Overworked Security Guard | OTA
WHO: Sephiroth and potentially everyone
WHERE: Ships and Temba
WHAT: Patrolling, fighting monsters
WHEN: Throughout the month of decision
WARNINGS: Probably none
Sephiroth is so tired.
All the commotion during New Tick and the rest of January, and now the debate over what to do next.... He’s voiced his opinions and has been going between his ship (Peanut Party) and Temba. Since some of the He Rows have opted to stay in space, he feels the need to check on them as well as those who have gone down to Temba. Sometimes he also checks on things on the Agrii ship to make sure there aren't more conflicts. That all, of course, makes much more work for him.
He likes to steal naps whenever possible, which doesn't seem to be that often. Sometimes he’s found in his room on the ship. Other times, other places on the ship, usually an out of the way corner. Sometimes his wings are hanging down. Other times, they’re wrapped around him for warmth or just to protect them from being tripped on. Despite being asleep, however, he’s good at snapping awake when approached. Usually. If he’s in a deeper sleep, he may not initially react. Or he may subconsciously fling a wing out to bat someone away if they’re getting too close.
On Temba, he’s often patrolling as he likes to do, studying the information he's trying to gather, or sometimes flying through the air. Flying is freedom to him and it isn’t unusual for a large blue feather to drift to the surface as he goes past. He’s also around to fight off unfriendly fauna coming into the city. And while he can’t be hypnotized by the Capra, he’ll try to help if any unlucky He Rows get into that predicament.
He does what he can to help with rebuilding and anything else that may need his attention. And he’s willing to help if anyone asks him. There's always so much to get done.

If he hadn't been seen entering, he might very well be seen trying to exit, trying his best to shove a cartload of titanium ingots along the road.

"What? A turtle trying to haul some metal back to the shuttles? Certainly it has to be a common sight!" he snorts. His foot slips on some loose gravel and makes him fall against the cart and practically into it with a wheeze.

"Mmrf. I suppose I slightly underestimated my ability versus the weight of a half-laden cart of metal over uneven paving stones," he concedes.
no subject
He starts to push it. "How have you been recovering?" He's still investigating, trying to figure out what can be done to trip the killers up and get them caught at last, and also trying to figure out what can be done with them afterwards. Neither is an easy problem.

Since Sephiroth's already pushing, the turtle walks along beside him, putting a hand on the side to at the very least help navigate around anything that might look like it'd give the wheels some trouble.
"Doing much better now," he answers after a moment's consideration. Tae's treatment for the smoke inhalation had helped immensely- once he'd managed to force himself to something of a schedule. Now and then he still had to struggle with a patch of dryness.
"I'm all about locking up those jerks but I don't think that's good enough for them." Bitter? Never!
no subject
"Good."
A nod and a dark smirk. "I quite agree. What concerns me about that idea is it would take up valuable resources making sure there's always someone to watch them. There are even less of us here than there used to be. If we catch them, there should be some way to either send them back to their own world or lock them up where there are better resources to watch over them. An intergalactic prison, perhaps."
Is he joking? Maybe. Or maybe he wishes that were actually an option.
"I'd suggest the Agrii ship, but I wouldn't trust them being locked up there."
no subject
"And if sending anyone back was so simple, none of us would still be here, I think."
no subject
"Heh. You'd think they might at least have a system that would return people who have proven to be unsuitable 'He Rows.' Of course, things are rarely that simple."
no subject
"Not really sure that they ever considered that possibility. They automatically associate the title with whoever gets brought in, after all, and so far as I've come to understand, they don't actually choose those people themselves," Donnie points out.
no subject
He isn't really surprised by this either. "They do seem too simple-minded to consider that perhaps mistakes were made or that something would need to be done about it if so."
no subject
Donnie frowns, shaking his head. "Not simple-minded. They've been extremely sheltered. These are their first steps into making their own decisions, being open in their disagreement with how things are."
no subject
He is glad to know they were reluctant to continue fiddling with the gun.
"Yes, you're right," Sephiroth concedes. "I suppose it's good that they're starting to learn how to make their own decisions, even though it's concerning how some of them are going about it."
He is certainly worn-out from trying to handle their conflicts and is still concerned there will be more.
no subject
"Negative, they weren't really aiming and got themselves more hurt from environmental response than the actual bullet." Donnie hadn't even been really scared at first so much as angry that they'd even given someone like Stu a gun. Never mind that they also had provided him the equivalent of a laser blaster but he wasn't running around with that tucked in his belt!
"It is, and I guess no different from how lots of people have gotten their start, but if history has anything to say about it, that's always the messiest part."
no subject
"Good." He was very pleased to receive the Masamune, but once he realized everyone was getting weapons, he became very concerned. He has no doubt that the killers are plotting for how to use theirs in their next attempt. He also has no doubt that there will be another attempt.
"Heh. Yes, I'm sure it's the same on both our worlds' histories." He is also from a version of Earth ... or part of one, anyway. His Earth is broken up into many smaller worlds.
no subject
"It's just fact; sentient species can never agree on anything completely and it takes them a while to figure out that they can't go around killing everyone who doesn't side with them because there won't be much left."
no subject
A thoughtful nod, although he looks like he isn't sure what to think of a teenager saying this. Zack definitely hadn't had such thoughts at Donnie's age. "Have you had such experiences with other sentient species?" It's only a half-joke since he doesn't really know what Donnie's world is like. Or maybe Donnie is just speaking from having read history books.

He sees pros and cons all ways and wants to know more before an ultimate decision is reached, but will that even be possible? All he knows for sure is that he doesn't want to bring them down here only for them to start fighting more.
no subject
"I don't think they should come here. Their kind have certain needs, and unless the weather once it fixes itself, proves something more naturally humid, they'll have a hard time. And who knows how long it'll take for the climate to adjust, if it will."
no subject
He nods, frowning. "I wonder how they managed here before."
no subject
"We were asked to solve the storm problem. Which we did. So technically we should have been allowed home, only the reality of it is that the Agrii don't have that control to do so, and it was never meant to be such a simple fix anyway!"
He gave the cart a bit harder shove than necessary to avoid a pothole.
"They didn't. None of the Agrii aboard that ship have ever been down here. The last Agrii to ever be here on the planet was over two centuries ago. The Wanderer said that the summers weren't always so arid and intense, so the climate probably got super screwed up when the storms were programmed in."
