Party at the Blue Bantha!

WHO: Everyone!
WHERE: The Blue Bantha in Coruscant's entertainment district
WHAT: A party!
WHEN: The last day before they leave.
WARNINGS: Fun times? Probably drunkenness.

After having found this place on an outing with Echo, Obi-Wan had decided he rather liked this one particular establishment they stopped at. So for their last evening on Coruscant, the Jedi had the place rented out. A network post also going up inviting everyone for one last hurrah before they have to go back to Temba.

Welcome to the Blue Bantha Bar and Grill!

Everything is very blue. A bright blue neon sign advertises the joint in the entertainment district. Its letters in Aurebesh with a little bantha head shaped neon light next to it as well. The lighting inside is distinctly blue as well. There is a mounted bantha head placed on the far wall above the bar, its fur having been dyed blue. Clearly it is the mascot of this place.

There are tables and booths in varying locations for people to sit. With the tables having bantha hide rugs under them that look reminiscent of shag carpet, while the booth seats have bantha hide upholstery as well. There's a band playing in one corner with space for people to dance. While on another side there are screens broadcasting sporting events from across the galaxy. Feel free to place bets on who you think will win!

Even the staff are either blue, or are wearing blue. It won't be uncommon to have a blue scantily clad Twi'lek waitress serving you. The long bar also has blue neon lighting with several stools to sit at, in which you can order whatever drink your heart desires on their menu.

Speaking of the menu, everything is made with bantha products. That is what they specialize in. Several types of Jawa Juice, a kind of beer made from fermented grains mashed in bantha hides, can be found here. As well as Bantha Blood Fizz, a sparkling drink made from purified bantha blood in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic varieties. And of course they serve several drinks featuring blue milk, from just the plain stuff to several alcoholic concoctions. There is also food of course! Bantha steak, bantha burgers, bantha stew, and other meat dishes are served as it's pretty much this galaxy's equivalent of beef. You can even get desserts made from blue milk such as cheesecake and ice cream.

Have fun! The Temba group have this establishment all to themselves for the night!

He is a bold one, and not above flirting a little bit either. Though it’s really all quite harmless.

The Jedi nods and he agrees she’s probably got a bit of recovery time to look forward to. He’s honestly a bit surprised to see her here but she’s always been resilient.

“I am well, and admittedly the most content I’ve been in some time. I’ll be a bit sad to leave our world behind.”

Of course it is. They're friends, after all.

She's resilient and quite stubborn. She'll likely pay for the outing tomorrow, but she didn't want to miss the occasion.

"As will I." She agreed. "Though I am quite curious to see more of this other world we're meant to help save."

“There’s not much to see,” he says with a solemn tone. “Aside from ruined buildings and some natural features outside of the city.”

He sighs quietly, knowing that were about to go back to a desolate world where all sorts of strange things could happen. Though he wasn’t so much worried for himself as he was the new babies and their mother. It will be difficult raising them in such a place. Even Tatooine had better access to supplies.

She reaches out a hand to take his, giving him a reassuring smile.

"A place is more than the buildings, ruined or no. We've both seen war-torn planets that have thrived, no matter what damage had been done to them." Sorry, Obi-Wan. You're not going to bring Padme down. She's been through hell and still finds some reason to smile every day.

"But tonight isn't about that. Tonight is about being together and celebrating our time here."

Holding her hand he smiles back at her, glad that she could remain she optimistic.

“You’re right,” he said quietly. There would certainly be more time to see and talk about Agra 10 later. They should enjoy these last few moments while they had them. The Jedi looking up as the band went from playing an upbeat tune to a slower one.

“Perhaps you would like to dance then?” She should be able to handle something like that. Because she was also a reason for him to celebrate.

She has to be. She has to have something to think towards, otherwise she'll be left dwelling on the past... On... Well, the past.

His invitation is met with a laugh and a joyous smile. "I would love to." Giving his hand a squeeze, she lets him help her to her feet and lead her to the dance floor.

So true that is, and Obi-Wan has had to press forward himself. Yet so many things remind him of the past, especially here on Coruscant. It was nice to have her here with him.

So he’s delighted when she accept his invitation. Taking Padme by the hand he led her to the floor and into a slow and easy dance. His other hand placed on the small of her back. It had been awhile since he had done anything like this but he remembered how.

She appreciates the slowness of the dance. She might be healing well, but she's still moving much more stiffly than usual.

One hand gently comes to rest on his shoulder. It's remarkable how easy it is to fall into step with him. It's been so long since she's just danced with someone. It's a wonderful feeling.

"You dance very well."

“I haven’t done this since before the war,” Obi-Wan said with a light laugh. He moved with her easily, his steps in time with hers. It certainly helped that he was both force sensitive and a swordsman. Footwork was very important when it came to that.

“Of course you’re naturally a good dancer yourself. That would be expected of a queen and senator wouldn’t it?”

Ah, yes. That was likely something many could say. She nods, giving him a reassuring smile. "I can say the same. There was little cause for dancing during the war."

HIs compliment gets a wider smile. "Thank you. It would be, but it's also something all children at Naboo learn. Those with an affinity for it can choose to follow that path" Dancing is an art form, after all."

“Really?” That was a curious thing to hear that Naboo children tended to learn such an art. It was something he didn’t know, but then he wasn’t as familiar with Naboo’s culture as she was.

“Learning diplomacy skills as a Jedi include some social graces such as dancing. Though Satine taught me a few steps as well.”

She nods. "Children are encouraged to try all manner of artforms and skills. How else is a child to learn what they have an affinity for?" Naboo is a planet renowned for its art and culture. While some places encourage more 'practical' things, Padme was actually an outlier when she chose to pursue politics and oration instead of a more creative pursuit.

Her smile turns playful at the mention of Satine. "She is lovely. I'd heard the two of you had spent some time together." Ahem, ahem.

“True enough,” Obi-Wan conceded with a smile. “The Jedi work in a similar fashion though we teach other things. Such arts are mostly explored in one’s own time.” You won’t find a class on painting or something in the Jedi temple though they were certainly allowed to discover and indulge in such talents in their free time.

As she went on about Satine though a blush touched his cheeks and he cleared his throat. He knew Padme had been a friend of hers, so it stood to reason that they had talked. “Yes, well, that was a very long time ago.”

"Well I'm pleased to hear that not all Jedi training is meditation and lightsabers." She teased, smiling at him. She knew there was more, of course, but she couldn't help but give him a hard time.

Oh but that blush was a pleasant surprise. She didn't think Jedi could blush. She chuckled. "It's nice to know the great Master Kenobi had some fun, even if it was a very long time ago."

He laughed lightly at her teasing as they continued to slowly move across the floor. Finding such contentment in enjoying his time with a close friend. A long lost friend from his perspective. Being in her presence again brought a joy he hadn't felt since before the purge.

"Well, let's just say that I may not have been the great master Kenobi if things had gone a different way." Obi-Wan had told Satine as much once, and he stood by that confession.

With the war, it had been quite some time since she had danced like this. It felt so wonderful... even if she had to admit she felt a little guilty enjoying herself when there was still so much turmoil at home. Though it was important to enjoy oneself when one could, especially before taking on the enormous task of helping Ara-10.

She smiled, "I believe a great many things would have turned out differently had that been the case."

“Oh certainly,” Obi-Wan agreed. The content smile on his face was rare these days, but this trip had allowed many opportunities for the Jedi to be... well himself again. Despite a few bumps here and there. Not the least of which being Padme’s own arrival and giving birth.

“Though I think our paths still would have crossed. Especially if I had become the consort to the Duchess of Mandalore.” Thats a thought that certainly strikes him just as he says it. How different his life would have been. Would he have been happier? It’s hard to say, as he had loved being a Jedi, though still it made him wonder.

She was certainly tired, as should be expected from one who'd so recently given birth. But she was happy - especially being able to spend time with Obi-Wan like this.

"Consort Kenobi." She laughs, "doesn't have the same ring to it, if you ask me. But you are correct. We would have meet during one of the times I visited the Duchess. How different things would have been!"

“You don’t think so?” Obi-Wan says this with mock astonishment. “Senator Organa pulls it off quite well, and I like to think I could as well. Perhaps a bit more creativity?”

He pauses to think as they danced. “His Royal Highness the Duke Consort of Mandalore Obi-Wan Kenobi?” Even he has to snort at himself as it does sound rather ridiculous. “Or perhaps just Obi-Wan of Clan Kryze would do.”

She gives him a look, smirking at him. "Yes, but Senator Organa is also a Senator, so he's not typically addressed as Consort. You are correct, though, he does pull it off quite well. Have you ever met Her Highness?" She absolutely loved the queen in the short time they'd spent together. She only wished it could have been more.

The first string of titles makes her wrinkle her nose and shake her head. "No. Too stuffy for you. Obi-Wan of Clan Kryze could do, though."

“Breha? No, I’ve never had the pleasure, though Bail has spoken of her often enough.”

The man clearly adored his wife. “I think... they will make excellent parents one day.” Though he doesn’t say why he thinks that, but he had felt comfortable leaving Leia in their care.

“Too stuffy even for me?” He laughs lightly, imagining Anakin fainting in shock. Obi-Wan has often been accused of being stuffy, and he’s well aware of it, even when it’s not always said to his face.

"She's a wonderful woman. Incredibly strong and wise." She smiles, "She invited me to visit for a week during my first term as Senator." It had been a wonderful, and very educational, week. Her smile falters at his prediction. "It's not really my place to say... but Breha can't have children." Padme says gently, "Not since the accident on the mountain. Though I agree that they would be if they could."

His laugh brings her smile back, however. "I'd like to think that you're not as stuffy as everyone imagines."

“Oh... I see,” Obi-Wan says quietly as they continued to dance. Noticing some eyes on them too and glancing in Cobb and Mando’s direction before turning his attention back to Padme.

The fact they couldn’t have children explained a lot actually. “Perhaps they could adopt instead,” he ventures. Though he grinned a little at what she says next.

“Really? I do have my moments,” he admits. “But there’s a lot about me most people don’t know.” While Padme is no Jedi, she is certainly perceptive, and this only proves it.

She notices Obi-Wan's look, but chooses not to follow it. He's an ever attentive Jedi, after all.

"I suppose you're right. The war has made a lot of orphans. They'd be able to give any children an excellent home, I'm sure." Why this talk about the Organas and the possibility of them having children?

Oh, but his other comment is far more interesting. She gives him a sly smile. "Oh? Then perhaps I shall endeavor to learn more about you."

A brief shadow flickers over Obi-Wan’s face at the mention of the war making many orphans. How true that was, and yet there was more than Padme herself even realized. Though that expression is fleeting and it’s gone with the turn of the conversation.

“I welcome it,” he says with a chuckle. “Though I can’t guarantee that there will not be anything you won’t like.”

For he has the feeling that one day he will have to tell her. One day they will have to have some very difficult conversations. But not today.
