Rude awakening - Closed to Grogu

Last thing Mando remembers, is him and the kid--no. it was Grogu now--aboard the Razor Crest, leaving the planet Corvus. They'd found a Jedi, Ahsoka Tano, who'd refused to train Grogu in the end. Insisting the kid was too attached to him. Mando had been a mix of both frustration and, oddly, relief. But she did give them a lead to the planet Tython, one more attempt to try and find a Jedi to train Grogu. A last chance to finish the quest. Or at least that's where they were SUPPOSED to be headed.

Mando didn't remember blacking out, but suddenly he's waking up to rough uneven ground underneath him, instead of the pilot seat of his ship. It's only a moment, before he becomes fully aware again with a start and quickly climbs to his feet. Pistol automatically drawn from it's holster, in the ready as his visored gaze took in his surroundings. Somewhere in the back of his mind, the ruined city looked familiar, but he couldn't place why. His gaze eventually fell on the orb, and he found himself drawn to it. Touching the surface with his free hand and the information, and memories, came flooding into his mind.

He stumbles back from it, free hand coming up to grasp at the helmet for a moment, as he shakes it to clear his head. Agra-10, this maker-forsaken planet and the damn Agrii. What the hell was he doing back here? Then he drops the hand, and looks up with a start.

"Kid?" Had Grogu come with him once again? He tried to keep calm, as he looked around frantically for a sign of the small green child.

Exploration - OTA

Eventually father and son will move out to take in the city and see what, or who, they can find. Mando has Grogu tucked in one arm, or if not, the kid might mot be too far away. Just expect a pistol drawn on you, if you startle Mando. He's tense and on alert. One of the stops is to the hangar, the fact that the First Breath refused to open for him making him frown under the helmet. Eventually finding that the Twin Roses and the Starduck open when they get near them. He tilts his helm to the side and down to look at the kid.

"Want to check them out?"

And being the mischievous kid he is, Grogu of course is prone to wandering off on his own to explore. Fortunately for the kid, Mando's usually not too far behind in looking for him.

He does, indeed, like the view. He grins and makes a very happy noise. Whoa! This is great! Oh... but she's asking him a question. He looks around, his ears tilting as if he's trying to listen for something. Nope, he doesn't hear Din anywhere. But he does see the edge of one of the ships, and that's where he saw Din last. He points in that general direction.

"Ah, the ships. Of course, that makes abundant sense," she agrees, turning to walk in that direction. They will cover the ground far more quickly under her power than under his.

"Though they truly are unpleasing vessels. Very primitive."

[the_child]

Wheeee! This is definitely better than walking on his own. So much faster!

Wait, primitive? He looks up at her with an inquisitive noise. What do you mean primitive?

Of course they were primitive. Has he not seem them? They practically rattle.

"What I would give for a Kree fighter. Swift ships, and sturdy.

[the_child]

A what? He coos, his ears turning a little. Kree? He's never heard of that before. What is it?

[kree_soldieress]

Well, it's her, clearly.

"Of course, we have been making ships for millennia now. We have good practice."

[the_child]

He's never heard of a Kree before though he's seen plenty of blue people. But, hey, who's he to judge. He's green. Also, sounds legit. He nods, understanding.

[kree_soldieress]

"These ships cannot even create their own jump portals. Which means they are slow."

Which meant they didn't serve in a crisis.

[the_child]

Jump portal? Is that something like hyperspeed? He's heard of that. Otherwise, lady, he has no idea what you're talking about. But, hey, that's not new.

They are closer to the hangar, and Lauri-Ell moves carefully over some rough land.

"I hope you are not here alone, little one. It is not safe in the city, or out of it. There are things that would eat you in the woods."

[the_child]

Grogu looks around for a familiar shiny helmet. Din should be around here somewhere. At least, that's where he left him. Unless he wandered off, he tended o do that.

Dad jumping in

Din's there. He'd eventually noticed the kid had wandered off, and had checked on and around the ships. Where had that kid gone?. He's just heading out of the hangar, when he spots the big blue woman...and more importantly, a small green kid.

"There you are!" Without thinking, he basically beelines for them, reaching out to try and take Grogu. "Can't believe you wandered off."

Ah, an adult. One who knows the child. Lauri-Ell smiles and offers the child over.

"He was exploring I believe. I am glad it was possible to return the little one."

[the_child]

Hi Dad! He's making friends! Grogu burbles happily, extending his arms out to Din as he's passed from one tall person to the next. Eh, there are worse ways to live.

He gratefully takes Grogu from Lauri-Ell. Then frets for a moment like a worried parent, as he does a quick check over of the kid. He then lifts the helm to look up to Lauri-Ell, and nods.

"Thank you." The tone from the vocoder sounds a little grateful. "Need to lkeep a better eye on him."

[kree_soldieress]

"At his age, there are chances that keeping an eye on him is not sufficient. Children get to many places," Lauri-Ell suggests. Or so she has heard.

[the_child]

Huh? Him? He blows a raspberry. He's innocent as can be! How dare you talk about him like that?

The raspberry gets a look and dad sigh from Mando. Sure kid, totally innocent. He looks back up to Lauri-Ell.

"Yes. Will have to find another way." He doesn't need the kid getting into trouble here.

What a strange thing to do. Lauri-Ell looks at the child, confused.

"Was that sound a language I do not know?" she asks.

[the_child]

Guh? Grogu makes a noise and tilts his head. Of all the noises he makes, that was the one that definitely was not language. But, hey, he's heard weirder speech out there.
