Back to the Diner
WHO: Radley and everyone
WHERE: Temba
WHAT: Getting food supplies, making food
WHEN: Right after getting back up
WARNINGS: None
1. Diner
Radley is so relieved to be back on the surface and relieved that the city is relatively safe. He immediately goes to the diner to inspect things there and bring back the utensils he had taken. He starts making a list of everything he wants to get back in stock as quickly as possible. After he gets what he wants, he'll probably be there way into the night, so happy to be back where he feels he belongs while he's here.
2. Replicator
Radley has to come here for some of what he wants. He decides to start small and prays that the replicator is working properly even after the eruption.
"Hopefully I won't get peanut butter everything," he mutters to himself and anyone in hearing range.
3. Greenhouse
Radley comes here to gather plants. He stays alert, examining everything and looking to see if anyone else is here too. He's relieved to see everything's been watered. He's sure Tommy will be happy too.

He was glad that they survived. That everyone was safe. But the time spent underground...he doesn't think anybody really enjoyed that.
Link, as he so often does, falls silent. And then places his gathered ingredients on the kitchen bench, and starts pulling together everything he needs to cook.

He finds the silence comfortable and enjoys having someone around while he works. He looks forward to what Link will make.

Diligently, Link works at prepping all the ingredients. Rolling out the pie crust. Adding in the fillings, and getting everything ready for the oven.
And as it turns out, it's not completely silent - because Link hums cheerfully to himself the entire time. But then the pie is ready, and put into the oven - and he has to pause. What is he going to make next?
He looks at Radley.
"You want sweets?" he says.
no subject
"Sure," he says.

A cake would be difficult; he doesn't yet have everything he'd need for one of those. Same with a tart, or a crepe. But maybe...honeyed fruits?
There's another flurry of activity. He assembles together a range of fruits and berries, mixing them in a bowl. Over all of this he drizzles a generous helping of honey - or at least, the closest thing they have to honey.
It is, on the whole, a lot quicker to make than the pie. But when it's done, he presents it proudly to Radley.

Now, though, he just has to wait for the pie to cook. So when they finish eating, he looks at the kitchen, and at Radley. What is he doing? Is there a way Link can help, with whatever it is?

Which, at the moment, involves watching Radley closely - and then following along behind him. The moment Radley picks something to start sorting - ingredients, utensils, spices - Link will immediately start running around, trying to grab all of that thing for him.

"Thanks," he says. "That went a lot faster than I was thinking it would go."

It's always nice, to be able to help. And to finish a quest.
And it's at this point that the oven goes ping!. His pie's done!
He moves to take it out, setting it on the countertop to cool.

Does he want a piece?

"I like food," he says. Which means, of course, that it only made sense to put in the effort to learn how to make food, and make it well. Fortunately, these days Link was a far cry from some of his earlier, dubious experiments.

"Usually just cooked for me," he admits. Most of the time, he wasn't around other people to cook for.

Link likes doing things for others. Sure, usually it's not by cooking. But it's still helping, all the same.

"Bye," he says, when he's finished eating his feel. The rest of the pie, Link is happy to leave behind in the diner, for others to enjoy.
