Party at the Blue Bantha!

WHO: Everyone!
WHERE: The Blue Bantha in Coruscant's entertainment district
WHAT: A party!
WHEN: The last day before they leave.
WARNINGS: Fun times? Probably drunkenness.

After having found this place on an outing with Echo, Obi-Wan had decided he rather liked this one particular establishment they stopped at. So for their last evening on Coruscant, the Jedi had the place rented out. A network post also going up inviting everyone for one last hurrah before they have to go back to Temba.

Welcome to the Blue Bantha Bar and Grill!

Everything is very blue. A bright blue neon sign advertises the joint in the entertainment district. Its letters in Aurebesh with a little bantha head shaped neon light next to it as well. The lighting inside is distinctly blue as well. There is a mounted bantha head placed on the far wall above the bar, its fur having been dyed blue. Clearly it is the mascot of this place.

There are tables and booths in varying locations for people to sit. With the tables having bantha hide rugs under them that look reminiscent of shag carpet, while the booth seats have bantha hide upholstery as well. There's a band playing in one corner with space for people to dance. While on another side there are screens broadcasting sporting events from across the galaxy. Feel free to place bets on who you think will win!

Even the staff are either blue, or are wearing blue. It won't be uncommon to have a blue scantily clad Twi'lek waitress serving you. The long bar also has blue neon lighting with several stools to sit at, in which you can order whatever drink your heart desires on their menu.

Speaking of the menu, everything is made with bantha products. That is what they specialize in. Several types of Jawa Juice, a kind of beer made from fermented grains mashed in bantha hides, can be found here. As well as Bantha Blood Fizz, a sparkling drink made from purified bantha blood in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic varieties. And of course they serve several drinks featuring blue milk, from just the plain stuff to several alcoholic concoctions. There is also food of course! Bantha steak, bantha burgers, bantha stew, and other meat dishes are served as it's pretty much this galaxy's equivalent of beef. You can even get desserts made from blue milk such as cheesecake and ice cream.

Have fun! The Temba group have this establishment all to themselves for the night!

((OOC: This is a mingle log so go nuts!))

Cayde had kept odd enough times whenever he decided to go back to the hotel or the hangar between his extensive gallivanting that there's been more than a few people he hasn't really gotten to check in with. The opportunity of an unexplored city had been much too tempting, and a part of him wondered that maybe people might enjoy having the space and a change in scenery and well, company, that he hadn't tried extensively hard to drag people along on his madcap adventures.

This gathering however serves as a reminder that this was only a brief vacation, although he wonders that they'd found out anything the Agrii had meant for them to. The Exo had enjoyed a few drinks and sampled what he could of the food, stepping outside for a break.

Hopefully the Archivist doesn't startle too badly when the Exo comes over beside him while he's out there, dropping an arm over his shoulders. "Hey buddy! Glimmer for your thoughts?"

Does Jon jump at the unexpected approach?

Of course Jon jumps at the unexpected approach. Though it's more of a big flinch combined with a short yelp of surprise than an actual jump. It's still enough for Jon to turn his head around to look at Cayde with wide eyes. "Jesus Christ, Cayde! You startled me!"

Though the Archivist calms down again quickly, sighs and then turns his attention back to the traffic above them.

"Can you imagine Temba to ever be this lively again..."

"Don't worry, I would've caught you before you fell over the rail," Cayde reassures- if his anticipating the possibility is even reassuring at all. He gives Jon's shoulder a pat before slipping his arm off to lean against the railing as he lets his gaze follow the Archivist's out towards the neat lines of speeders crossing the skies and even beyond and below.

"....it's a stretch," he admits. "But I don't think it's impossible. Won't happen immediately, takes time for a city to get back on its feet. Takes people too, though."
beholding_archivist: (It's only a few holes in my face)

[personal profile] beholding_archivist 2021-03-30 10:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, I believe that you would." Jon replies with a little laugh. If anything, he trusts Cayde to not let him die.

He steps forward to join Cayde at the railing, but his attention drops down to the Exo. "Your Earth... It's not in the best state either if I recall." Cayde has mentioned something of that sort before.
deal_me_in: (I did a lot of shooting that day)

[personal profile] deal_me_in 2021-03-30 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Cayde shrugs. "It's not thriving like it used to be, anyway. We've only got one big city. Some smaller communities outside of it, wouldn't be surprised if a few more started up after the Red War." When people realized that even with great walls, Guardians among them and the Traveler above them, they weren't completely safe.

"But it's still something, 'specially if you were there at the very beginning when we were just getting things together. True, there's been a lotta years between then and now, but we made something of it."
beholding_archivist: (Just let me work)

[personal profile] beholding_archivist 2021-03-30 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
One big city, smaller communities around it. Jon smiles at the idea. "Maybe that's a state Temba will be in one day. When the Agrii can set foot back onto their planet and repopulate it." Then they would have done their job right.

And yet the recent setbacks make it seem they are nowhere closer to such a goal.

"I just hope we don't have to fight any wars to make any progress at all."
deal_me_in: (We were in a meeting about something)

[personal profile] deal_me_in 2021-03-31 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
It's a nice thought that Cayde will hold to. The possibility that they won't be able to do anything to help the Agrii get settled back home isn't something he's even given thought to.

"Yeah. That'll be nice. I wonder if there were any other cities aside from Temba." The ruined station and the tracks to somewhere certainly suggest there had to be somewhere else to go.

He nods emphatically however, at Jon's point. "I like a good fight, you know me- but wars drag everyone in, and no one needs to be dragged into one of those."
beholding_archivist: Do not take. Thanks. (Just... ew.)

[personal profile] beholding_archivist 2021-04-01 10:48 am (UTC)(link)
"There ought to be other cities." Jon agrees to Cayde's unspoken assumption. "Unless those tracks lead into dead ends. But--" He pauses a moment. "Huh. I wonder if Tommy has ever gone to check out where they lead. Of all of us he is... huh. I will ask him if he has done that already."

Which is possible. Tommy has been there longer than Jon and may have done some further exploration.

With a little smile making it to his face, Jon looks over at the Exo. "And I would appreciate not to get dragged into any battles, thank you. I'd rather go and explore some other buildings in Temba. I doubt anyone there would mind me breaking into any of the closed off buildings there."
deal_me_in: (Don't know don't care)

[personal profile] deal_me_in 2021-04-01 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, good point. I haven't heard him discover anything except that island thing. And his running after that new light source didn't turn up anything except more forest."

The memory of the Red War is still fresh in his mind. Their safe haven was proven to be vulnerable. They were proven to be vulnerable. While Cayde doesn't think it'll come to an all-out war trying to fix things for the Agrii, he still has some personal words for whoever made trouble for them and drew all these other folks into it, and they all start with the sound of his Ace of Spades.

"Well, you know that's something I always look forward to," he quips, his easy grin hiding the darker thoughts that swirled in his mind. "What were you eyeballing next?"
beholding_archivist: (Happy Mystery Times!)

[personal profile] beholding_archivist 2021-04-03 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, they certainly agree that approaching Tommy to maybe scout out more of the planet won't be a bad idea.

But Jon's mind is easily drawn elsewhere by Cayde's question and he offers a somewhat guilty little smirk. "It's... Actually not far from the tower. Pretty overgrown, sealed off building. The flora around it glows faintly at night. I really want to know what's in there - And why it is sealed off as it is." It obviously looks dangerous to some degree? But when has that ever seriously stopped Jon.
deal_me_in: (I got this!)

[personal profile] deal_me_in 2021-04-04 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, that look. It makes Cayde grin even more. "And people say I have an eye for trouble." Because things around here aren't sealed off without reason. But who's he to warn Jon off from a new adventure?!

"Well, you know I'm always all for tagging along if you need back-up or something. And you know who's going to whine if he's not invited too."
beholding_archivist: Do not take. Thanks. (Your complaint is being ignored.)

[personal profile] beholding_archivist 2021-04-04 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's only trouble if we don't find anything useful in there." Jon waves off the accusation with a stubborn little pout, but then nods. "I haven't asked Tony yet, but- I wouldn't mind having some extra hands going in there. The lock on it seem massive." And so far have been withstanding the energy storms remarkably well.

"Hopefully Temba has been doing okay while we were away."
deal_me_in: (We were in a meeting about something)

[personal profile] deal_me_in 2021-04-04 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Cayde laughs. "That's not trouble, that's boring," he objects. "I'm sure between the three of us we can handle a giant lock!" He doesn't seem to be too worried about why a place needed a lock, convinced that it must be something valuable.

His expression sobers a little as he looks back out at the city lights. "Eh, it's been sitting there how long without us, probably won't have changed much unless we had another bug invasion."
beholding_archivist: Do not take. Thanks. (This is all the smile you get.)

[personal profile] beholding_archivist 2021-04-05 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Jon grimaces at the idea of another invasion. "Thanks, Cayde, but I'd rather avoid a repetition of that experience." He still gives the Exo an appreciative pat on the shoulder. "But... Right. I will let you know when we head to break through that lock."

Jon will make sure to look for some suitable tools for such expeditions as well.
deal_me_in: (That's good right?)

[personal profile] deal_me_in 2021-04-05 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, you're not the only one," the Exo chuckles. He doubts anyone would like that to happen again, but if anything, it's just a reminder that they couldn't even be too careful around town.

He gives Jon a nod at that. He can even offer a thermal detonator to that effort if it comes down to it. Unfortunately Jon and Tony are of the more practical mind when it comes to planning for necessary equipment in those sorts of situations otherwise.
