Night at the Museum (OTA)

WHO: Kyle Broflovski and YOU!
WHERE: The Underground of Coruscant (Level 4)
WHAT: A very wholesome field trip to the lost Galactic Museum.
WHEN: During the event. (Mid-ish?)
WARNINGS: The foulest of language. Injury extremely likely. More as needed.



Kyle's seen aliens before.

A group of them from the Jannex Galaxy, a spaceship full of greys, the Marklar, and Jeff Bezos. This is the first time he's seen quite so many different kinds in one place, but even so it doesn't take him long to feel comfortable enough to talk to a few of them at the Senate Tour that Obi-Wan had suggested he take. One of these friendly aliens had mentioned in passing that it was a pity that the Galactic Museum could no longer be toured, due to it having been lost and forgotten somewhere down on Level 4.

A lost museum seems to Kyle like exactly the sort of thing the Agrii would want them to find. And even if not, well. Kyle really likes museums.

Is it difficult to get to Level 4? Oh, yes. And extremely dangerous. This doesn't deter Kyle one bit, and so he puts out a call on the Network to let people know that hey, he's putting together a museum field trip and anybody is welcome to come! Provided, that is, that you don't mind finding your way down through huge portals/ventilation shafts into a world where sunlight is less than a memory and dangerous people and creatures lurk around every corner.

But hey, if you decide to come down, you'll find a too-tall ginger waiting for you with some flashlights and a notepad.

You bet your ass he's going to force you to use the Buddy System.

He chuckled. "Well, the paladins and the lions were minor celebrities when we visited planets. Of course, probably helped we freed some of those planets from the Galra."

Shiro glanced over his shoulder to look at the map.

"Actually, yeah. Kind of used to it by now. At least, how to be diplomatic towards people when you really don't know much about them."

"So you're a space hero," Kyle states.

"And diplomacy is really important. How else can you get people to work together, right?"

[lionunchained]

"We are. Not exactly planned, but rarely things like that are planned. They just sort of happen."

He nodded. "Exactly. And alien races are harder if you don't know anything about them... or if you have century-old information from Coran that is no longer relevant."

[kyley_b]

"Shit, yeah, I bet." He thinks about that for a moment. "I can see why the Agrii would want your skills, dude."

[lionunchained]

He chuckled. "I suppose so. It would have been nice if they had asked first."

[kyley_b]

"Uh, yeah." Kyle swings his flashlight around as they walk, trying to see more of the abandoned underground. "You ever seen anything like this before? This old? But so... modern, still, somehow?"

Shiro chuckled at that reaction. But as they continued down towards the museum, he looked around in the faint light of his arm and the flashlight that Kyle was holding.

"Kind of... but certainly not this less."

[kyley_b]

"It's so weird," Kyle murmurs. Outside the museum proper he stares at the size of the building.

"I can't believe they just left it here."

"It is," Shiro agreed, looking up at the building to survey it. "I understand the concept of wanting to put in something new and better, but if their entire planet is like this, it's a horrible waste of space."

[kyley_b]

"I mean, how many levels down are we? They just kept building on top of everything. Just forgetting in a bid to reach the top."

Kyle walks up the steps of the museum and then just sighs. "That seems like a metaphor, really. A shitty one." He looks at Shiro with painful openness. "Tell me the truth - you think we can ever do better? As people?"

"Yeah, it seems strange to me that everything below was completely ignored after a point. I mean, this could probably still be a nice museum, but no one remembers that it exists."

He followed, looking around. "It does. And I'd like to think that we could. We already treat some people better than they do." He's thinking of Cayde being treated like an object because was more robotics than person.

[kyley_b]

"Do we?" Kyle asks. "Where you're from, anyway."

[lionunchained]

"Well, maybe not in homeworlds. Mine has robots there. But I haven't seen the way they treat Cayde here back on the world that Agrii pulled us to."

[kyley_b]

"Well, I mean... we're the only ones there, right? Maybe we were all picked specifically because we're NOT total assholes!"

Oh, Kyle. So optimistic.

Shiro laughed at that. "I liked that thought. I'd certainly hope so."

Probably the best way he had heard that phrased.
