to nurse.
"Hush, sweetling," she says, almost desperate. "We must make do just now, all right?"
Re: open; mid event
Tommy approaches Sansa slowly, his expression soft. If nothing else, he doesn't mind helping family. He is careful to stay very still, trying not to let his energy and frustration over being trapped leak into his movements.
"I'm told I'm good with kids. I could, like, watch out for him for a bit while you take a nap here in the waiting room."

Only he caught sight of the young woman with a baby and couldn't help but smile in her direction. He was surprised to see a baby among the crowd. Still babies meant life and hope and a good sign.
He was suddenly reminded of his family back home and felt very homesick at the moment. He fidgeted with the end of his long sleeves of his robes.
