WHO: Ash, Pikachu and You
WHERE: Pick your battle
WHAT: Ash and Pikachu have arrived. They're a little confused
WHEN: Right before the blizzard
WARNINGS: Uh... idk. A potential electric shock?
Livestock Nursery
Ash hasn't been in town long, maybe an hour or two. He's had long enough to check out the datapoint and wander aimlessly for a bit before he's drawn to the stable like structure.
Of course the first place he'd be drawn to is the livestock nursery. He's watching the glownies with interest even though they're not doing anything particularly exciting. They're just eating their lunch but by the stary-eyed look on his face you'd think that they were doing a whole multi-step dance routine.
There's a yellow fluff ball settled on his shoulder watching the Glownies with the same interest as the young boy that seems to have turned up.
"So cool! I've never seen anything like them before!" He says excitedly, the yellow rodent like creature agreeing with him. "D'you think they're a pokemon?"
"Pi?" Pikachu turns to look behind them as he thinks he hears something nearby.
The Diner
It was inevitable that Ash would end up here, really. It's been some time since he or Pikachu have had a bite to eat. At least, Ash is pretty sure they haven't eaten in a while-it feels like it's been hours and his stomach is gurgling uncomfortably loud. He's a little short on funds at the moment but he can always offer to do the dishes in exchange for a meal or something.
He pushes the door open, practically dragging his feet. One thought playing on repeat in his head; 'Hungry... need food.' The way Pikachu and poised half draped over his shoulder, he'd say Pikachu is thinking the exact same thing.
"Anyone here?" Ash questions, glancing around. It's not very lively for a diner. Hopefully it's not closed.
Special Training in a little west of the Security Tower
By now, Ash has realized there's no Pokémon beside his Pikachu here and that means there's no Pokémon battles. Honestly, it's a tragedy he's not yet ready to face and even then, there's no reason to get lazy. He'd gone off to see if there really weren't any Pokémon around and found himself disappointed- not even a pidgey.
"Well Pikachu, there's nothing for it, we'll just have to keep up our training a different way-hit me with your strongest quick attack." He tells the yellow mouse.
"Pika!" Pikachu agrees, launching a quick attack right into Ash who is easily knocked several feet backwards and falls with a thump into the grass.
"Whoa! That's some quick attack." He praises happily, if a little stunned

The helmeted figure steps to keep himself interposed between them as Pikachu moves. At least he hasn't gone for a weapon. The little creature had come with the boy so he doubts Ash will be pleased to see it slaughtered in front of him. As to why it attacked him though, he does not know, but he will not let it harm Ash again.
"Stay back," he directs at Pikachu.

Pikachu seems to be getting irritated and skids to a halt and lets out an angry noise. "Pikapi! Pikachu!"
"Well, it's nice to meet you and everything, I'm Ash, but you're kinda interrupting our special training." He explains.
no subject
"-training..?"
There's only the slightest hint of surprise to his tone, as though he only injects the minimum effort of emotion into his words. Clearly it has not occurred to him that the two could possibly be...sparring.
He looks back at the boy and then the angry yellow creature in front of him.

"Pika!" Pikachu happily agrees but then turns his eyes back on Felwinter. He launches into a quick attack to quickly try and bypass the warlock, dashing to the side again. Ash moves to angle himself so he can catch him for when he jumps up.

"...you do battle?" With them both on the same side now, he turns to face them, relaxing his stance.
no subject
"Well yeah, but it's kinda hard to have a Pokémon Battle when there aren't any other trainers or Pokémon around." He lets out a sigh that Pikachu shares. "So, we'll just have to battle each other." He says determinedly, standing back up again with fire in his eyes.
"Pika!" Pikachu lets out a sound of agreement, now happily perched on Ash's shoulder.

Such a young boy doing battle. And yet it sounds like this is...not the sort of battle he knows. "A sport of some kind?" he asks as he looks at the two like some new, odd curiosity. But then he's had little experience with young children and...little creatures.
"What do you expect of an opponent to battle? I do not think I should use any of my usual attacks for training. They will certainly obliterate the both of you."
no subject
"Pi?" Ash and Pikachu glance at each other. The boy rubs at his his forehead, pushing his cap up a little as he tries to think about it.
"I guess it's kinda like a sport but not really like that at all. In Pokemon Battle's it's all about seeing who's the stronger opponent and if you get really good you can earn badges and compete in tournaments called Pokemon Leagues. Pikachu and I just got done battling in the Kalos league with our other friends and we even made it to the finals." Ash explains excitedly.
"Pika!" Pikachu mirrors his excitement.
"But I guess our friend Alain was just a little bit tougher." He admits, his excitement dying down slightly.

"I do not know that you will have opportunity to battle other...Pokémon here for sport, but there may be times when you will have to battle to protect yourself or others."
no subject
"Pikapi..." Pikachu looks worriedly up at Ash. The human's hand twitches and he closes his fists up tight, forcing the memory away.
"We've had to do that before, too. But, we always prefer for our battles to be more or less in good fun."
"Pika." Pikachu agrees with a nod but still continues to watch Ash carefully.
no subject
"How does that go?"
no subject
"Pi-ka..." Pikachu pats him gently.
"A Pokémon Battle's supposed to be just a way to work with your Pokémon and see who's stronger-I've made a lot of great friends that way. You was have a referee and if it seems like one side is tired out and can't battle anymore then the battle ends." Ash jumps on the chance to talk about battles.
"When we're battling, our hearts start pumping so fast and it's all we can think about." he explains as his excitement starts building again, Pikachu mirroring him.
"Pi Pikachu!" He exclaims happily.

"A companionship that strengthens through adversity. You must come from a more peaceful time where one can enjoy a planned conflict." What must that feel like? A battle for survival is always exhausting, and while he is not proud of the deaths at his hands, he will not change his mind in that they were a necessary thing to him.
no subject
"Pikapi..." Pikachu repeats, still looking worried.
"Pikachu and I have seen a lot together, but that doesn't mean we can't still enjoy how much the world has to offer." He explains.
no subject
"...show me how you fight."
It is out of the blue, but he has been giving the boy's words much thought this whole time. He turns, giving them some space before looking back towards them. "I will be your opponent," he states, raising a hand in a perhaps familiar gesture, an invitation to come at him. "I will hold back for your sake, but you need not do the same." Unfortunately it doesn't sound like he's boasting or trying to be generous in this. But he is trying to learn.
no subject
"I don't think you know what you're saying. Pikachu's really strong." He tries to explain. "His Thunderbolt can really leave you dazed. Trust me, I know."
"Pika.. pikachu..." Pikachu rubs his head a little embarrassed at the statement.
"I'm his trainer, so I can handle it but we don't want to hurt anybody."
"Pika." Pikachu nodded in agreement.
no subject
He lets his hand fall, standing statue-still as he looks skyward thoughtfully. "If you worry about hurting me, then do not use full force."
no subject
"Pika?" Pikachu blinks and then looks over at Felwinter. This was the guy that was blocking his way to Ash. "Pi-ka!" Pikachu nods in agreement.
"Alright then," Ash takes a step back, extending his arm up so Pikachu can run and jump up. "Give him a Thunderbolt!"
"PikaaaCHUU!" All at once there's electricity starting to form around the small frame and he sends it down right for Felwinter.
no subject
There's a split second before he stills himself from the urge to dodge out of reflex. He wants to prove a point as much as the pair does, and while his Ghost isn't worried the little creature's attack will kill her Risen, she still thinks Felwinter is being an idiot.
Pikachu's thunderbolt strikes true, crackling across Felwinter as he braces for it, an arm raised as though to shield himself. It's still more of a punch than he's expecting, but not terribly unlike an Arc-based strike. Steam and smoke wisp from him as the electricity peters off, the warlord shaking himself out.
"Interesting..."
no subject
"Guess Pikachu decided not to give it all he's got." Ash says sheepishly. "How are ya doing? Not too stunned, I hope-I don't think I have anything on me to cure paralysis." He starts to check his pockets.
no subject
Felwinter slowly brings a hand up, a starlike drone of some kind unfolding from out of thin air in a shimmer of light. The Ghost gives a twitch that looks like a disapproving headshake before she flits about the warlord for inspection.
"I hope you're proud of yourself," she huffs. "Well, there's no serious damage but I'll handle it anyway." She pauses as though recalling they have company, turning her core towards Ash and Pikachu, tipping forward slightly in what might be a nod.
no subject
"What's that?" He can't help but ask once he's regained his composure. He and Pikachu both offered a small wave when she tips forward.
"I'm Ash, and this is Pikachu."
no subject
"I'm Felspring. This is Felwinter," she says, almost hesitant. You'd think after so long that she'd gotten used to the name but it's not like they introduced themselves a whole lot, and usually it was only Felwinter who had to worry about it. People are...very personable here. "Believe me, he can handle a sting."
Felwinter gives the boy and electric creature a nod.
no subject
"So.. what are ya doing out here, anyway?" He glances around.
no subject
"Nothing specifically. I just happened to catch sight of...Pikachu as he seemed to be attacking you," Felwinter admits.
