I have been working on brushing up on things that have come to pass before my arrival here, and how what I found might allow me to provide further assistance to people.

[The woman looks... a bit nervous before she continues speaking.]

It is clear to me that the cold time of the year is approaching. There are things that may not be as available to us to do otherwise with the cold. And I have thought perhaps there are things we can do to foster a sense of community.

[Kree were very big on small unit cohesion.]

Often my people did this with combat training. This does not seem appropriate. Is there something else that people do in this season that I might be able to assist in setting up?

[Okay, maybe she wants to learn more about humans and their habits.]

If not, I can teach people to fight. It is good for fitness.

[ It's fine. He will be wearing clothes. ]

[ The attire Jon shows up at the former civic center may not be what Lauri has been referring to, but it- It will keep Jon warm? It's really just a long-sleeved shirt, pants and a coat that sits weirdly on him due to originating from a planet not inhabited by humans.

But it keeps him warm. ]

[ He calls out while stepping slowly through what once would have been the building's entrance area. ]

[The woman is of course already there, clad in her full Accuser armor because the full coverage of the armor and the cloak and hood kept her warm. But she at least had the mask pulled back and smiled at Jon]

[Perhaps she's a bit intimidating given the size, but she is cheerful enough. Oh, and the large hunk of stone on her shoulder that must weigh at least as much as Cayde probably helps her look impressive. She's happily carrying it aside to put next to a pile of other things she's already moved.]

This place is quite impressive. I have noticed space for residential accommodations. If my duties did not require me elsewhere, I would find it pleasant.

[ It's a mutter. A mutter accompanied by a pair of wide eyes taking a moment or two to stare up at the tall woman.

Or maybe rather UP. ]

Ah- Y-yeah... I-... I.....

[ Pause. ]

We haven't met in person yet.

[ He certainly would remember! ]

[Yes, her face is up here. Very nice of you to look at it. She smiles and puts the rock down and then turns back to him and dusts her hands off. Hands that could likely engulf his head. NOt that she had reason to do so. Instead a hand was extended to him.]

[ He takes in the size of that hand for a moment, then reaches out his own to accept the offered handshake, at last settling with a smile. ]

A pleasure to meet you as well. I see you already started clearing up some space.

[ He gestures towards the rocks. ]

I take it you have found a suitable room within the building?

Yes, but it would be a good place. There are improvements to be made, of course. I shall see if I can find rope or chain to wrap up some of this rock. Then we can use it for lifting.

If that's alright with you, I personally would like to refrain from having to lift these any time soon.

You mentioned your... Duties?

[ The question is more in the look he directs up at her. ]

[She moves to him and starts to circle the man, looking him over. There was much figuring to do. Have to help him get stronger.]

[ Jon opens his mouth to say something, but closes it when she steps forward, not sure what to expect and then turning his head to follow her movement with his eyes. There is a certain familiarity in being judged like this. One that has the Archivist grimace in slight discomfort.

[ And he just blinks up at her, surprised enough to actually ask. ]

I have not noticed more people arriving.

They arrived before I did.

[Oh Jon, wouldn't it blow your mind to hear who? Not that Lauri-Ell has any problems with that.]

Ah, yes, I suppose I should keep track of who is here so that I might better protect you all.

Oh, I- I must have missed their arrival! That's unfortunate.

[ He can meet them later, though. Or eventually will. ]

And you... You want to protect us all.

[ Looking at her? He can see that. But what are her chances against the storms...? ]

Perhaps you did. But they do not seem remarkable at first glance.

[They will. She knows it well. But his comment earns a wide smile. Yes, protect them all.]

I am a soldier. Or was made to be one. I don't like violence, but protecting those who need it is good.

Oh. And here I was certain to be the only unremarkable one on this planet.

[ He feels a little reassured now. Especially with how important she makes it sound to be remarkable. ]

A-anyway. I agree that it is admirable to protect others. Though many here are very capable of looking after themselves... At least outside a storm.

We will start with a focused workout, to build your stamina.

[ He follows the gesture with his head first, swallows once and finally nods slowly despite the small frown on his face. ]

[ When he steps towards the indicated area, Jon looks back towards Lauri. ]

So... You have certain exercises in mind, I assume.

Of course I do. You are small, not for a human, but comparatively.

Do you know how to do basic calisthenics? We can start with push ups. Core strength is good.

[ He's aware that he's comparatively short for a male human, but he is always fine with not having that pointed out too directly. ]

Calisthenics.

[ For a moment he looks surprised, but then appears almost apologetic. ]

I... Read about it. When looking into a gym run by- I mean. It's that practice from ancient Greece that doesn't require any equipment.

[ A pause, then he remembers the suggestion of push ups. ]

Uh, r-right. Push-ups. [ Inhale. ] I know those. I can do those...

[Oh, well, she appreciated that he knew the origin. She did not.]

Then let's go deal with the push-ups first. Unless you would prefer a walk before laps. No, wait, stretching first. Humans need more stretches.

[ Oh, the 'walk' option sounds like something he could definitely do! Stretching? Sounds like some odd Health at the Office things Elias would come up with, but Jon keeps the wincing to a minimum. She does have a point. ]

Well, I did ask for this, I suppose. Let's see...

[ And he's just like... Stretching his arms over his head? Look, he may know his way around myths, legends, gods, demons or whatever esoteric stuff a type of sport may be named after, but you may bet he never actually has done or paid attention to any warm-ups. He might be more familiar with cat stretches. ]
