Time for Tending Plants [Open]
WHO: Shiro and You!
WHERE: Temba
WHAT: Dealing with Plants
WHEN: Throughout Event
WARNINGS: Nothing yet, will update.
Oh What Insanity Is This
It was nice to be able to step off the ship and finally be back in Temba. While it wasn't actually home, it was nice to actually return to the place that had become sort of become home.
That's what he really would have liked to think. As he stepped out of the hangar and was able to survey Temba again, he was completely dumbstruck by everything that had happened. He just... stood there as he stared at it. The plants... there was just so much of it. It was everywhere...
"What the hell happened here? How long were we gone?"
Brave Explorer
Even though the urge to just stand and stare at the mess was really very tempting, it wouldn't do anything to make things better so finally, he went to find something that he could use to start cutting plants down. Dark that his new arm didn't have the same abilities as his old one and he couldn't just use THAT.
However, the metal arm did come in handy (ha) because he could use it to help push plants to the side with less worry about it actually hurting him. No feeling and very hard to damage helped like that.
But after working for a while, it didn't feel like they had really gotten anywhere. He grumbled before looking at the person next to him.
"How long have we been at this?"
Save the Glownie!
Shiro hadn't been planning on being out so late. He'd kind of lost track of time. One would say it was stupid for him to have been so careless as to forget about this part...
Shiro would call it a blessing though since as he was trying to find his way back, he stumbled upon a faint glowing light among the trees. Moving closer, he spotted one of the glownies that had wandered away from the its home in this mess. Maybe it smelled mint somewhere.
But that wasn't all he spotted. There was Thorntooth that was attempting to sneak up on it, ready for an easy target.
Shiro, of course, couldn't let that happen, charging to get to the Glownie first, having only a dinky weapon to try and delay it in his attempt to flee with the Glownie.
Bishop
Sorry, crew of the Bishop or anyone else who would be there, there is temporarily a Glownie wandering around on the ship one night...

"That's all, what, firefighting terms, right? I don't do fire stuff as much, except for rescuing people from buildings. But going REALLY fast around that can lead to pressure differential and then the fire races to follow and yeah, it's not something I know the terms for much."
Easier time with his other arm? Tommy looks like he wants to ask. Because he has to wonder what a second biological arm is going to do. He truly has no idea.
no subject
Don't mind him. Thinking out loud.
But he sees that look so he answers anyway.
"Before this arm, I had an arm that was given to me by the Galra. I could channel energy with it and use it to fight. I could weld metal with that arm."
no subject
"Damn. Sounds pretty bad-ass. If I can ask... why did you change it?"
no subject
As Shiro to told the story, he kept cutting down some of the plants.
"Well, wasn't really my choice. So... I actually died in my world. To save me, the Black Lion of Voltron pulled my consciousness into his so I could survive. However, I was not physically... there and others didn't know. Well, realizing I wasn't around, the Galra released a clone of me that was essentially slowly destroying my team while I watched from afar. Well, eventually the clone was fully awakened and turned on them. Keith went to try and save him and the clone tried to kill him. He was only able to stop it by cutting off the arm. I was finally actually able to tell him where I was and Allura transferred my consciousness into the clone's body."
no subject
"Well, this one is pretty cool. Matches your hair too, so it's extra points."
no subject
"Thanks. Yeah, it is pretty cool. Just wish it was better at fighting, but that's also fine that it doesn't. I've had enough of that already."
no subject
So it's like, balance matters.
"For now, you've got me. As long as I have my speed and my explosions, you'll be safe."
no subject
And that was the easiest way to do it. Not the best definition of weaponizing though.
"Thanks. I appreciate that."
no subject
"Friends protect friends when they can. How they can."
And that should be enough, he hoped. Worst comes to worst, he has to panic call his brother for help.
no subject
"Yeah, they do," he offered with a smile. "And I would for you as well."
Even though Tommy was more likely to be able to fight more effectively than he was.
no subject
“Too bad we couldn’t bring you back a sword or something.”
no subject
"Right? That would be helpful. Could possibly make something here but the quality might be lacking compared to home."
no subject
Instead there's Tommy between the man and the vine, his arms raised to block the blow.
"Fucking hell," he cursed at the thorned vine wrapped around his arms instead of striking. "This ain't good."
no subject
And that pretty much all he got out before Tommy moved and blocked the vine that had been suddenly coming out of nowhere to attack him.
"Not at all." But Shiro would take the knife that he was using and swing at the vine, well away from Tommy's arms so as to not hit him, to try and cut through the vine that had caught his friend.
no subject
Once the vine was cut through Tommy was backing away, trying to pull his hands apart. Which wasn't going well so far.
"Help."
no subject
"Sure thing."
And he was going to use mostly his metal arm to work on untangling the vine from around his wrists. Because it was thorny and he had no feeling in his metal hand.
no subject
"I'm just so used to the plants just being plants."
no subject
He could see that Tommy was shaking a bit after that. A break from it might be a good idea.
no subject
"You... weren't the only one held against your will. But I wasn't made to fight. I was... They just wanted a weapon out of me."
no subject
"I'm sorry to hear that. There's always people who think they can do things like that. Anything I can do to help?"
Besides taking a break.
no subject
"Nah, I don't want to hold you back from your exploration."
no subject
"It's all good. I can go back with you."
no subject
"Exactly, right? Getting put in jail for an accident and then turned into a test subject totally took my angst to horrible teen levels. Worse, I wasn't even allowed to go goth!"
Hard to do it when your hair is white and you're left wearing equally white scrubs all the time.
no subject
There was a faint chuckle at the comment about being goth. "That really is a shame."
no subject
"Damn right. My teenage rebellion went horribly. And then I was 'the crime kid'."
