Party at the Blue Bantha!

WHO: Everyone!
WHERE: The Blue Bantha in Coruscant's entertainment district
WHAT: A party!
WHEN: The last day before they leave.
WARNINGS: Fun times? Probably drunkenness.

After having found this place on an outing with Echo, Obi-Wan had decided he rather liked this one particular establishment they stopped at. So for their last evening on Coruscant, the Jedi had the place rented out. A network post also going up inviting everyone for one last hurrah before they have to go back to Temba.

Welcome to the Blue Bantha Bar and Grill!

Everything is very blue. A bright blue neon sign advertises the joint in the entertainment district. Its letters in Aurebesh with a little bantha head shaped neon light next to it as well. The lighting inside is distinctly blue as well. There is a mounted bantha head placed on the far wall above the bar, its fur having been dyed blue. Clearly it is the mascot of this place.

There are tables and booths in varying locations for people to sit. With the tables having bantha hide rugs under them that look reminiscent of shag carpet, while the booth seats have bantha hide upholstery as well. There's a band playing in one corner with space for people to dance. While on another side there are screens broadcasting sporting events from across the galaxy. Feel free to place bets on who you think will win!

Even the staff are either blue, or are wearing blue. It won't be uncommon to have a blue scantily clad Twi'lek waitress serving you. The long bar also has blue neon lighting with several stools to sit at, in which you can order whatever drink your heart desires on their menu.

Speaking of the menu, everything is made with bantha products. That is what they specialize in. Several types of Jawa Juice, a kind of beer made from fermented grains mashed in bantha hides, can be found here. As well as Bantha Blood Fizz, a sparkling drink made from purified bantha blood in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic varieties. And of course they serve several drinks featuring blue milk, from just the plain stuff to several alcoholic concoctions. There is also food of course! Bantha steak, bantha burgers, bantha stew, and other meat dishes are served as it's pretty much this galaxy's equivalent of beef. You can even get desserts made from blue milk such as cheesecake and ice cream.

Have fun! The Temba group have this establishment all to themselves for the night!

The Exo gives Obi-Wan a sly look at that, leaning in. "Now I gotta hear about whatever adventures you've gotten yourself in around here. Because there is no way even a Jedi can't have had some interesting things go on in a busy place like this."

"Oh I could tell you many stories," Obi-Wan said as he took a swig from his drink. "Take Senator Amidala for instance," he said while nodding towards Padme.

"She has had many attempts on her life and I was assigned to be her bodyguard at one point."

"She told me she was no stranger to battlegrounds but I hadn't figured in that part of being a politician," Cayde muses, stroking his chin. "Well, gotta figure if someone or multiple someones have it out for you then you must be doing something right. Or doing something really bad. Amidala strikes me as a straight-shooter."

“Padme and I met when her planet was under attack. I assure you she knows how to fight quite well. Though she still needed our help from time to time.”

He chuckles quietly as a few memories came to mind.

“I don’t like politicians,” he admits. “Except a few. I can count them on one hand. Padme is one of them.”

"Battle's definitely one way to get to know someone."

Cayde doesn't seem to have much trouble imagining them out in the middle of a firefight. "What's she use? Firearms? She looks like she'd be good with firearms." Maybe not anything too heavy, but there's always room for surprise!

"I don't think politicians are easily liked," he considers. "Goes back to that whole either doing something right or something really bad- there's no middle-ground. People either like what you're doing or they don't."

“Blasters, yes. An ELG-3A blaster pistol if I remember correctly. Small but has a punch.”

Taking another bite of his food the Jedi nods in agreement with the guardian.

“Yes, you’re right there. Despite her good intentions she had her fair share of enemies as well, obviously. As all politicians do. Some went to great lengths to try to kill her which once involved me leaping through a window and grabbing a droid that pulled me through traffic.”

Cayde nods as he scoops up the last bit of stew. "Small but has a punch? Sounds fitting," he says with a waggle of his brow plates.

"Ooh! Is this your jumping around traffic story then?" He swivels in his seat slightly, leaning an arm along the counter's edge. "You leapt through a window. Heh, heh! That's pretty gutsy. So how'd that turn out?"

Obi-Wan gives Cayde a sideglance at that brow waggling. He’s really not sure what you mean sir! And he isn’t going to comment on it.

“Well I managed to avoid getting killed by oncoming traffic. Though the bounty hunter we were chasing shot at me and destroyed her droid which caused me to fall. Fortunately I was caught by the speeder my Padawan borrowed, though not as soon as I would have liked.”

That was a lot of falling.

Given what he'd heard from Padme and Obi-Wan, Cayde doesn't think she's the sort to be pushed around despite her petite self! With that look from the Jedi he snorts and goes to scoop up his drink to finish that off as well.

"Avoiding getting killed is important, yes. And obvious, given I'm still talking to you." He grins. "Oh! And now bounty hunters! This story gets better and better! Please tell me there's a high speed air chase."

Cayde certainly isn't wrong in his assumption.

"Of course," Obi-Wan said between bites of steak. "Anakin was rather good when it came to those. For the most part. And we managed to apprehend the would-be assassin. In an establishment not unlike this one."

"Oh, very nice! That's some real dedication right there. Jumping out of windows, running around midair traffic." Cayde still isn't sure what all Jedi can do but clearly they pull some Guardian-levels of risk. "Anakin your partner in crime?"

That question causes the Jedi to look a little more melancholy.

“Yes. He was my first student and was a good friend.”

Was is the key word there. Definitely past tense as they were neither friends anymore nor was Anakin even still alive. Or at least so he thought. The wounds are still a bit fresh there.

The shift in mood isn't lost on the Exo, nor the implications. Cayde winces a little, but nods. "Oh..."

He fidgets awkwardly in his seat. Jedi aren't immortal. But then even Guardians could only come back if they still had a Ghost to do so, and Cayde knows enough who have RTL'd, returned to Light, to sympathize.

Catching the eye of the bartender, Cayde lifts his mug. "'nother round here!"

He hadn’t meant to make Cayde uncomfortable, nor to be such a downer. However it’s clear that he had done just that. Though he looks up when the guardian orders another round.

“For me as well,” the Jedi chimes in. Gratefully taking the fresh mug of ardees as it was passed to him. Obi-Wan then glanced at the Exo with a bit of a forced smile. “Though I seem to be making many new friends since I came to Agra 10, and that is something I’m thankful for.”

"That's why I can't say it's all bad, being stuck where we are," Cayde admits, nodding a thanks to the bartender as he scoops up his fresh mug. "Lots of interesting new people, most that you wouldn't get the chance to have met otherwise." Which makes good-byes a lot harder if you let yourself think about it too much, but to the Exo, it just means that he needs to enjoy the company all the more while he can.

"So, this been a fulfilling trip for you?"

“Very true,” Obi-Wan agrees. Plus it was also better than his self imposed isolation on Tatooine. He didn’t have the luxury of socializing with much of anyone there. But here he could be more of himself without the worry of being found. Plus now he had Padme and the twins here. His worry about needing to get back starting to evaporate.

“Yes,” Obi-Wan then admitted to the guardian. “This trip has meant more to me than I think most anyone will know.”

Cayde smiles at that. "That's good. I'm sure the Agrii weren't thinking too hard on things when they decided to send us here but it's still been a more meaningful trip than the previous ones."

He does have to wonder if they'd actually found out anything they were supposed to have. The Agrii had as usual shipped them off with little detail but some clear expectation of some results. Finding anything around this planet is as good as looking for needles in haystacks, not that he ever understood that analogy. Haystacks seem like a strange place to be looking for needles.

"Did everything you figure you need or want to do?"

No he didn’t think the Agrii had any idea what this trip would mean for someone of them either. But that didn’t mean Obi-Wan was any less grateful. He would be sure to leave a note if thanks for them when they got back. It was the least he could do. Especially since while he had found plenty, he wasn’t sure it was what the Agrii wanted either.

“Yes, and then some. I’ve reconnected with my people and was able to see my home one last time. And I was able to share it with all of you. Plus my students were able to have some valuable experiences to help with their learning.”

Not that Cayde doubts anyone hadn't made the most of their time while they were out here, but he nods at Obi-Wan. He can understand something of coming home, and even if it's not the right time, this place apparently still holds up despite a nine-hundred year time difference to still be familiar.

"Nice. You teaching the little green kid? And who else?"

“Yes, and Ezra and Cal. I’m sure you know Cal, but have you met Ezra?”

Cal had been around Temba the longest though. Which actually got him to thinking about something. He needed to talk one on one with the young man again. Probably after they got back.

"Nnnno. I think I vaguely remember him popping up on the network. Damn, what was I doing then?" Cayde scratches his head and then snaps his fingers as he recalls that might have been just about when that whole mishap with the speeder had happened... It all seems like light-years ago.

"Anyway. I'll probably get around to it. If not here then back on Temba for sure."

“I recommend that you do. He’s an excellent young man.”

Ezra was very bright, talented, and wasn’t afraid to ask questions. That made him a very good student, and Obi-Wan was looking forward to teaching him. Not only that he seemed to be very compassionate and had a way of relating to people that he himself didn’t quite have. He had the makings of a great Jedi.

"Well, if it comes on your recommendation...!" The Exo flashes a lopsided grin at Obi-Wan. "You're definitely a lot happier since the last time we talked, and I'm sure it's only partially to do with the lack of glitter."

He lifts his drink, gesturing to Obi-Wan. C'mon, toast! "So, got any recommendations for anything a guy might do to ensure that he might maybe get a footnote in the local history on the account that at some point, say, nine hundred years from now some random Jedi might come across a story about a crazy droid that might not have been and think, 'well, that's interesting' ?"

“I can’t argue that,” Obi-Wan says as he lifts his drink in turn. He can definitely toast to happiness! He’s felt so much more at ease and at peace with himself since coming here.

He then laughs at Cayde’s question. “Intent on leaving with a bang are you? Well I don’t know, perhaps starting your own little droid uprising? I’m certain you could distract the police with a mod of unruly droids while you make your escape.”

"I mean, I could go out with a bang but I figure people would rather keep property damage to a minimum," Cayde grins. He looks to be giving serious thought to Obi-Wan's suggestion however, which may or may not be a good thing.

"That'd be great and all but would that get them anywhere?"
