Back to the Diner

1. Diner

Radley is so relieved to be back on the surface and relieved that the city is relatively safe. He immediately goes to the diner to inspect things there and bring back the utensils he had taken. He starts making a list of everything he wants to get back in stock as quickly as possible. After he gets what he wants, he'll probably be there way into the night, so happy to be back where he feels he belongs while he's here.


2. Replicator

Radley has to come here for some of what he wants. He decides to start small and prays that the replicator is working properly even after the eruption.

"Hopefully I won't get peanut butter everything," he mutters to himself and anyone in hearing range.


3. Greenhouse

Radley comes here to gather plants. He stays alert, examining everything and looking to see if anyone else is here too. He's relieved to see everything's been watered. He's sure Tommy will be happy too.

There's so much to do at the hospital. Putting things to rights, reorganizing rooms, returning her supplies where they belonged, cleaning up her little apartment in the distant corner. Instead Tae was here.

Instead she was coming into the Diner with a bit of a yawn, looking around. This place at least seemed intact.

"Hello?" she calls out softly. Maybe someone is around and knows their way around this place?

Radley comes out of the kitchen with a smile. “Hey!” He looks very happy to be back.

And here is Tae, so relieved to see him too.

"Hey," she says happily. "Radley. A pleasure to see you. Seems you got started back in rather quickly."

"Well, I figured people would be wanting to eat," Radley says. "It was a long walk back up here. And now I'll have access to making better meals again."

"Indeed," she says with a smile. "I don't suppose I can beg for rice in some manner."

A taste of home she doesn't expect she's going to get.

"Or just some tea."

[crystalmaster]

"Tea I can do," Radley says. "I still have to get more rice."

He sets about making the tea and soon brings it. "Here you go!"

"Thank you, as ever," she says, smiling at the tea. Once it's in hand she takes a deep breath of it.

"Tell me I'm not the only one shocked we didn't get massively Pompeii'd here.

Radley's not the only one to make a visit to the diner. After all that time underground, Link is most definitely itching to eat something other than stew.

He hasn't got any meat - so far, he's yet to find any game he could hunt - but he's made a visit to the Greenhouse, and collected some fruit and vegetables. Maybe he could make a nice pie, or some simmered vegetables. Maybe something sweet, that he can share with Zelda.

Arms full of ingredients, he swifts his hold so he can give Radley an awkward little wave as he comes into the kitchen.

Radley is amused at the load, but happy for company.

"Hi," he greets. "What are you planning to make?"

Link hums softly.

"Pie," he says. "Simmered vegetables. Something sweet, maybe."

[crystalmaster]

"Sounds great," Radley says. "We can use some good treats."

[newmemorywhodis]

"And not stew," Link adds.

Because really, that was the important part.

He probably wasn't going to making any more stew for a long, long time.

Radley chuckles. "Yeah. I love stew, but I'm kinda burned out on it myself by now."

Living off rationed meals that he's had to always share with Pikachu makes for a very hungry Pokémon trainer. Ash makes his way to the diner just like he did before the volcano and enters with maybe a little less bounce in his step but looking to be in good spirits all the same.

"Hey Radley, how's it going?" He asks with cheer, Pikachu waving a quick hello before he hops onto the counter and looks expectantly at the man.

"Pikachu?" He asks, gesturing to the Cumato sauce.

“Hi! Pretty good,” Radley says with a smile.

He chuckles, amused and maybe slightly exasperated, at Pikachu. But he’s not about to deny him after the time they had.

“Sure, go ahead,” he says to Pikachu.

"PiKachu!" Pikachu says happily before moving over to grab the bottle of cumato sauce. At least he asked first.

"Don't eat it all." Ash tells him firmly. Pikachu nods in agreement, just rubbing his cheek against the bottle for now.

"I'm glad to see the diner survived and most of the buildings seem okay too."

Radley is amused. Well, that's sure cute. Very kitty-like, and he likes kitty behavior.

"Me too. It's a shame about the damage there has been, though." He hopes it won't be too hard to fix.

"Yeah.." Ash agrees, his tone sobering just slightly. "But it'll be okay, as long as we all work together, I'm sure we can rebuild everything back the way it was or better." Where does he get all his confidence from?

"Pika. PiKachu." Pikachu says in agreement, cumato sauce still in his grasp.

Radley smiles faintly. He remembers having so much hope. "I definitely think working together is the key," he agrees.

Noctis spent a quarter of the day fishing, and it seemed as if the sea life hadn't escaped everything either. After catching about two badly burned fish, the king felt really guilty and ended up just feeding the fish his bait.

Making sure to promise the fish he'd bring more food for them tomorrow, he made his way back home feeling really bummed.

On his way though, he ended up passing by Radley so after he heard the comment, he stopped.

"Butter popcorn sounds good."

Radley smirked. "It does. It's been a long time since I've had that.

"How's it going?"

The king nodded. "All we would need is a good movie to go with it." And those would be found nowhere here he was sure.

But he smiled at the question. "It's going. Lots of clean up and so much to keep busy with."

Now he knew how Iggy must've felt.

"What about you?"

[crystalmaster]

"A shame we don't have one," Radley mused.

He smirked. "Lots of clean up on my end too. I think the diner's about ready to go. I still have to tackle the hotel. Thankfully, it's not too bad off."

The king nodded, a movie might be a good thing to have here once in awhile. And he'd never ask for one either, because with his luck it would turn out to be a horrible movie.

"Do you need some help?" This was of course a genuine offer, but it might help keep his mind off of other things that he didn't want to deal with right now.

Radley has never thought of trying to ask, but he imagines that if Scotch were here, he would try to get everybody to act out a movie instead of asking for an existing one. He smirks a bit at the thought.

The query snaps him back to the present. "Sure, that'd be great," he says. He also likes to do things to get his mind off of things he doesn't want to think about.
