Seeking Out A Good Friend(s)

WARNINGS: No one is going to die. No one is going to get hurt. Cloud needs to tell the other two (Reeve and Vincent) about this planets familiarness to their own. Oh, Geostigma, is making a slight appearance. Because even a super soldier can only take so much of that ickiness and I was heavy hinting at it in the previous thread. death is mentioned. I'll update as I go, I'm being terrible right in the beginning but it'll go to replicator talk I promise!

Cloud could do nothing about their current situation. Finding an exit had been near impossible, he's thought about that. He still thinks it's some kind of social experiment being done. It could be a mental training exercise. Cloud shuddered in those thoughts if this would be an actual test within SOLDIER. He knew that mako infusion could make anyone go crazy if they didn't have a strong will. It's not an easy thing to think about but also he's been told to not continue worrying otherwise it'll eat at you.

There's plenty of people here to find comforts in. He's more combatant of Cayde and Tony because of Tony wanting to get under his skin. He grits his teeth knowing that he's dealt with plenty of people like that. Cloud's constantly trying to prove himself and it still didn't truthfully matter where it went. Being here had its own struggles. He relived so many memories but he also knew how to handle things as they come at him. He's done too many planning that ended up in failure. People died, people got hurt, he couldn't do anything in those moments. Even when learning of an immediate threat there were times where he wasn't there to help. It was slowly starting to eat away at him. He couldn't really help anyone here at the moment. He could potentially die here tomorrow because of his own illness, he's got a lot of shit on his plate already. Bringing that topic up on a first date is a real mood killer.

As he wandered through the hallway, he would start weaving as if not really following that straight line forward. He recognizes what's happening and he's not going to be all that happy about it. Cloud puts his right hand up against the wall and leans against it with right shoulder. Cloud grabs hold of his left forearm shortly after squeezing harder than he had at the table. Why now? He felt his heart beat pulsing within his ears. Cloud shuts his eyes as he focuses on his breathing to try to calm the fast beating before he continued on.

He's thankful that he doesn't feel any wetness that he normally does. Cloud bandaged it enough in case something happened. But he's going to ran out of supplies eventually. After regaining his strength he stands up straighter and gains his composer to mosey down the hallway. Once he's in front of the name plate he wanted. 'Reeve Tuesti', he gives three sharp knocks with his knuckles of his right hand.

Vincent was sure they would do their best to figure it out, but he didn't have Reeve's confidence. Vincent moved to an adjacent wall and leaned his shoulder against it. His arms crossed over his chest. He watched Reeve work out a plan, and Mini become responsive to the idea.

Vincent looked to Cloud. His lips were thin and his eyes narrowed. A thought came to him, "Does the geostigma follow you in sleep?" If Cloud isn't afflicted with the symptoms of the geostigma while he's asleep, at least down here in the forced sleep, then maybe Cloud could benefit from longer sleep sessions to avoid the geostigma progressing - if it did here.

"BeeDee is his droid companion." Cloud looks over at Vincent. "He's a young man that picks up on learning things pretty quick from what I can see." Cloud knows that Cal can use a weapon and preferred them. He looks back over at Reeve while giving him a nod. It would benefit Reeve to talk to Cal if Cal did put the replicator together. Cloud needed to at least tell him that it's broken. Reeve would be able to help fix it.

"I was told by Jon to go to Billy about the Geostigma. Jon is a gatherer of information not a doctor." Cloud found out he wanted to go back to the library. He looks at Reeve. "I wasn't sure how to exactly approach Billy on this topic."

It's hard since Cloud asked Jon while being within the mind space of Jon's dream. Cloud glances over at Vincent. "I hide it within my dream or is it actually out in plain sight disguised as a feather?" It didn't matter where geostigma went since Sephiroth was within his calibration in a quick memory. A very quick memory of Nibelheim.

"Jon has the medical datapoint, he's as valid to approach as the boy is," Reeve counters. Yes, he knows what Jon is. That said, he doesn't much know how to approach Billy. The boy is more or less a stranger. But powerful. That much he was certain of from the boy's mental space.

"I suppose we can evaluate that if Cloud visits one of our minds in the evening, rather than the other way around."

Vincent looked between the two. He felt content in that they seemed to have a plan moving forward. He reflected on Jon. He had met him in the man's dream. Jon's room stock full of wonders, spells, and horrors.

A coffin. Vincent lowered his eyes to the floor as he recalled the time he spent in Jon's room.

Billy is a complete stranger to Cloud. He's not having the best time with first impressions. But he never really was to begin with. It'll come down to the right opportunity and approach.

"I will try to keep an eye on the geostigma when I visit other rooms." He hadn't really noticed or paid attention. Cloud knew he was going into their mind space in a way. How would does that affect it? He could pass out from a geostigma flare up. Would he still end up in the calibration room?

Cloud gives a nod to Reeve. "We have an idea of what we need to do now. Just have to wait for the exit door to appear." He sighs weren't they always looking for doors or exits within the Calibration rooms.

"Is there anything else we need to go over?"

"I suppose not," Reeve answers, sighing. But his attention still goes to Vincent. The man has been so silent. He supposes he shouldn't be shocked.

Vincent didn't think of anything else he ought to mention. He agreed with Reeve with a soft nod of his head. He matched the other man's gaze.

"I'm going to go search my room real quick for bandages. If I need more I can go to Jon." Cloud knew Reeve offered but he could ask Jon himself. If he encounters Tony he'll behave or handle it however it comes. They are all within the tunnels and could encounter anyone at any given time anyway.

He looks at Reeve. "Thank you, Reeve. If you need anything yourself, get in touch with me. I'll keep you informed in any changes that happen." Cloud starts to head towards the door. If neither of them stop him, he'll slip out of the room quietly.

"Of course. I know I can depend on you," Reeve agrees as he watches Cloud go. And if the blonde manages to get out, he looks instead at Vincent, raising an eyebrow.

Vincent's eyes followed Cloud from the room, then returned to Reeve. He noted the raised brow. Vincent straightened his head and gave Reeve a look over. "What is it?" He felt as if Reeve expected something of him, perhaps to leave with Cloud or to answer something he'd neglected to previously?

Once Cloud is gone Reeve turns his attention to Vincent.

"I need advice. A lot of it."

Vincent's head leaned to his side. His eyes scrutinized the other, once again, and settled on the other man's face. "What is it?" To come to Vincent for advice-Reeve must be desperate, Vincent did not think he was too credible with advice.

"Do you... have any advice on letting go of unwise loves?"

If anyone had experienced one, it was VIncent.

Reeve's question as unexpected. Vincent felt stunned, or blindsided, by the content of the problem as well. What advice could he offer Reeve? Sleeping it off for a few decades doesn't help. Lamenting over it doesn't change the outcome. However, Vincent would not deny his feelings for Lucrecia may not have changed, but he did need to move on, and he had while honoring those feelings and honoring her.

He often went to visit her, speak with her, spend time with her, and he did these things without expecting reciprocation from her. As long as she's happy.. that's enough. Love is a selfless gift. "I never tried." He explained, "I don't know how you would do that." Or why.

"Ah," Reeve sighs, and sits heavily on his bed, looking... tired. "Well, then I suppose I require far less advice."

"Let go of expectations." Vincent offered. If Reeve kept the love and let go of the expectations, then Reeve may find his actions begin to change. Vincent thought on behalf of Reeve's situation, despite not knowing anything besides the candid few words Reeve did share. "Love is a gift, but not when it's selfish."

"Oh, I've already let go, I suppose," Reeve sighs, but he shakes his head. "Thank you. And... I'm glad to have you here, my friend."

Vincent had significantly less time in this world compared to Reeve. He only knew a handful of people, and he wasn't sure if one of those people were the subject of Reeve's question. He wouldn't pry, Reeve would share with him more if he wanted to. Vincent offered a small nod.

Of course Reeve would share more. He... he liked Vincent, and he didn't mind talking to the man.

"With that... I suppose I must deal with Mini now. He doesn't approve of my decisions."

The doll was in fact standing there, arms crossed over its tiny little chest.

Vincent was not shy about his interest. His eyes moved to the doll, unable to help but stare with an intensified admiration for the sentient(?) toy. "Mini has advice for you then?"

"Yes. My Inspired Constructs have their own personalities. Cait Sith is very different in nature than Mini is. Perhaps it's because much of his development happened on his own, getting to the Golden Saucer, and then was shaped by the course he took with Avalanche. Sure, I was an influence, but not in the same way. Mini..."

He looks at the doll which waves at Vincent.

"This one has been shaped by interactions with other people. And he spends FAR more time concerned about my mental and physical well-being. As well as my life choices."

"Than you do?" Vincent couldn't help but respond, and his eyes were back on Mini. Something seemed a little different, and he attributed that to Reeve's explanation. "Mini has to be the one to look after you because you're neglecting to?"

"You've met me, Vincent. Of course more time than I do. He wants me to be... Well, happy. Content."

Are you really that shocked? Please don't be shocked. This is just who he is. Reeve offers a sad smile and shakes his head.

"He makes sure I sleep when I'm not here. He chides me to eat. He tries to tell me to... Well, he knows I let myself become stressed too easily."

Vincent looks as he feels: unsurprised. His eyes lingered on Mini. "What will make you happy, content?" He looked from the toy to Reeve.

The toy just shook its head, because it can't vocalize the answer. As for Reeve, he smiles.

"I'm not sure it's something that is easily found, or gained. I'm good enough with content, when it comes to it."

How was he supposed to say the answer was to feel... like he wasn't alone. Like he didn't have to live for only the work? It wasn't something that would make sense to Vincent, he suspected.
