Calibrations Waiting Room Mingle

WHO: ALL HE ROWS
WHERE: The Secret Tunnel, which has become the Calibrations Waiting Room (or was it always...?)
WHAT: Mingle log for literally anything you'd like to take place in the waiting room between sleep cycles during the event
WHEN: June 3 - July 10
WARNINGS: Please mark individual threads with warnings

For those that have heeded Ga Re's warning, the door within the secret tunnel - which looks suspiciously like the hatch to one of your shuttles - is wide open, waiting for you. You walk through... and the door behind you disappears. You’re now standing in a cavernous, cold, white waiting room. There are hallways leading off the main corridor with names above each. One of them has your name and will draw you toward it, inevitably.

And on the wall, in pink, running letters is written this single greeting:

‘Welcome to Calibrations’.

The secret tunnel has become a large waiting room with chairs, tables, and the same food dispensers available in the shuttles. There are also communal bathrooms - one for each gender - with several toilet stalls and shower stalls in each, including basic shampoo and soap dispensers, like you might find in a hotel. The water isn’t hot, so hopefully you don’t mind lukewarm showers. Somehow, at least, it never goes cold.

Branching off the main waiting room room are the labeled hallways. At the end of each short hallway is a door, with the same character’s name written on them. Anyone can enter any room, regardless of the name written on it. Everyone has their own room, though of course people can share. Each room has a simple bed (approximately queen-sized) and a set of drawers.

You can opt to spend time in your room or in the larger, common waiting room. (And if you do, you can thread it out here!) But every 16 hours, you'll feel a compulsion: You need to sleep. Right now. You find yourself going into your room (or someone else's, if you really want). But you’re drawn to the bed. You can’t help but lie down. And then, you fall asleep.

Cloud tries to move out of the way from Cal completely but the fight did pick up pace in the form of how fast each movement happened. Cal coming up for him in this angle caught him off guard. He arches his back as Cal's hand comes towards him.

There's a quick hop back but he's not exactly sure if his feet will catch his landing or not. It will give Cal a chance to reset or go for Cloud while he's in the middle of landing on his feet.

At the angle Cal is coming from, it's going to take some considerable effort to pull back into a more comfortably balanced stance. So instead he continues with it, even as Cloud moves back, and instead of trying to offset his own balance by reversing his movement, the padawan continues to propel himself forward in Cloud's direction.

He swings an arm back almost wildly, at the same time lashing out a full arc of a kick with his foot on the same side. It's in a way a sort of last-minute jump, his momentum thrown into the roundhouse kick he launches. Landing isn't something he's completely figured out, but he's working in the moment.

Cal coming right for him shouldn't be an issue. Cloud, yet again, doesn't really expect it but the sparring was getting intense. That much he knew so getting cocky will end up happening.

If anything Cloud stands there waiting for Cal to get a closer with his kick. Because you know what Cal? Cloud going to take the hit. He'll be able to take it, where ever it lands he'll just end up taking the full brunt of the attack. Cloud might as well take in all the punches and kicks because it won't really bother him all that much.

The other option would be to tackle Cal straight on and he wasn't about to do that. It is a thought.

His kick connects, and while Cal's surprised at getting a clean hit on Cloud, he's more focused on getting himself back into a more favorable position. Hitting Cloud helps for him to reset, the padawan quite simply dropping down to the floor in a three point landing. Being that close doesn't mean he stays put for long, well aware that Cloud would have the advantage if he were to move in retaliation.

He gathers himself to spring up if he can get away with it, ready to abort and simply go on the defensive if Cloud takes the opportunity to attack.
