Calibrations Waiting Room Mingle

WHO: ALL HE ROWS
WHERE: The Secret Tunnel, which has become the Calibrations Waiting Room (or was it always...?)
WHAT: Mingle log for literally anything you'd like to take place in the waiting room between sleep cycles during the event
WHEN: June 3 - July 10
WARNINGS: Please mark individual threads with warnings

For those that have heeded Ga Re's warning, the door within the secret tunnel - which looks suspiciously like the hatch to one of your shuttles - is wide open, waiting for you. You walk through... and the door behind you disappears. You’re now standing in a cavernous, cold, white waiting room. There are hallways leading off the main corridor with names above each. One of them has your name and will draw you toward it, inevitably.

And on the wall, in pink, running letters is written this single greeting:

‘Welcome to Calibrations’.

The secret tunnel has become a large waiting room with chairs, tables, and the same food dispensers available in the shuttles. There are also communal bathrooms - one for each gender - with several toilet stalls and shower stalls in each, including basic shampoo and soap dispensers, like you might find in a hotel. The water isn’t hot, so hopefully you don’t mind lukewarm showers. Somehow, at least, it never goes cold.

Branching off the main waiting room room are the labeled hallways. At the end of each short hallway is a door, with the same character’s name written on them. Anyone can enter any room, regardless of the name written on it. Everyone has their own room, though of course people can share. Each room has a simple bed (approximately queen-sized) and a set of drawers.

You can opt to spend time in your room or in the larger, common waiting room. (And if you do, you can thread it out here!) But every 16 hours, you'll feel a compulsion: You need to sleep. Right now. You find yourself going into your room (or someone else's, if you really want). But you’re drawn to the bed. You can’t help but lie down. And then, you fall asleep.

Tony wasn't the first person Billy was expecting, but after a briefly hopeful look that he was turning to find him brother, he offered Tony a welcoming smile.

"So this is new," he noted, "You doing okay?" Was this a social call, or a doctor call?

His name was on the door, so Tony shouldn't have been completely surprised to see Billy, but he still looked slightly startled to have actually found someone, then gave the smallest flutter of his lashes in relief. Billy looked about the same as Tony had left him on the surface, hadn't even managed to wash that smudge off of his face yet, so he was pretty sure not everything in this place was some kind of manipulative trickery. Just the door, so far. He gave a prim nod to the question, stop asking that, then stepped in to the room to jerk open the top drawer curiously, and pout in disappointment into it. Maybe the other rooms were different. "You know your brother is a little prick?" he said.

"Oh, the brother that saved your life?" Billy asked, arching a brow pointedly. "Are you looking for something in particular?" he prompted, watching Tony peer into his drawer, "You should still be resting, you know that, right? Bunker doesn't mean you're free to run around now."

"Yeah, that one," Tony accepted shamelessly, not about to be guilted into being less irritated with Tommy's answer. He snapped the drawer closed, waving away his disappointment with it as he dropped down onto the end of the bed, stretching his legs as much as he could across the room. "Bible, you know, like a hotel. Lube, maybe," he explained, two very different hotels and this place not even anywhere in between them. At least there were beds, though. He wasn't about to acknowledge Billy's fussing, and continued as though he hadn't been interrupted, "Refused to check on you and Ted, said you were magic and could take care of yourself. Listen, I know that. I know the three of you can wipe your own asses, too, but I can't guarantee you've thought ahead to get the toilet paper. I didn't bring any pills." Just a fact, while he was sharing facts.

"I am and I could," Billy countered easily, "He's still- ... he doesn't want to be around me yet. He needs space," he defended, arching a brow as Tony continued.

"Magic," he reminded, yet again, "I can handle the TP and the pills. When you need them."

By all accounts, none of the fiasco that ended with Tommy hurt was anyone's fault, making Tony frown and sigh, then mutter, "You sure he's not Simon's kid?" That wasn't really fair, to either of them, Tony knew that; forgiveness was under no obligation to come easily when one had been hurt, no matter the circumstances. That didn't make it less irritating when it got in the way of getting something done.

Drawing himself up out of his whining, Tony opened both of his hands expectantly, willing to accept both offers immediately, he wasn't picky, he was taking anything. Not that he meant on any level that one of his primary concerns had been the bathroom situation down here, Billy was ignoring the point he was trying to make, but Tony would take it as a bonus. "Can you magic us out of here, too?" he asked, knowing that the answer was just going to be disappointment, but maybe it would make Billy feel guilty enough to keep him from thinking too hard.

He pointedly magicked a roll of paper into those expectant hands, but not the pills. He wasn't due yet.

"No...I could in the tunnel, I tested it and thought that meant I could make trips, but once I came inside..." he shrugged a shoulder apologetically.

Not apologetically enough. What was Tony supposed to do with this? He frowned and rolled the paper between his hands, watching Billy expectantly for a beat before tossing it onto the bed behind him with a clipped, "Great. Well," and bouncing back to his feet. "You let me know when you figure that out," he said coolly as he made for the door.
