Welcome to Coruscant everyone.

if you don’t already know, we have found ourselves on one of the core worlds in a galaxy that myself and several others are from. We are approximately 900 years in the past from my point of view.

Coruscant is entirely covered by one city, and is the capital of the Galactic Republic which governs much of the galaxy. This world is quite literally an urban jungle with over five thousand levels stacked atop each other from the ground up. The atmosphere is artificial and you are unlikely to find any natural spaces here.

It is my recommendation that you keep to the upper levels as much as you can. However, if you do decide to go into the Underworld I advise caution as it can be quite dangerous.

"Ken..." Her voice fails her for a moment. Nooo sirrrr. Starling squints at him for a moment. He looks so much younger, but ... but ... that's a name that was driven into her brain by hours upon hours spent at the Lutheran Orphanage watching and rewinding a much-loved VHS with the younger kids. She decided to test her theory.

"Youuuu ... don't know someone named, uh, Skywalker, do you?"

That visibly startles Obi-Wan as she says that because that definitely not something he expected!

“I... Yes. Why do you ask?”

How can she possibly know anything about that???

"It's... nothing," she says, with a wave of her hand. "A story I used to hear told when I was a little girl. Stuff about long ago, in a galaxy far, far away. You two are ... kinda famous where I'm from. I just always thought the whole thing was made up to entertain kids."

Obi-Wan is looking mighty skeptical over there. He doesn't have the feeling that she's telling the entire truth, but doesn't exactly feel like pressing the matter.

"I see. Well, did you have any actual questions regarding the planet?"

"I have quite a few. Since you're one of the folks from here ... do you have any hypotheses about what the Agri have sent us here to investigate, already? I figure you've already got a bit of an advantage on the rest of us."

She decided that once he answered, she'd borrow an old tactic, and give a little more to earn his trust - she could tell her answer hadn't satisfied him in the least.

“Well they said they wanted to know why so many of us come from this galaxy.”

Which honestly is quite a mystery to him as well.

“Of those of us that are, a significant portion are Jedi. Perhaps that’s why they brought us here specifically.”

"What is a Jedi, exactly? And why is this place so relevant to them?"

She remembers the word, something about a force. Glowing laser swords. But most of it was lost to time and had been replaced by more practical knowledge.

“And here I thought you would know.” This said with some sarcasm since she knew about him and a Skywalker. “Coruscant is essentially the center of the galaxy. The capital of the Galactic Republic, and where the main Jedi Temple is located.”

That’s the easiest question to answer so he starts with that before going on to the next.

“The Jedi are the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy. We are followers of the Force, specifically the light side of the Force.”

"I beg your pardon," she excused herself with a graceful dip of her head and just enough of a blush. "It's been a long time since I saw that story. ... Thank you for reminding me. The Force, I do remember that. Some kind of ... divine guidance? In my time, we compare it to God's will."

“A more accurate depiction is that it is life. More succinctly the energy that is in all life, though it certainly has a will. It is part of the calling of a Jedi to follow that will.”

So while he wouldn’t liken the Force to a god, that concept is not entirely off base either.

Starling had been raised Lutheran, but had long since lapsed, so it was easier to wrap herself around open-minded concepts of faith and spirituality. Following the will of life itself sounded like a pretty good vibe to her, actually, and she gave a soft hum of agreement. Wasn't that what she'd done, when she'd tried to take Hannah the horse and flee the Bozeman ranch? Wasn't it what she did when she'd rescued Catherine Martin, then again when she'd been forced to take down Evelda Drumgo but managed to save the baby in her arms and wash the blood away? She felt a sudden lump rise in her throat, felt the trueness of what he was saying, and nodded slowly.

"I like the sound of that, Mr. Kenobi. ... I think I like it quite a lot."

“I’m glad that you do Miss Starling. For the Force is in all of us and you don’t have to be a Jedi to know that or follow it.”

He can see the emotion in her eyes and it caused to smile with compassion. He didn’t know her life, but he suspected it was a difficult one. That was something he could relate with.

“Why don’t you come to the Jedi Temple. You can learn more of the Force there if you like.”

"I think I'll take you up on that invitation. Is there a particular time I should come?"

“There doesn’t have to be. Just let me know and I will meet with you and show you around.”

"Alright." She took a moment to consider. "I'm still new to these little devices of ours. How do I contact you privately?"

“I’ve never used that feature myself. Not yet anyway but I believe...”

And he gives her the instructions on how to contact his inbox.
