Night at the Museum (OTA)

WHO: Kyle Broflovski and YOU!
WHERE: The Underground of Coruscant (Level 4)
WHAT: A very wholesome field trip to the lost Galactic Museum.
WHEN: During the event. (Mid-ish?)
WARNINGS: The foulest of language. Injury extremely likely. More as needed.



Kyle's seen aliens before.

A group of them from the Jannex Galaxy, a spaceship full of greys, the Marklar, and Jeff Bezos. This is the first time he's seen quite so many different kinds in one place, but even so it doesn't take him long to feel comfortable enough to talk to a few of them at the Senate Tour that Obi-Wan had suggested he take. One of these friendly aliens had mentioned in passing that it was a pity that the Galactic Museum could no longer be toured, due to it having been lost and forgotten somewhere down on Level 4.

A lost museum seems to Kyle like exactly the sort of thing the Agrii would want them to find. And even if not, well. Kyle really likes museums.

Is it difficult to get to Level 4? Oh, yes. And extremely dangerous. This doesn't deter Kyle one bit, and so he puts out a call on the Network to let people know that hey, he's putting together a museum field trip and anybody is welcome to come! Provided, that is, that you don't mind finding your way down through huge portals/ventilation shafts into a world where sunlight is less than a memory and dangerous people and creatures lurk around every corner.

But hey, if you decide to come down, you'll find a too-tall ginger waiting for you with some flashlights and a notepad.

You bet your ass he's going to force you to use the Buddy System.

"We're a very short-sighted species, I'm afraid."

Kyle smiles. It's a bright, genuine expression. "I like to think so. People are trying to change it, and I think we can get there. Just takes a lot of effort."

At this, Echo smiles too. "Effort makes it worthwhile."

Kyle still has hope, and if there are others like him then there isn't too much to worry about.

With that, he lightly punches the young man's arm. "Hey, let's go see what else is around here."

Punching Kyle is a lot like punching a broomstick, but he grins. "Dude, totally. Come on, I wanna see if we can't find like... space guns or something. Lasers? I dunno, whatever badass military equipment you guys had in the past."

He's punched worse. Kyle has the right idea, though.

"Lasers, ion cannons," Echo says with a shrug. There's no killing the vibe of learning and they can learn on the move. "There should be something– is there a directory?"

Museums have signs and directories. It can't be that hard to locate it, right?

"I saw a big black screen looking thing in the lobby - I think that was probably the directory once. Funny how much we lose when the tech fails, huh?"

He peers up ahead, shining his flashlight carefully along. "Think I saw signs, though. With our luck, probably just to the bathroom."

Echo clicks his tongue. "Sloppy," he thinks aloud, shaking his head. "Who knows how long it's been sitting like that." They've seen the outside of this place. Inside's not as shabby, but a little more maintenance wouldn't hurt...

He clicks his flashlight back on with a slight grin. "Might as well try."

"Couple hundred years, I think," Kyle replies seriously. "The dude on the tour said the lower levels are all super old and forgotten. Kinda sad, isn't it?"

He grains and nods. "See, that's the spirit. Nothing interesting ever happens if you don't take a few risks."

[on_repeat]

That deserves a low whistle, his brow creasing in thought. "Yeah. It goes to show how quick something becomes irrelevant."

But he likes how Kyle is ready to forge ahead. "Risks are part of the job," Echo adds, glancing at one of the larger throughways. "Maybe if we head through there..."

"It's a pity, though, because there's so much knowledge down here, so much history."

Kyle nods, happy enough to follow Echo's lead. He knows this galaxy better than Kyle, at any rate. "Yeah, totally. I mean, what's the worst that could happen?"
