WARNINGS: Just overwhelmingly sweet fluff... sorry. LMAO

[Sure... resources were kind of low, but they at least still had some nice clothes from various missions in the past to wear for the night. And the diner was a decent place for dinner, even if it put their mushy romantic moments in Tommy's sights and made them potentially ripe for teasing. But there was also the hot spring pools... and, despite the stupid blizzard before the date, they had a teleporting wolf that Keith probably would have brought along anyway for part of the date.

And gifts? Well, with Keith, it was more about the time spent together, so finding a present was hard. He wasn't good at physical gifts. But, he did manage to get a gift for his husband that he felt would work. He always spent a lot of time trying to figure out material gifts, but he'd managed to decide this one was a good one.

So, wrapped gift in hand, he went to go catch Lance once they were ready to go, but before they left.]

Hey. [He held it behind his back, like that was going to make it more surprising or something.]

[Keith blinked, confused for a split second as he tried to figure out if he should be insulted or not.]

You're not supposed to agree so easily!

[And he can't help but cackle; the look on Keith's face is absolutely precious. Shame he doesn't have a proper camera to snap a quick picture.]

Oopsies. I mean, you are absolutely the coolest guy in the universe, Keithy. No one cooler than you, nope. Top of the line chill.

Well, now I know you're just saying that. Besides, how can I be cool if you're gonna call me something like "Keithy".

I mean, I'm not calling you Keithy-cat, so count yourself lucky right now.

[Even though he thinks it's a super cute pet name!]

[Keith groaned a little.]

Oh no... that might be even worse...

[Keith was definitely not the 'cute pet name' type.]

[Oh, Lance knows, which is why he keeps them to a minimum.

[Keith took in a deep breath, then let it out as a sigh.]

I'm sure there are.

[It partially bugged him because he knew he was bad at coming up with them. And he knew he'd never win against Lance if they came down to a competition of pet names.]

[He teases, but it does help him that he actually knows this for sure.]

[And, yes... that got Keith to chuckle and smile. He ducked his head.]

Yeah... yeah, I do.

[Aaaaaaand he might be blushing just a bit.]

I could look at you all day.

[Keith rubbed the back of his neck.]

Besides, there are other things to do, you know.

Right, but they're not better things to do.

[He pauses.]

Not that I can't think of a few better things to do that involve you still, but, y'know!

Please. We're in a restaurant. I'm pretty sure not everyone here wants to hear those ideas.

[Keith just smirked now, poking his food and taking a bite.]

That said, wait until you see what I have planned for 'dessert'.

[He's mid-bite when Keith says that, and it's all he can do to not choke on his food. Eventually he manages, and his face is red from both coughing and Keith's words.]

Oh my god. I love you.

[Keith laughed.]

I certainly hope so. You married me.

[the_tailor]

I did, didn't I?

[He laughs as well, beaming.]

I love your laugh, y'know that?

[Keith got quiet, definitely shy from that comment. It wasn't often that he laughed, that he felt like he wanted to. So much around him just never gave him reason to laugh. The blush stayed firmly in place.]

Thanks... I- I think...? [He was also terrible at taking compliments.]

[Aw, Keith... Lance moves to take Keith's hand and squeeze it.]

It's wonderful. Makes me want to make you laugh again even more.

[Keith let out a breathy sigh and squeezed Lance's hand in return as he gave a tiny shy smile.]

I wouldn't mind that.

[He liked laughing. He liked having reasons to laugh.]

I want to make you happy. Forever, if you'll let me-- And I mean, you'd better, considering the whole marriage bit and all.

[He smiles.]

Well, I wouldn't have proposed if I didn't expect this to at least be long term if not forever.

[And Keith definitely chuckled again at that.]

I mean, geeze.

Forever. I like forever.

[Another hand squeeze, and that smile softens. Despite their situation, he knows deep down that they're destined for each other. Forever will happen.]

[Keith was definitely purposefully not thinking about the fact that there was, at any point, a risk that they could go home. He didn't want to. Even if they went back to the world Drift Fleet was in. He wasn't sure what they'd remember from here, with the Agrii, and the wedding. He didn't want to lose that if he didn't have to.

Though, he knew, deep down, that they'd have to at some point. There were still things they needed to do, to finish, to clean up after everything that they'd gone through with the war. But it was easier to just avoid that for now.]

Me, too... [His own smile softened, too.]

[Even if that happens... He knows they'll find their way back to each other.]
