♤ Net Work - [Video]
Hey my dudes!
[Here's everyone's favorite Exo- okay, so for most here he's likely the only Exo anyone's ever met- strolling about within one of the many abandoned structures of the city. This one's got some strange gears and machinery of some sort along the back. There are a few cracks in the walls that have given way completely, offering a glimpse of the rest of the city beyond. He must be somewhere fairly high up, given the view.]
So. Important questions. ...well all right, maybe not important but anyway-
One, do we have like...a bar or a tavern, or whatever people like to call 'em nowadays- a pub? We back to that? Yeah- local hangout- we got one of those? Now I realize we don't seem to be a whole lotta people here, but having a watering hole to just enjoy a drink and sit or something in between our trying to solve world problems doesn't sound like a bad thing to have.
Two...
[He's wandered over to some makeshift shelving unit where he's got a few bottles of whatever drinks had been served at that last Agrii-sponsored party. It seemed a shame to let them go to waste, after all! He picks one of the bottles up, watching the red liquid as he turns it from side to side.]
Drinks. Obviously they're available. In connection to question one, a bar's gotta have drinks. So did the Agrii just make these pop out of nowhere or is there a better way to go about making this stuff?

That sounds like... A good idea, Cayde.
[ He may not necessarily visit, but the idea is nice? ]
Do you want me to write you a tutorial on producing alcohol?
[ Because that's something he can do. ]
The consumable type, of course.
[His expression brightens. Someone actually said his idea's good. Eat that, Zavala.]
That sounds great! Provided we have something to distill.
I'm thinking those red berry things from the party make this drink, but judging from what I saw then, I think they're pretty potent as is.
Now why would I want non-consumable alcohol at a bar? ...okay to be fair I doubt it'd make much difference for me but I'm sure it wouldn't be appreciated by others lacking stomachs of steel. Or...whatever it's made of.

Please don't call me that. I mean-
You will very likely build the necessary equipment, I'm afraid. I know how the process works and how to adjust it for different results and what to keep an eye out to not poison anyone.
Also.. You would be surprised what some people are willing to drink.
no subject
But yeah, figured as much. Got loads of time anyway, I may as well. You got a manual for that too? I have a vague idea of how things work, but putting it into practice is another matter entirely and I'd feel really bad if I ended up poisoning people.

So how you doing anyway? How's your projects going?
no subject
[ He's just not sure how much actual help he is at the hospital. Altair has it all very thoroughly covered. ]
What about yourself? Aside from planning to get everyone drunk, I mean.
no subject
[He laughs.]
I mean, drinking's not required. ...but it'd make things more fun. Maybe.
'side from that? Eh. Still scoping out these ruins. Poking my nose in other people's business. The usual.

[...] It is a good idea though.
To have somewhere to gather just for drinks and a chat.
[Altair might not show up much himself, much preferring to stop by Eli's kitchen, but still. It is a very good idea.]
[Lookit that, two people saying his idea's good. He's on a roll here.]
Right? This place is too big and spread out and there's hardly enough folks here for us to keep bein' strangers.
voice;
[For the most part.]
True. Of course, with the danger involved, I'm sure I'll eventually get to meet everyone, given that I work at the hospital...
[And people being reckless and all...]
[He tilts his head.]
Oh, you do? Heh, that's kind of a dark outlook, but I can't say it's not realistic.
voice;
[... He's trying to be, too.
Having help now, well, helps.] Honestly I am very much hoping I don't see anyone there because of danger or injuries.
Has um...anything happened so far that's required hospitalization?
voice;
[Not fun to deal with, but he'd managed.] Not very nice of the Agrii, to bring someone here in that condition, but I'm fairly certain that they actually have no control over who arrives, and what condition they arrive in.
...wait, wait, wait- so you're saying we're just randomly picked? These guys don't even know how to use...whatever it is they're using to fish for heroes?

Bar tavern alehouse pub whatever you want to call it it needs to happen
Especially if you can manage to have alcohol before the next storm
Plenty of alcohol
Never been drunk before and frankly I'd like to try
Anyway if there is anything that I can do to help with this sorta thing for you?
Also it should have a coffee machine and coffee for people
I think I know a few things in the greenhouse that could be used to make good teas too
Gotta have something for everyone
Oh and dude don't even ever drink the blue drink from the party
It's a truth serum
[Audio]
Yes! Thank you, I'm liking the positive feedback I'm getting so far. As well as getting over the mild shock that no one's endeavored to do as much- but I get it, I get it- there are certain priorities when it comes to being marooned on an alien planet. But all work and no play... well.
Anyway- never drunk? Really? Some might say it's an experience one's better without, but better to have lived and learned than never to have learned at all. Wait, no. I think I got that wrong. Better to have... Eh, whatever. Point being, so long as you don't make it a habit and especially don't make some terrible life-altering decisions, you're golden.
Coffee! Good call. General beverage selection can't hurt, especially if it's going to be something of a hang-out where you can do all the chatting and whatever it is kids do these days.
I'm still scouting out places- but if we're going through with this we're gonna need dishware and stuff. Glasses and cups at least. Uh, rewind a bit but does this place even have coffee? Beans or whatever? Or is that another thing to devote the ol' replicator to?
...and hang on but truth serum?
...
....okay no, that... That explains a little, actually. Right. So I guess people would probably appreciate if I dumped that stuff out. Who wants to go to a bar and tell the truth! I mean I'm sure people will probably just do that anyway once they're in their cups.

I've sorta been busy with making sure there is fresh food
Because before the ships we didn't have anything but the greenhouse
And now I'm just so used to the work and spending my 60 hr cycle like this
But seriously no one thought about recreational stuff
We've done a lot to just survive until now
As for drinking i can't get drunk or even tipsy unless there's a storm happening
Accelerated metabolism and all that jazz
But coffee is a far more important life altering decision don't you think?
Also we don't call it chatting when we do it
It's chilling or hanging or something
Replicator can make coffee beans probably
Could try and see if there is stuff to grow it
But it would take a while
And yeah super fucking truth serum
Thanks I hated it
no subject
Food is important. So's surviving. But I stand by my earlier botched up saying. No need getting stressed out, and if you find out you're shouldering all the hard work, then something's very wrong.
Now. Accelerated metabolism. Yeah, okay, I think I can see how that can mess with one's attempts to get drunk. Apparently those fruit things were potent enough without getting distilled into hard liquor, so maybe some super concentrated version of that might get you a buzz. Don't quote me on that though- I'm no scientist.
Hanging. Yes. Chatting- ugh, did I really say that? Blame Zavala. He's not here, but blame him anyway.
So you mentioned a greenhouse earlier, guess that's a good place to see what's going on. ...would replicated seeds work to grow things? I gotta admit, I really don't know how that thing actually functions but it's kind of disturbing in how it can spit out both objects and foodstuffs.
no subject
Fuck man if this was wired into my brain you'd have responses in nanoseconds
Maybe pico
Can't remember which one is bigger at the moment
All work no play blah blah blah yeah we get it you're not wrong and people need to fucking chill some.
I'll talk to Eli and see if he can make booze out of that shit for me but he doesn't want me to have too much to drink
Which is rude
Could test replicated seeds
And the things work by converting a stored supply of matter, typically in inert but still suitable molecular reserves, and using pre-programmed pattern buffers to reorganize the matter into the appropriate structure, from a submolecular level
Basically like using a teleporter pad but instead of recreating the stored data from a teleport of a person or supply after breaking down that molecular structure you basically just build it from reserves
no subject
Hey, if you don't get drunk then what's the worry? Unless he's just concerned about stock.
...
....okay I didn't expect a textbook answer but... Huh. So my guess wasn't too far off. I was figuring it was something along the lines of transmat technology. But where's the reserves coming from? Unless it's recycling material from the planet somehow. Ugh, this is why I don't like overthinking things.
no subject
Because it kills my superhuman metabolism
Fucking hell if i know where anything comes from here
Space magic?
Yeah i'm going with that.
Anyway the important thing is you make a bar and lots of liquor
And there is a place to chill
But damn it's nice to talk to someone like you again
Even if you aren't hooked up to talk fast
no subject
For the record, space magic is real. Or at least there's a thing we call space magic back home. I mean, it's as good a term as any, right? I am all for space magic being an all-encompassing explanation.
I'll get on the bar project as soon as I find a place. I got a few ideas.
[He does have to pause at the last.]
