Seeking Out A Good Friend(s)
WHO: Cloud Strife, Reeve Tuesti (mini-c), Following Cloud is Tony Stark. Eventually Vincent Valentine will make an appearance. -- Everyone's piling in Reeve's room.
WHERE: Reeve's Room
WHAT: Right after this thread
WHEN: See above
WARNINGS: No one is going to die. No one is going to get hurt. Cloud needs to tell the other two (Reeve and Vincent) about this planets familiarness to their own. Oh, Geostigma, is making a slight appearance. Because even a super soldier can only take so much of that ickiness and I was heavy hinting at it in the previous thread. death is mentioned. I'll update as I go, I'm being terrible right in the beginning but it'll go to replicator talk I promise!
Cloud could do nothing about their current situation. Finding an exit had been near impossible, he's thought about that. He still thinks it's some kind of social experiment being done. It could be a mental training exercise. Cloud shuddered in those thoughts if this would be an actual test within SOLDIER. He knew that mako infusion could make anyone go crazy if they didn't have a strong will. It's not an easy thing to think about but also he's been told to not continue worrying otherwise it'll eat at you.
There's plenty of people here to find comforts in. He's more combatant of Cayde and Tony because of Tony wanting to get under his skin. He grits his teeth knowing that he's dealt with plenty of people like that. Cloud's constantly trying to prove himself and it still didn't truthfully matter where it went. Being here had its own struggles. He relived so many memories but he also knew how to handle things as they come at him. He's done too many planning that ended up in failure. People died, people got hurt, he couldn't do anything in those moments. Even when learning of an immediate threat there were times where he wasn't there to help. It was slowly starting to eat away at him. He couldn't really help anyone here at the moment. He could potentially die here tomorrow because of his own illness, he's got a lot of shit on his plate already. Bringing that topic up on a first date is a real mood killer.
As he wandered through the hallway, he would start weaving as if not really following that straight line forward. He recognizes what's happening and he's not going to be all that happy about it. Cloud puts his right hand up against the wall and leans against it with right shoulder. Cloud grabs hold of his left forearm shortly after squeezing harder than he had at the table. Why now? He felt his heart beat pulsing within his ears. Cloud shuts his eyes as he focuses on his breathing to try to calm the fast beating before he continued on.
He's thankful that he doesn't feel any wetness that he normally does. Cloud bandaged it enough in case something happened. But he's going to ran out of supplies eventually. After regaining his strength he stands up straighter and gains his composer to mosey down the hallway. Once he's in front of the name plate he wanted. 'Reeve Tuesti', he gives three sharp knocks with his knuckles of his right hand.

"One of us needs the medical data point, if not Cloud or you," His eyes were settled on the dark-haired man. "I'll take it." He didn't understand the dynamic between Reeve and Tony, nor appreciate what Cloud had to do with this rift. "Is Tony going to be a problem?" He asked, in the very least wanting to verify that much.
no subject
“He didn't care about story time. He cares about the replicator being fixed. But I know what parts it needs, what wires it should take to fix it. Since I have the Engineering datapoint knowledge and I looked at the replicator with it.” He slowly starts to wrap the bandage around his arm since what else is he going to do with it out. Cloud does it slowly at first knowing if he goes too fast he won't cover what he actually needs. He’s been doing it himself since he got here so the movements seem skilled and quick with the wrapping around. “If you lost a friendship because of me, go get it back. Because I'm not about to handle that guilt on top of all of my other shit.”
He has enough to deal with and he’s kind of with Vincent in wanting to know if Tony would be. But-- “Tony and Cayde brought up how we’re dealing with all our worst possible memories being here. Anyone could see my memories of blowing up mako reactors, stabbing Sephiroth with his back turned, to who knows what else. Would that have changed his mind on his friendship to you?”
no subject
“My memories have been rather easy so far,” Reeve shrugs. Which is shocking when he hears it from others.
But he sighs as he moves to sit on his bed. “Vincent, medical please. I need the engineering and Cloud, even with others here, I feel Vincent and I might well feel better if you also have one of use to fall back on.”
But the rest...
“If this place’s power structure requires draining the planet’s energy, we need to decide what to do. Because I can’t kill another world.”
no subject
However, he agreed with Cloud, and the young man is not responsible for other people's actions, feelings, or motives. Tony's accountable for anything he does, says or decides with Reeve. Whatever that is, or was.
He then thought about the other subject at hand. Reeve held some guilt for what had happened on Gaia, and Vincent did not feel that was entirely Reeve's alone. Each of them was culpable in Gaia's torment, for one reason or another. Reeve did not kill Gaia, nor would he be solely responsible for killing this world. "We can think of ways to limit our carbon footprint on this world, but I don't think we can eliminate our need for resources from it completely."
no subject
“As long as Vincent is willing to take on medical. I’ll take on whatever point is left that I will be most interested in. We won't let you end up hurting this planet. This planet could end up being our new home for sometime or…” There’s a pause while he sighs softly. “There will come a time when we’re not here. I've encountered a few people already who have dealt with not having someone here anymore.” He doesn't want to touch more on the subject.
“Vincent has an idea.” Cloud looks at Reeve as he starts to walk backwards more. “Might be better to talk about all of this once you pick up the data point."
no subject
And there wasn't a risk of burning the planet around them.
"I've been alone so long, Cloud. So very long. Before the two of you arrived I was here for months. Before even that I spent so long in another place, not completely unlike this. I've had to figure it out on my own for a while, had to learn to rely on strangers. The sorts of connections one makes with these people, yes they're fleeting but..."
That didn't make them less real. He sighs and drags his fingers briefly through his hair.
"It doesn't matter. What I care about right now is that you're alright. And I know Vincent will likely watch you just as well, if not better, than I would. So let us help you, and do not hesitate to come to me at any hour if you have need of me, Cloud."
no subject
With Reeve's promise to be responsive to Cloud's needs, Vincent felt he should also remind Reeve, "we're here with you now, Reeve." In that, they too would be responsive to Reeve and his needs.
no subject
"We're here for you as much as I know the both of you are here for me." He focuses on Reeve while agreeing with Vincent on his soft reply. "But I don't care who you decide to be friends with, even if I don't trust them. Connections are important. I did run a delivery business." Cloud keeps in that Reeve could be friends with the Turks or Rufus Shinra. He's not going to go down that worm hole, he accepts it knowing it could be for business.
"What do you need from us?" Because he wants to make sure Reeve is okay, and if he needs privacy Cloud would understand. He'll stay if it's needed.
no subject
"I just want to make sure you're okay. When you are... can I have a moment to talk to Vincent?"
no subject
"If it's about your timeline, Cloud may benefit from knowing." In other words: Vincent is fine with Reeve telling Cloud Vincent's fate.
no subject
"Will it?" He can't help but ask the question quietly.

He's going to explain it a bit better and in detail. "I only know what parts it needs and how to fix it because of the datapoint knowledge. Otherwise I wouldn't know how it died. It could have been from my request too. But I do not plan on requesting the same items to test it."
That would be stupid.
no subject
"Materia? Consider me jealous. I've not been able to use anything but my inherent magic since I arrived in the last place."
Then again, who was to say magic would work here.
"I do not know if the replicator could make materia, though. How can one copy memories like that?"
no subject
"The Great Gospel manual. Could it create that?" Vincent eyed Reeve, then Cloud.
no subject
He presses his lips together. "I will figure out a way to ask about the Great Gospel manual." Cloud doesn't think it would work. "Materia would be a work around just like the wooden baseball bat."
Cloud's logic is that the Materia could be used for non-violence but so could a wooden baseball bat. They didn't know if the replicator could sort out that information. I fought better machines. He sighs out loud knowing that was the worst possibly comeback line to say to anyone in regards to the replicator. But it was the damn truth of where he comes from.
no subject
"I think the machine has to know what something is, or at least be walked through the concept. Do either of you remember the contents of the book?"
no subject
Vincent was quiet, stumped, and lost. No, he didn't know anything about the manual.
no subject
Vincent had been so quiet he was sure it could have been a giant long thought process. Cloud realized an answer didn't happen and then glanced back towards Reeve keeping them in that silence.
No, he doesn't recall anything on it.
no subject
That earned Mini bouncing happily up and down.
“Mini there is friends with his little droid companion. I’m sure I can talk about the replicator with him. But I don’t know. We might have to seek other medical solutions. That Billy boy... He might be able to do something.”
no subject
Vincent looked to Cloud. His lips were thin and his eyes narrowed. A thought came to him, "Does the geostigma follow you in sleep?" If Cloud isn't afflicted with the symptoms of the geostigma while he's asleep, at least down here in the forced sleep, then maybe Cloud could benefit from longer sleep sessions to avoid the geostigma progressing - if it did here.
no subject
"I was told by Jon to go to Billy about the Geostigma. Jon is a gatherer of information not a doctor." Cloud found out he wanted to go back to the library. He looks at Reeve. "I wasn't sure how to exactly approach Billy on this topic."
It's hard since Cloud asked Jon while being within the mind space of Jon's dream. Cloud glances over at Vincent. "I hide it within my dream or is it actually out in plain sight disguised as a feather?" It didn't matter where geostigma went since Sephiroth was within his calibration in a quick memory. A very quick memory of Nibelheim.
no subject
"I suppose we can evaluate that if Cloud visits one of our minds in the evening, rather than the other way around."
no subject
A coffin. Vincent lowered his eyes to the floor as he recalled the time he spent in Jon's room.
