[ action | closed to Lance ] Valentine's Date - Forward dated to the 14th
WHO: Keith & Lance
WHERE: Diner, hot spring cave
WHAT: Valentine's Date for the newly weds
WHEN: Valentine's Day, Feb 14th
WARNINGS: Just overwhelmingly sweet fluff... sorry. LMAO
[Sure... resources were kind of low, but they at least still had some nice clothes from various missions in the past to wear for the night. And the diner was a decent place for dinner, even if it put their mushy romantic moments in Tommy's sights and made them potentially ripe for teasing. But there was also the hot spring pools... and, despite the stupid blizzard before the date, they had a teleporting wolf that Keith probably would have brought along anyway for part of the date.
And gifts? Well, with Keith, it was more about the time spent together, so finding a present was hard. He wasn't good at physical gifts. But, he did manage to get a gift for his husband that he felt would work. He always spent a lot of time trying to figure out material gifts, but he'd managed to decide this one was a good one.
So, wrapped gift in hand, he went to go catch Lance once they were ready to go, but before they left.]
Hey. [He held it behind his back, like that was going to make it more surprising or something.]

Hey. [He held it behind his back, like that was going to make it more surprising or something.]

Note to self, knit Kosmo a sweater.
Like ten of them.]
Okay! Ready to go!

There was a glow and then a flash... and they were at the diner.
It looked like several people had taken shelter from the storm there, which was fine. There was enough room that they could find a small spot for themselves. Some had even already started digging their way out, but it looked like most people were taking a break for the moment.]
I'll go see if the kitchen's working.
[He stole another kiss from Lance, and then untied the bag from Kosmo, leaving the wolf with Lance.]

[He smiles, settling in and petting Kosmo, staying close to him for the warmth. Though the situation was far from ideal considering the intense blizzard that had only just stopped, it was alright. Nothing could ruin today.]

[And Keith pushed through the doors into the kitchen, disappearing for a bit.
Thankfully, all the electronics and things were back in operation after the storm had passed. So, anything in the kitchen that had been malfunctioning was pretty much back online. Keith settled in and started working on what he wanted to do.
Oh... Lance wanted warmth? Kosmo could do that. He pressed himself against Lance's legs, resting his head in the human's lap. That made it easier for pets, too, right?]
no subject
You're such a good boy, you know that? So good to us, getting us around on Valentine's Day...
[And he'll just be eagerly giving Kosmo all the pets and ear scritches he deserves. Which are a ton.]

Thankfully, it wasn't super long. Keith had picked something fairly easy on purpose, between being able to get the available supplies, and then the weather messing up having it done for them. But, this worked, and it was nice that he was getting to cook something for his husband.
He was no "amateur gourmand" like Hunk claimed to be, but he could make a decent meal.
So, once he was done, he brought it out to serve. He didn't have anything fancy for them to drink, but they had to make do, and it was still a good meal overall.]
Okay... here we go.
no subject
Oh, wow... That looks super yummy, Keith!
no subject
[Okay... so, yeah... he'd been a little nervous. Over his time with Lance, he'd definitely started cooking more often, but he still had moments where he wasn't exactly sure. Cooking for himself, or rather, "making meals", usually involved something microwavable and easy. It wasn't like he had anyone to impress when it was just him. But this was different.]
I hope you like it.
no subject
[He gives him a wide smile before grabbing his fork and digging in. The dish might be simple, but it doesn't mean it lacks in taste, and he makes a pleased little sound before swallowing his bite.]
That-- That's really good, Keith!
no subject
[He reached over and picked up his glass. Just water, but it was fine. It's not like they had anything else at the moment between the storm and supplies.]
Happy Valentine's Day. Our first of what I hope is many as husbands.
no subject
So many. Don't think you're ever getting rid of me, Kogane. Though I guess it's Kogane-McClain now, hm? Or McClain-Kogane... Man, we never did decide, did we?

no subject
I guess. I mean, I hadn't really thought about it because I don't use my last name much. It's not that I'm not proud of us, but I just never considered it to be a big deal.
But... I mean, I guess? Which one do you like more?
no subject
[He whines before taking another bite.]
I'm so indecisive.
no subject
[Keith laughed a little, taking a few more bites.]
Well, which one sounds better?
no subject
[Lance pouts at him.]
That's the problem here!
no subject
[That would put Keith's name first.]

[Lance reaches forward to take his hand, squeezing it.]

I don't know how I got this lucky...
no subject
[He grins at him.]
no subject
I'm not that cool.
no subject
Y'know, point there.
[And he smirks.]
