I Can Fly Anything. Pt. 2
WHO: Bishop crew! (Poe Dameron, Rayla, Cal Kestis , Vincent Valentine, Lance) or any of their visitors
WHERE: Ship/Space
WHAT: Time for take off
WHEN: Beginning of trip
WARNINGS: N/A currently
The mission could have been to fly out and pick up their laundry and Poe would have been eagerly ready to take off so long as it meant flying again. Really flying. But this was a much heftier mission, whether they were rushing out to the Agrii's aid or right into a trap they had to be ready, and Poe made sure anyone who chose to come along understood what they could be up against. He wasn't going to fault anyone for staying behind when they were going in blind.
Once they've set of Poe spends most of his time in the cockpit, even when he doesn't need to, it just feels right being back behind the controls again. BB-8 and CC-9 wander about looking to make friends, occasionally doubling back to make sure their Master actually takes a break and remembers to eat. You might catch him during one of those times, or maybe just the droids.

Having flown once with Poe before, the padawan is at least confident that they're in capable hands when it comes to the ship. He's brought along tools and things that might be needed for maintenance, along with a few other items that he doesn't feel like leaving behind.
If he's not in the way, Cal will poke his head into the cockpit, just to have a look at things out beyond. He's used to sitting up front with Greez, but otherwise he'll be about.
BD-1's been more or less left to his own devices as well, provided he doesn't go poking at things he shouldn't. At least he's got fellow droids for company. Hopefully no one gets caught in the path of a random game of tag.
Visiting The Shippppppp!
And definitely don't judge whichever droid let him on board. They're all good.
"Yo, Space-Shatner. How's it feel to be back in space?"

With no access to a Moon source, it was hard for her to use her invisibility power. But she was still pretty sneaky... when not crammed into a tiny ship. She could be found sneaking around trying to avoid the droids. Ask her what she was doing?]
no subject
Poe looks to Cal with a small smile.
"I'm thinking we'll be able to manage a better landing than last time," he teases.
<3
"Missing the hyperdrive, but it's nice to be flying and not have someone shooting at you," he muses playfully, "Little dull. How you doing?"
no subject
Poe could guess though, happening upon her as she struggled to avoid them.]
...They won't hurt you. They're just playing.
no subject
Cal laughs, arching a brow at Poe. "Aw, I didn't think the landing was that bad."
no subject
"Hyperdrive? No clue what that is. But yeah, not being shot at is good. I'm..."
Fine. It's a lie.
"Surviving."

"Surviving is something," he offers with an understanding nod. "The shuttles helping? Feel a little less trapped?"

But grats Poe on the getting his issue. Claustrophobia was ticking up higher and higher with every day.
“It would be a shit trip if I couldn’t visit friends.”
no subject
And hey, he gets it.
"A lot of people drop out of the navy when they realize just how tight things get. Especially in a Starfighter."
no subject
“Navy? But they deal with boats on the water.”

Space wasn’t something anything but SHIELD and SWORD and other similar forces dealt with.

i fucking LOVE that cut scene so much
"Wow, Kid? I'm practically ancient. But it was okay. The shuttle is SO small."
ME TOO
He laughs kindly. "I haven't had a chance to look at it yet. How small are we talking?"
Re: ME TOO
"I've got more years of life experience than you do, and squeezed into less time. I'm just that amazing."
How small are they talking? Too small.
"Super small>"
no subject
"You'll be a regular sage in a few years," he applauds with a grin.
Poe pauses to gesture around himself, holding a hand just above his head. "Like this tight? Or do you have some wiggle room?"
no subject
"Years? Give me enough food and I could probably manage it in a few months."
He does follow Poe's hand and shudders to see how low that is.
"More room than that. But fuck, man. That sounds horrible."
no subject
Poe gives a sympathetic smile. He knows a lot of people can't handle being in that tight of a space. "You get used to it. Or most people do. The best pilots are on the shorter side, little more head room. You should see Ren scrunched up in his Silencer."
no subject
Get used to it. Yeah, that's not likely. Tommy's history was too complex for that.
"I'd rather just have plenty of space to run."
no subject
He laughs as he hears the droids in the background. At least some of them have something to preoccupy themselves with. "So have there been many opportunities to take the ships out before?"
no subject

There's a longing look, and Poe looks out through the view port with a sigh. He gets it. They might go about it different ways, but the freedom and excitement that comes from speed, it's in Poe's veins.

Droids. ...mechanical beings, with programming or artificial intelligence to run them.
no subject
no subject
"Nah, man. That doesn't scan."
no subject
What does all that even mean? It seems a lot more like magic... and anything that's not elemental magic is dark magic, and that's... [She looked unsure. It was bad, it was so bad... but this wasn't home. Things were different here, and she had to keep reminding herself of that.]
Everything's so strange.

[He crouches down, and with BB-8's permission he opens up one of his access plates to show the mechanics inside.]

"I'd rather not be stuck in minds. People saw too much last time."
