[Open] Choosing A New Path
WHO: Lauri-Ell, Open
WHERE: Around Temba, Hospital
WHAT: Patrol and New Datapoint
WHEN: Mid-June to end of the month
WARNINGS: N/A
I. I Walk These Lonely Roads | Roads of Temba
No matter the decision as to whether her purpose here was changing or not, there was still some inherent things that were not going to change. After Lauri's morning work out she put up a sign at the civics center training area saying to contact her if someone wanted work out help. And then she set out to do the normal. Hammer in hand, Accuser armor wrapped around her, Lauri-Ell walked confidently through the early morning streets. It was time to do her patrols.
But she was getting started a little later today, and she was happy to see others around, raising her free hand in a greeting and offering them a smile.
"It grows warm in the mornings, yes? Very lovely."
II. Learning The Ropes | Hospital
It had taken time to come to this conclusion. Time and soul searching, and the kindness extended to her by Omega and Billy recently. And the realization that she did not need the weapons the Agrii provided to protect others. Which meant she could learn to protect people in more ways.
That didn't mean she entirely knew what to do with this knew knowledge. Lauri-Ell removed her hand from the datapoint and just... stood there for a moment.
"I still don't understand," she said, a bit frustrated before she turned and entered the hospital. "But I suppose I should see if there is a means to learn properly."

Only the ordeal with Calibrations had left him... off kilter. York didn't pay much attention to his energy usage as he should have as he stomped about. He hadn't a need to pay attention to it too much in that bunker, having plenty of time to recuperate his power to stave off boredom with a nap.
Not this time. There was no way to get back to the factory in time, with it still blocks away, he had laid down in a wild patch of greenery and simply... took an android nap. He looked like an abandoned teenager, laying with his hood up despite the heat as his system repowered. By the time he came back online, he blinked to make sure his optical units were configured properly.
Where was he?
Mm, temp memory said not home. Still the city at least, and outside with the greenery around him. Leaves fall from him as he sits up to look around. What time was it?

“Hello there. Is all well?”
Because an android sleeping on the streets is not normal

"…‘m Fine. Unexpected stasis." He runs his chest where the biocomponent was hidden before realizing he was way too hot. Shedding the hoodie and folding it over an arm, he squints up at Lauri-Ell. "I think we’ve met somewhere before, but I can’t place where."
no subject
"You are the man in the too small room," she notes, her voice full of remembered pity.
no subject
The room she mentioned. He remembered that room. A workshop that he had destroyed in fury. Smearing his blood on the wall to remind himself that he was sentient, that he was alive. People had came and went, but trying to remember them was like trying filling a colander with liquid. There but gone too quickly.
Then she says that and York remembers seeing her there. She had barely fit.
"...It's you. You had trouble moving... you touched the hoodie..." But what was her name?

So, as Lauri is on her patrol, she'll find one quite awestruck girl wandering the roads as well. Her rigging is nowhere to be found, as presumably the roads are mostly safe and she could always summon it if needed. As people do tend to double-take at girls wearing battleship parts, this should also make her appear more approachable! Alas, it doesn't make her appear any less a newbie, as she's consistently wide-eyed and dropping stunned 'wow's at the crumbling ruins and the plants that have seemingly decided that its their city now. And when a six and a half foot wall of muscle approaches, well...
Her jaw just drops. "W-Woooow! I- I've never met anyone as huge as you before!"
no subject
“It seems you have now met such a person. You are a newer arrival then? I do not know you.”
no subject
That leads into her introduction with a friendly wave, "And yeah, I just arrived. I'm Reno, its a pleasure!"
no subject
"I am Lauri-Ell," she answered, looking down at the young woman. "I don't think my size is that important."

Felwinter straightened from leaning over a knee as he surveyed the streets. It wasn't the most ideal place for watching, not when it wasn't even a second story, but he'd not too long ago stood atop the roof of the flanking building that shadowed this one. This was not entirely a patrol for him so much as an excuse to stretch his legs and exercise his abilities.
no subject
Yes, from the dreams.
“You seem to like high places, Lord Felwinter.”
Yes, that was his name.
no subject
"Accuser Lauri-Ell," Felwinter greeted.
no subject
And yet clearly it had happened.
"You remember me I see. Wonderful. Hello again."

"Oh. Yes, it has been warmer, which makes for the warmer evenings that I prefer."
no subject
"It will remain warm, and become more so. Yet I must find myself asking this. Why are you obstructing the road?"
no subject
At the moment Viktor is picking up a roll for each of his arms to clear Lauri-Ell's way.
"But I didn't expect anyone else to be out here so I do beg your pardon."
no subject
ANd could probably help move things.

Hospital
He was trying again to make sense of one of the broken machines when he spotted Lauri, offering a wave and abandoning the task. He knew what it did once the thing was working, but he didn't have a clue how to fix it. Or if it could even do anything for humans (etc). They'd need to get an engineer in here one of these days.
"Hey-" he greeted, "What are you doing here?"
no subject
Still, it is nice to be noticed by someone she has faith in knowing what they are doing. Perhaps confidence comes from the faith others have in you. She beams at him, because yes, she does have faith. And this will assist her.
"Is the hospital not the right place for those with the medical data point to learn?"
Now if only she knew things were broken, she'd probably take the engineering thing first so she could help him fix things between learning sessions.
no subject
"Are you ready to be Doctor...El, I guess?" he fumbles with a small laugh.
no subject
Though she is given pause as she comes up with a response to him. No, that doesn't sound right.
"Medic. I am not suited to true medical care."

"I dunno what's so lovely about it," she grumbled.

"I have found purpose, the world is beautiful today, and I know myself better. Plus we are free. I believe this is rather good for us."
ANd she was not going to refuse her own happiness from the day.
no subject
"Purpose, huh?" she asks, "And what's that?" Frankly, Catra's been struggling to find her purpose. A problem both here and back home.
